Electivire

By: Legacy
Electabuzz has had to wait until the 4th Generation to get a much needed evolution, but was it worth the wait? Yep. Electivire boasts strong Attack, respectable Speed and Sp. Attack and decent HP and Sp. Defense stats along with a good physical movepool and a great Ability. However, Electivire isn't the most versatile Pokemon.
4th Generation
Choice Band Sweeper
Item: Expert Belt / Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: Atk and Spd
Attacks: Thunderpunch
Ice Punch
Cross Chop
Earthquake
Electivire is a very dangerous Pokemon. This moveset scores a super effective hit on a total of 13 out of the 17 types. There aren't too many Pokemon that can switch into an Electivire and not take too much damage, such is its threat due to its high attack and decent speed. The key, though, is to use your prediction skills to switch Electivire into an expected Electric attack to activate its Motor Drive ability to greatly boost its speed and increase its sweeping potential. Expert Belt or Life Orb depends on whether you'd like a bit more damage or you'd like to not lose 10% HP each turn.
Rating: 8.5/10
Special Sweeper
Item: Life Orb / Choice Specs
Nature: Modest
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: Sp.Atk and Spd
Attacks: Thunderbolt
Flamethrower
Psychic
Focus Blast
Unfortunately, Electivire is nowhere near as lethal as a Special Sweeper compared to its Physical Sweeping power. It loses 28 base stats if you go for a Sp. Sweeper and you lose the insane type coverage of the previous variant. This is not to say that Electivire is completely useless as a Sp. Sweeper. 95 base Sp. Attack is nothing to sneeze at and it does possess quite a strong arsenal of attacks, and a special sweeping Electivire certainly has that element of surprise, which would be very handy against someone looking to switch in Skarmory to stall your physical attacks, only to be hit by a Thunderbolt. The main problem for this set is that it is vastly outclassed by quite a lot of very strong and/or fast special sweepers.

Diamond / Pearl - It pushes the tips of its two tails against the foe, then lets loose with over 20,000 volts of power.
Evolution: Electivire does not evolve.
Location: Electivire is obtainable after you evolve Electabuzz by trading it, while equipped with the Electirizer, to another game. It will evolve at the end of the trade. To do this, you'll first need an Elekid. You can only get Elekid by inserting the Pokemon FireRed cartridge into the GBA slot on your DS and wandering around the grass on Route 204 - South Windworks Valley. Though, to encounter an Elekid is very rare, it has a 5% encounter rate, and not every Elekid holds an Electirizer, so it is certainly a matter of patience getting an Electivire.
Abilities:
Motor Drive - The Pokemon takes no damage from Electric-type attacks and Speed raises by one level.
