Nintendo: Core Games in Development, But Not Ready for Early 2009
In an interview featured in the new October issue of EDGE Magazine, the Big N has made some comments about their hardcore gamers, as well as mentioned that they have developers working on "popular core gaming franchises".

Alright, many of the popular core gaming franchises of Nintendo are making their way to the Wii and DS. Sounds like good news, but, Nintendo then added the following:

So, many hardcore franchises are in development, but don't expect any of them to arrive until at least mid-2009 or late-2009. That means there is no 2008 Kirby Wii release as revealed at the beginning of the year, no new Zelda Wii or Mario Wii until late-2009, among other franchises.
Although it was already revealed that 2008 will only have the release of four more 1st-party games from Nintendo (Mario Super Sluggers, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Wario Land: Shake It!, Wii Music), the new interview revealed that we won't be getting anything like Kirby, Zelda and Mario until late-2009.

I hope this helps boost Nintendo's morale. After all the criticism it recieved, It would be nice to know that Nintendo is still going to do it's best in making it's games, and making it's gamers happy in doing so. This could be the beginning of some new anticipation for Nintendo games. I sure hope they do well.
