Official Linux Thread
Because Linux is just that awesome.
So, is Slackware any good? I've only used Ubuntu, Fedora, and Knoppix(With Ubuntu being my favorite), but I want to try out some of the classics like slackware or red hat.

I knew you would ask that...
Linux is an operating system based off the Unix source code, created by Linus Torvalds. Linux is a combination of the names Linus and Unix. It is an Open Source(Meaning anyone can take the raw coding and alter it) and free. It's very much comparable to Windows and Mac in terms of usage, because people have made hundreds of programs that act as Linux versions of Windows programs. If you have any more questions, use wikipedia or find an old computer and try it for yourself(That's how I learned)

I've yet to try Slackwere or Debian, however I have tried (K)Ubuntu 7.10-9.10, Fedora 9-11, OpenSuse 10.3-11.1, and Mandriva 2008.1 and 2009, and out of the four Ubuntu is far superior, while Fedora also being a great distro. Mandriva lacked consistency, as did OpenSuse, but this sounds improved in 11.2 (which I will also be trying). I am currently on Ubuntu 9.10 with KDE, so it is my preferred.
Anyway, when I have some spare time, I do want to try Slackware, however I probably won't keep it for long. I can only go so hard core :P.

I actually like the idea of a sixth generation Pokemon Emerald remix; few people think of the possibilities that one game has in full, colorful, barely pixaleted 3-D (in other words, think of a Play Station 2 or Xbox Original). The existing 3D we have with the DS is good, but the next generation of handheld consoles should give much more detail to the game - imagine being able to change your perspective to look into the sky while the stormcloud is slowly stretching across the region once Kyogre and Groudon have both been awoken. Imagine seeing the sky tower, and a green tail, to the left, and mirages to the right. For that matter, think of Mirage Island! There are so many other moments for which we could experience in perspective-3D Pokemon Emerald; the battle frontier is one example, but just seeing the sun rise and set as the time passes in Dewford city would be awesome. Of course, my dreams may be more than one generation away; are there any Wii games that even would make this real?
