Heart Gold / Soul Silver Details
More details of the Gold/Silver remake have been released. First of all, a new female character will be taking the role, while the male character remains stationary.
Second of all, it can be fairly well confirmed that your starter will follow you as you travel through Johto. However, it is not yet known if this can be done with multiple Pokemon at once, with any Pokemon beyond your starter, with your starter's evolutions, and so on. Naturally, this feature was first implemented back in Pokemon Yellow, all the way back in the First Generation, with Pikachu following you around. More recently, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum have had amity square for several Pokemon. The third noteworthy change is that now when entering important buildings, a banner will be shown before entering the building, much like FireRed and LeafGreen. Fourth and finally, an event seems to take place in Ilex Forest which can be activitated in Japan by getting a ticket for the twelve movie. This event, as some people has speculated long before the names for the remake were even known, will involve the notched-ear and shiny Pichus.

I actually like the idea of a sixth generation Pokemon Emerald remix; few people think of the possibilities that one game has in full, colorful, barely pixaleted 3-D (in other words, think of a Play Station 2 or Xbox Original). The existing 3D we have with the DS is good, but the next generation of handheld consoles should give much more detail to the game - imagine being able to change your perspective to look into the sky while the stormcloud is slowly stretching across the region once Kyogre and Groudon have both been awoken. Imagine seeing the sky tower, and a green tail, to the left, and mirages to the right. For that matter, think of Mirage Island! There are so many other moments for which we could experience in perspective-3D Pokemon Emerald; the battle frontier is one example, but just seeing the sun rise and set as the time passes in Dewford city would be awesome. Of course, my dreams may be more than one generation away; are there any Wii games that even would make this real?
