Junichi Masuda Blog Entry Saturday, May 17, 2008 @ 01:13 PM By: Pisaro
While this is not major, it may be of interest to some. Junichi Masuda, the director of the Pokemon games, wrote in his latest blog entry that Game Freak is working very hard on Pokemon Platinum in time for the Autumn 2008 release in Japan. In addition, Masuda also mentioned that they are trying to make the quality of Platinum higher.

Official Japanese Pokemon Site Confirms Platinum Friday, May 16, 2008 @ 02:50 AM By: Pisaro
Just updating with a small bit of news that the official Japanese Pokemon site (www.pokemon.co.jp) has updated with the official confirmation of the third game in the Shinou/Sinnoh region. As is already known, Giratina is the official Pokemon mascot for this version and plays a very important part in the story just as Rayquaza did in Emerald. The game is expected to be released in September of 2008.
Sorry about the delay but I've finally added a new POTW to the forums. This week's "lucky" pokemon is Empoleon, the fully evolved form of the Shinou watr starter. I know I've written one about Empoleon before however it was horrible. This is a much better version. Here's the link as always and sorry again about the delay: http://www.pokezam.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2739.
A more clearer version of the Coro Coro scan which was shown two days ago has appeared on a few japanese image boards. The scan do confirm a few things. For starters it confirms that the name Pokemon Platinum as the name of the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl sequel. It also has confirmed that the game is set to be released in Japan this year in Fall or Autumn. Finally Giratina has been confirmed as the star of the game, not like that was any surprise.
Because of the glare on the previous version of the scan, several things were glared out. One of them was the battle scene between the male trainer and Giratina. Now that a clear scan has been released, it can be seen that the male trainer is wearing a different outfit so more than likely there will be new outfits for at least the main characters of the game. It also shows a sprite of the origin form of Giratina. Finally where the pokemon's HP is displayed has also changed a tiny bit.
Another image has also become clearer, this one of Cyrus, the boss of Team Galactic staring down as Giratina with Palkia and Dialga in the background at the Spear Pillar. When this happens or how it happens is unknown for now. On another note, Giratina's Origin Form which was thought to have the Levitate ability is currently unknown, having ???. More information should come out in the next issue of Coro Coro.
Pokemon Diamond Site Update Tuesday, May 13, 2008 @ 07:11 AM By: Pisaro
The guide just needs to have HTML tags and it will eventually be done. I also will add some small modifications when Platinum is released.
Well follwing yesterday's revelation of information about Pokemon Platinum, the game is now almost 100% certain to be in the making and to be released later in the year, as revealed by a Coro Coro scan, possibly a leak. The scan as pictured above shows the name Pokemon Platinum, confirming that if this scan is true, Pokemon Platinum will be the name of the game.
The scan also shows other pieces of possible changes in the game like the possible main character (the person who you control) battling what it appears to be Giratina in its normal, usual form but with a seemingly different sprte. The interesting thing is not Giratina itself but the main character and what he's wearing. It seems like a new outfit but it might not even be the main character.
The second thing is what appears to be a new scene in the game with Maxie staring at a large black figure with dark, red tipped wings spread out. This is Giratina but it's unknown what form. There is also one blue and one pink figure in the picture, floating around the other black figure, suggesting that Dialga and Palkia will also play a major role somewhat in the game.
The third thing shown in the scan is a clear picture of Giratina in its Origin form. If this was drawn by Ken Sugimori and is one of his art works, then this scan is almost guaranteed to be real and the whole concept of Pokemon Platinum is no joke. Ken Sugimori is the main artist for all the pokemon and works officially for Pokemon.
The information which was revealed yesterday, none of that has been confirmed true and except possibly the Pokemon Platnium one which was the subject of this news post. The scan shown could also possibly be fake but that is quite unlikely however as mentioned before, leading up to the time when games and information are about to be confirmed, there are always some people who love to pull off a stupid stunt and claim false information which they made up to be true.
Ohter peices on information such as how to turn Giratina into its Origin form has not been revealed yet. More scans and information from Coro Coro are expected to be be revealed later this week and hopefully we'll have all the information revealed this week confirmed to be true or not. Also POTW should be ready by tomorrow.
Possible Pokemon Platinum/ New Episode Title/ New Trailer/ New Episode/ New Opening Sunday, May 11, 2008 @ 11:40 PM By: Blaziken
Sorry for the lack of news recently however this week's news has come very slowly and in very small numbers plus Pokezam has had a few technical difficulties lately. Nevertheless, this is basically the news from this week. Also, sorry but the POTW will be relayed once again.
