LeafGreen Restart
I recently restarted my Leaf Green version. I picked Squirtle for a starter, since I never give him enough love. I wasted half an hour trying, or rather hopoing, for a Female, since the breeding will be a whole lot easier. But, sadly, no... I got a male with a Docile nature (good and neutral). I just wanted to make this thread, so maybe people can help me a little.
My plan to have an early team of Squirtle/Wartortle ; Spearow/Fearow ; Clefairy (if I'm lucky). I want Vulpix for a Fire Pokemon. I thought Electabuzz was in LG, but it was Magmar. I'm not sure what Pokemon to use for Electric now, since Pikachu is overused. Jolteon, maybe?
I made a pretty good team that oddly is similar to a fantasy one... Let's see:
Blastoise ; Jolteon ; Ninetails ; Dodrio ; Onix (optional) ; Clefable
That sounds like a good team, so I'll shoot for that. Wish me luck.

Good luck Akai. I also restarted my LeafGreen Version in order to regain certain Pokemon. I chose Charizard, however my main team, though short is
Charizard, Raichu, and Vaporeon

It's a good team. I prefer Vaporeon over all the other Eevee-lutions, but I need Jolteon. Out of the starters, Charizard is the most powerful, but his stats are all over the place. Blastoise is more steady.

It looks like that you have a well-balanced team, but you shouldn't have Onix, he's really bad in the 3rd gen. If you want a ground-type for your team, then you should try Dugtrio or Marowak. They're both good pokemon that you can find early on (Diglett in Diglett cave, Cubone in Lavender Tower... or whatever its called).

I did say Onix was optional. I've never had Marowak. I may try him out. >:3 I will own this game.

Personally, to me, that team wouldn't be that strong. ^^; Jolteon isn't that strong, and he wouldn't really be able to fight against tougher monsters (I would personally switch him with Raichu, but it's your choice). Onix wouldn't be able to do much, until he became a Steelix, but you couldn't do that very early unless you had another source. Clefable is very useful in DP, but sadly, it can't do much in the earlier generations. I would personally replace it with something more wild and...fun! XD It's your choice, though.
Good luck!

Thanks for the critisizing. Clefable is good. I may replace it with Snorlax. It depends.

Snorlax is a good replacement. I would consider it, since you're going to be fighting it anyway....^^
Or, you can replace Clefable with a totally random Pokemon that you want to use. I would, lol!

Wow, nice team, actually. I just restarted my FireRed version yesterday, so I know what you're going through. XP
If you don't want to use Jolteon, you could try Magnemite. It may be a little eh, but as a magneton, I think it pwns. Or Voltorb. Personally, some of my best experiences were with a strong Electrode at my side. XP
I tried to go with Clefairy, but I ended up deleting the file and I never saw where it went. Maybe I'll do that this time, too. I know it learns a really good steel move at level 40+ that I wanted to try out. But if you want a more steady normal type, I recomend Wigglytuff (jigglypuff are avaliable early in-game still, I believe) or Tauros, but those are a PAIN to catch in the Safarai Zone. Friggin things.....
Well, good luck with the new game!
