This thread is for sharing your opinion about Poképhilia, and to discuss it with other members.

As a start, let me define the word 'Poképhilia' for you:

Poképhilia: It is a state in which a person becomes literally infatuated towards a Pokémon, mainly in a sexual way. They are attracted to those Pokémon as they appear in the animé, movies or games. Most 'Poképhiles' also see sexual dreams about the Pokémon they 'love'.

I have seen a lot of "Poképhilia Clubs" on multiple forums, so no one can deny that it is a popular case.

Before you write your opinion on this matter, please read the rules:

Now, here's my personal opinion:

I honestly find it really strange that some people are attracted to Pokemon in a sexual way. I mean, they're merely monsters which don't physically exist. Therefore, I just get shocked when I learn that those people are actually attracted to Pokemon sexually.

Now, I find it normal to dream about Pokemon sometimes, but again, I never actually imagined that some people would dream sexually of Pokemon. However, when I stumbled across Sppf's Pokephilia club, I was astonished as to what I found out. Then I saw how many people experienced the same thing, and I was just surprised about the whole matter. This surprise decreased after I have seen a lot of people confessing experiencing such dreams and infatuations. To be honest, I find sexual dreaming about Pokemon an abnormal obsession, but now, I find it abnormal to a less extent (because of the huge number of 'Pokephiles', as I have mentioned).

I still can't understand and explain how those people experience such things, but I give them full respect, nevertheless. I have just explained how I truly feel towards this whole issue.

Well, for what its worth, I'm quite attracted to certain of the human characters :P (May is particularly sexy, as well as the Lass' in the games.)

As for the "condition"; I think it exists in part of a larger whole of attraction to humanized critters, per say. Go back to the earlier days of a cartoon when you had wolves or foxes dancing and singing, and the male wolves or foxes whistling or their eyes popping. Its not like Pokemon was the first to see something like that, just one of the perhaps more popular.

In real life, Zoophilia is, while quite uncommon, a recognized disease. Take it, cartoonize it, and you have a more common, less risky attraction to fictional creatures.

Okay, but we are talking about an infatuation towards monsters which don't even exist, physically. Zoophilia might seem a bit less abnormal, seeing as how you are being attracted to animals which do physically exist.

Really? Zoophilia seems far weirder to me because its, well, real. Fantasizing about something witch you can never act upon isn't necessarily a bad thing; raping a cow seems a little gross, though.

Something which is really strange and confusing. How can they be attracted to fake monsters?

Now I thought that I am obsessed in Pokemon. It seems that there are some people who love Pokemon rather than liking them.

Pokephila... It's sorta gross to me. In my eyes it's sort of like being gay or lesbian, it's just something that doesn't seem right to me because of my religon.

Man with woman, woman with man. Anything else to me is wrong.

I understand that some people are born with different desires that they may not be able control so I just accept it, I suppose. The world is not perfect, after all.
