Some cards have been printed with errors on them. We have assembled a list below of all the errors we have found. All the credit goes to Pokemon Aaah! and Silver Suicune of Pojo.com.

Base Set 1

Card Name Error Explanation
Kakuna This card was printed with "Length" instead of weight.
Bulbasaur This error card was printed with "Length" instead of weight.
Caterpie This card was printed with HP40 instead of 40 HP.
Metapod This card was printed with HP70 instead or 70 HP.
Vulpix This card was printed with HP 50 instead or 50 HP.
Voltorb This card was printed with "easily mistaken for a Monster Ball" instead of, "easily mistaken for a Poke Ball".
Diglett This error card was printed with the fighting energy symbol for it's first attack upside down.
Pikachu This error card was printed with the original red Pikachu cheeks. Later they decided to switch to yellow cheeks.
Ninetales This error card was printed with no damage for it's second attack, Fire Blast.

Jungle

Card Name Error Explanation
Butterfree As a result of an ink bubble on the "1st Edition" symbol, the 1 looks like a lowercase "d."
Pikachu Promo When Jungle was being made, a few Promo #1 Pikachus got put into the machine instead and were printed with the "1st Edition Symbol."
Clefable This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Electrode This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Flareon This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Jolteon This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Kangaskhan This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Mr.Mime This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Nidoqueen This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Pidgeot This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Pinsir This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Rapidash Rapidash is a Stage 1 Pokemon, but the text tell you to "Put Rapiash on the Stage 1 Pokemon".
Scyther This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Seaking Seaking is a Stage 1 Pokemon, but the text tell you to "Put Seaking on the Stage 1 Pokemon".
Snorlax This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Vaporeon This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Venomoth This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Victrebell This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Vileplume This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.
Wigglytuff This error card was printed with no Jungle Symbol.

Fossil

Card Name Error Explanation
Zapdos This error card had the outline of an evolution box imprinted or cut into the foil.

Team Rocket

Card Name Error Explanation
Dark Dragonite Very few 1st Edition Non-Holographic Dark Dragonite cards were printed with the holographic numbers. Hold on to them as time goes on, they get harder to find!
Dark Grimer English Team Rocket's Grimer's Poison Gas attack puts Pokemon to sleep, even though the Japanese version Poisons them.
Dark Raichu Dark Raichu's Evolution Box is colored light grey, as opposed to the dark grey found on other Dark Pokemon. Plus it tells you to "Put Raichu on the Basic Pokemon" instead of "Put Dark Raichu..."
Dark Rapidash Dark Rapidash's stats lacks the word "Length".
Dark Vileplume Holo Dark Vileplume have a weakness of Fighting, even though it's supposed to be Fire.

Gym Challenge

Card Name Error Explanation
Blaine's Charizard Some Blaine's Charizards have a Fighting symbol instead of the Fire symbol that's supposed to be there.
Rocket's Minefield Gym This card lacks how many damage counters to put on a Pokémon for an unsucessful flip (for the record, it's 2 damage counters).
Giovanni's Pinsir Pinsir's "Snapping Pincers" attack is supposed to do 20+ damage and not 10+ damage.

Neo Genesis

Card Name Error Explanation
Slowking The damage is off center.
Typhlosion The damage is off center.
Horsea The attack cost energy symbol for Horsea is oddly off.
Meganium The Pokemon Power title text is black instead of red.
Focus Band The picture on Focus Band has a white bar beneth it, as if the picture wasn't properly positioned when they were doing the layout on the computers.

Neo Discovery

Card Name Error Explanation
Kakuna The copyright text of all Neo Discovery cards is "©1999-2001". But for some reason, this card's copyright is "©1999-2000".
Unown O There is an obvious grammar error on Unown O.
Scizor The attack's damage done is "20+" when it's supposed to be "20x". For the record, you play it as "20x".
Umbreon The Psychic symbol in Umbreon's resistance is bigger than normal.

Neo Revelation

Card Name Error Explanation
Delibird The energy cost for Delibird's attack is off center.
Raichu The "Put Raichu on the Basic Pokemon" text is unnecessarily bold and italic.
Zubat Zubat's resistance lacks the "-30".

Neo Destiny

Card Name Error Explanation
Dark Croconaw Doesn't Croconaw have only 48 teeth in its mouth? The card says it has 49.
Dark Exeggutor There's an unneeded C in the name.
Dark Haunter Dark Haunter's Call Back attack's clause leave out the word "opponent's".
Light Flareon The "b" in "benched" is supposed to be CAPITALIZED.
Togepi The "(before applying Weakness and Resistance)" text should be in italics.
Gligar The energy symbols on Gligar is not in the correct position.
Shining Tyranitar The word "hust" in its flavor text is supposed to be "just".
Unown C Unown C's Chase power adds a useless "Apply Weakness and Resistance" considering the power doesn't do damage.
Unown P There's an extra space in Basic Pokémon title on Unown P.

Legendary Collection

Card Name Error Explanation
Reverse Holo Exeggcute Normally on Reverse Holos, the Energy costs for attacks aren't reflective. On Exeggcute, they are.

Expedition

Card Name Error Explanation
Darkness Energy The card text implies that you can do extra damage to Benched Pokemon (considering that normally you can't).
Alakazam The "This power stops working if..." text is italicized when it's not supposed to be.
Charizard This card tells you to "Put Charizard on the Basic Pokemon".
Gengar Gengar's Chaos Move Pokemon Power game text has a few spots where the text could obviously go up a line.
Dugtrio Like the Umbreon error with the oversized Psychic symbol, Dugtrio's attack's Energy cost's symbols are larger than they should be.
Totodile When you scan in Cyndaquil's card into the E-Reader for GBA, you can use a "Cynda!" sound for your Melody Box. However when you scan in the Totodile card, you get "Wani!" instead of "Toto!". "Wani" is in reference to Totodile's Japanese name "Waninoko". Now either Totodile is the error, or Cyndaquil is.

Aquapolis

Card Name Error Explanation
Crystal Nidoking The Crystal Type power mentions Grass/Lightning/Fire energy, but the attacks only use Grass/Lightning/Fighting energy.
Reverse Holo Lanturn There's a PokeBody icon on this card when there shouldn't be.
Magenemite The text on this card is quite, quite faded. As opposed to other Metal Pokemon in the set.
Ariados On the holo version card, Araiados' Spider Force attack says "defending Pokemon" while the nonholo version says "Defending Pokemon".

Southern Islands

Card Name Error Explanation
Slowking Slowking's length is listed as 6' 8" instead of 6' 7" (which is what it's supposed to be).

Promo Cards

Card Name Error Explanation
Dark Persian The first set of Nintendo Power Dark Persians was printed without it's HP. They were all recalled and supposedly destroyed, but you can find a decent amount of them around anyway.
Prerelease Raichu It's existence is an enigma... It's yellow... and it's very rare! A few Base Set Raichu's slipped into the machine when Prerelease Clefables were being made and were printed the Prerelease Stamp.