Whether the following pieces are true or not has not yet been confirmed but should be in due time when the latest issue of Coro Coro is released some time around Thursday. A Japanese blog called blue skY has seemingly mentioned that the sequel to the best-selling Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games is called Pokemon Platinum. As well as the name of the game, blue skY have also mentioned that the following changes and events will take place in the game: 1. Volkner who is the electric gym leader of Sunnyshore City will no longer be gym leader, just like Juan replacing Wallace. Who the new gym leader will be or what will happen to Volkner is currently unknown. 2. The Underground is now Wi-Fi enabled allowing more interaction with others. 3. Instead of just the Battle Tower providing challenges for trainers, a new feature or place will be added, seemingly like the Battle Frontier. 4. Giratina's Origin form will appear in the game and will have the Levitate ability. Regigigas will also have a new form, having the Levitate ability. Shaymin's new form will also appear in the game and it is part ice type. 5. Pokemon Platinum is set to be released in September with Giratina as "star" of the game. All of the above information has NOT BE 100% confirmed yet. It could all be false or it might not be. I guess we'll find out this week when the next issue of Coro Coro is released, hopefully giving a bit more insight to whether all this information is true or not. Just something out of the blue, an image has appeared, being the possible box art for the game. Whether it's fake or not is unknown but to me, it seems fake enough to be real. (Sorry) All credit goes to Akai for the picture.
A new episode title has been revealed about an upcoming episode to air in Japan, DP82. The episode will be called "Croagunk Festival of the Pastoria Great Marsh!" The episode is also said to feature the debut of Pastoria's Gym Leader Wake. Wake shows Ash and the group around the Great Marsh to where there's a Croagunk festival of somesorts. Of course, Brock enters and competes in it with Croagunk. What the festival is about is unknown just of yet.
Continuing with Pokezam's weekly or fortnightly episode previews, here's the preview for DP79, Decisive Match, Dawn vs May! The episode will air on May 15th.
Two new episodes were shown in Japan this week to make up for skipping last week. As a result, I could only upload one episode and it was the second one, featuring all the next round battles in the Wallace Cup. The episode can be viewed through my Youtube account of mazekop, the account I upload my previews on. Also the names to for episodes won't be as confusing as before, just DP 79 (1).
The opening to the Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl anime series will change to Together2008 on May 15 when DP079 airs, according to TV Tokyo's Web site. Like the current opening, Together, the new version will be sung by Fumie Akiyoshi. It is not known how much, if any, the song's accompanying animation will change. The other version of the song is Together2007, which was the opening theme to Dialga vs. Palkia vs. Darkrai. I did not write any part of this news report and all credit goes to Mei for it. POTW/ New Batonnage Page/ Pikachu Short/ Shaymin's Second Form/ Pokemon Puzzle League on Wii Monday, May 05, 2008 @ 12:37 PM By: Blaziken
I've completed a new POTW and this week's pokemon is Dusknoir, the Gripper pokemon. If you wish to view it, here's the link: http://www.pokezam.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2720.
I've also added a new Batonnage page up onto the forums on the Batonnage section. This page deals with all the unique field abilities pokemon have in the game such as Ride and Surf. I'll have another page tomorrow.
The DVD of the Pikachu Short featured in the 10th movie had been released last week some time. Well this week there was no new episode in Japan so I've uploaded the new Pikachu Short instead onto Youtube. For those who want to watch it, it's on my account mazekop. BTW, it doesn't contain any spoilers but it is in japanese.
A few weeks ago, speculation of a new form for Shaymin started and it's still continuing. Recently speculation has started about Shaymin's possible alternate form being called the Sky Form. It's original form, which is the Shaymin that most people will be used to seeing is being dubbed the Land Form. Well six days after the two different forms of Giratina were registered by Nintendo and Game Freak on the 14th on Feburary, claims were made that the possible other form of Shaymin was also registered. The claims were made by All About Pokemon Figure. Whether there is another form of Shaymin is still unknown. If you want to see the AAPF website with this news, here's the link: http://pokemonfigure.blogspot.com/2008/05/pokemon-other-forms.html.
This is purely just speculation but with all these new forms, it's possible to say this might be like a Deoxys, with different forms and such. Speculation has also started that the second form might also have been seen in a trailer for the movie Shaymin is said to star in, Giratina and the Bouquet of the Sky, Shaymin. The speculations about the possible new 5th generation pokemon, dubbed Pokemon A and B suggest that Shaymin's other form could be one of them. Remember these are all just speculations and none of this has been confirmed just of yet.
The Nintendo 64 game Pokemon Puzzle League is said to be released for the Virtual Console on Wii just like Pokemon Snap was. The game is said to be downloadable on the 5th of May this year for 1000 Wii points.
Major Update: Pokemon Diamond Guide Finished Monday, May 05, 2008 @ 06:06 AM By: Pisaro
All right so I grew a bit bored last night and began talking to Shiny Raichu about what PokeZam needed. He suggested a Diamond and Pearl guide needed to be done, so I began typing. Less than a day later, the guide was done. If you are having some minor trouble breezing through the game, check out the guide on the PokeZam forums.
Check it out here: http://www.pokezam.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2717
I will be adding pictures and maps to help explain things better, though the bulk of the guide is finished.
