Welcome to the second edition of PokeZam.com Newsletter! You must have forgotten about this newsletter by now or thought it was dead, but I was just a little busy with school and exams. Now that I finally have time, I will try to send out the newsletter way more often.
Feature Story
To dub or not to dub, that is the question! Actually it is a subject that I think about a lot. I mean, I like watching Pokemon in English, but what if they just had it with sub-titles and didn't edit it at all. Lots of people have been asking for that, but the problem that arises is, who is willing to pay $20 for a couple episodes with sub-titles? Well I can tell you I wouldn't!If only they could come out with a TV station that showed Anime with sub-titled episodes, maybe then the problem could be solved. I bet they would make it pay tv, so the real question is how much money are you willing to fork out for sub-titled Pokemon episodes? It is up to you, but I say that you should be happy with what you got.
I mean at least Pokemon isn't a forgotten about Anime like Sailor Moon. I mean it took them forever to get all-new episodes and the series was left at a cliff-hanger right before the battle with the Wise Man and by the time they had new episodes, everyone had grown up and nobody cared. So just be happy that more episodes are getting translated and so quickly!
I just wish they would cut the puns in the titles like "The Bug Stops Here" or even worse "Hook, Line and Stinker". I mean give me a break, I don't even think my 6 year old brother would find that funny! Oh wait, I don't have a brother.... that isn't the point! The bottom line is, be happy with the dubbing we have because it could be a lot worse!
YTV Cuts Back on Pokemon
For all my fellow canucks (Canadians) who are forced into watching YTV instead of Kids WB!, I would just like to say that I am not happy. I mean they took Pokemon out of its 5pm slot and now it is only on at 5:30am weekdays and it isn't even on everyday! Monday it isn't on because they show some Afganistanian information hour or something. I mean if you were desperate you could watch it or tape it at 5:30am, but who wants to see Pokemon Emergency for the billionth time? Not me thank you very much! I hope the Powerpuff Girls enjoy Pokemon's timeslot because hopefully when they have more new episodes Pokemon will take it back.Pokemon: Color Our World Contest (Nintendo Power)
