(Thread: 1)

Hello everyone.
I decided to start a series of threads called "Shadow's games", where there's a specific game, mostly a puzzle, that you have to solve within a specific number of chances. The first person who answers correctly, stating the reason, gets to win the prize.

Now, let's get to the rules of this puzzle:

Rules
1-A person is only allowed 2 chances.
2-No answer is to be accepted without a justifying reason.
3-Most of my puzzles won't be obvious, but will be deep and need a lot of thinking and research.
4-Participants must have Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum to receive their prizes.
5-The prize can be either accepted or refused by the winner, according to his option.
6-The first person who guesses the right answer with a reason is declared the winner. After the right answer has been announced, along with the winner, no one is to be post any answer after him/her.
7-You do not have to apply to participate. Just straight away start researching/thinking, and then post what you think is the right answer.
8-After you have deeply thought, choose 2 options in the poll which you think are qualified to be the odd-one outs (since you have two chances, you get to choose 2 Pokemon. If you think that only one Pokemon is the one out and assured of it, choose that one only)

The puzzle:

Which one do you think is the odd-one out out of those?

TIP: This puzzle is not as obvious as you think. It doesn't have to do anything with type, moves, sprites, stats, evolution lines, no. of limbs, etc.
It is something deeper than all this.

The prize: A Cyndaquil (level and moves are not going to be announced)

Important: Since I plan to make this a weekly activity, this will be closed before next Wednesday comes.

Reason?
People please remember to post the reason with your post.

I voted for a Slowpoke because they all look smart while Slowpoke looks dumb. We can also say that Slowpoke has the ability to swim and surf while the others can't. Another reason is that the others are physically strong while Slowpoke has strong psychic and special power.

That is not the right answer.

I specifically pointed out that types/moves don't make a difference.

This is not the right answer.

Once chance gone for Spirit. One left.

(And please don't cram your post with reasons)

You'll have to excuse me at first, I'm thinking aloud. My answer is at the end.

Slowpoke is the only first stage Pokemon, it almost makes sense that it would be it for that reason.

My initial guess was Raichu - its evolution change does not involve levels. However, this has to do with the Pokemon's chain, not the Pokemon itself.

After this I thought about egg groups - however this led to really nothing. Three of the Pokemon share the ground egg group, however two do not.

After this, I thought about the generation they were from, and any possible games they might have been excluded from. They are all from the first generation, however games like Stadium 1 Japan may exclude a certain one.

I also searched in-game location, however three or four could be the odd-one-out by this logic, so I figured otherwise.

Finally, I checked out stats, and found Raichu to be the only one which did not have a higher attack than special attack, instead breaking even.

So, I came through a few different solutions. However, here are those that I choose. It sounded like Slowpoke wasn't actually impossible, but just had to have the right reason, so he is my second guess. Why? He is at the first stage in his evolution cycle, every one else is either in their second or third.

My first guess is Raichu, because its Attack and Special Attack power break even in the in-game stats, where as all of the other shown Pokemon have an attack that is higher than their special attack.

Sorry if I over-crowded things.

i voted raichu because it is actually slow if not evolved at a high level

I am sorry to say that, but that is not the right answer. Reason is that, as I mentioned in my post, the puzzle isn't obvious. Don't you think that putting a 1st stage Pokemon among 2nd or 3rd stage Pokemon is too obvious?
After reading your guesses, I edited the "Tip" section to include stats, evolution lines, etc so that people wouldn't do the same mistake.
FreezeWarp's 1st chance is gone.

My first guess is Raichu, because its Attack and Special Attack power break even in the in-game stats, where as all of the other shown Pokemon have an attack that is higher than their special attack.
Hmm... This is also kinda obvious, since really, stats are perhaps the most important factor in a Pokemon to most trainers. So, I wouldn't really make it in this way. However, since I didn't mention stats before, I give you another chance, FreezeWarp.

Sorry if I over-crowded things.
Ah. That's a no problem as long as you gave me your final answers.

i voted raichu because it is actually slow if not evolved at a high level
I wouldn't include such thing in the puzzle, as it is a conditional answer. We need a default answer where everything is normal/default, and is not under a special circumstance.
Therefore, shaymin has lost one chance.

To give you more hints, FreezeWarp got a bit close to the right answer...
I think you must all care about many other information as well.

LoL?!
I think I got it...the answer is Primeape and the reason is that all the other pokemon have tails while Primeape has no tail!

Though this is applicable, it is still obvious >_<
Spirit ran out of chances. Sorry.

Hm... Well, I'll finish my guess with Persian, as with some research, it appears as though it has never had a Pokedex entry read aloud in the anime.

I wouldn't really make the answer in the anime, as I myself don't know about such 'facts'. Plus, this would make the puzzle more open, complicating it even more. Unless I specify in the "Tip" section of any thread that it is related to movies/anime/etc. I wouldn't do so.
Sorry to say that, but you lost all your chances, FreezeWarp.

For all the others: FreezeWarp got really close with his last post. There's a keyword in his post which will lead you to the right answer. Search people, search!

The right answer of the puzzle

OK everyone, it is time to officially announce the right answer of this puzzle, which, unfortunately, no one was able to guess correctly. But hey! There will be other chances, so keep your head high =)

So, the odd-one out, among those Pokemon, is:
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Slowpoke!

Yes everyone, it is Slowpoke! And the reason is:

Primeape's weight: 70.5 LBS
Pidgeotto's weight: 66.1 LBS
Raichu's weight: 66.1 LBS
Persian's weight: 70.5 LBS
Slowpoke's wight: 79.4 LBS - He is the odd-one out as he doesn’t have another partner which shares the exact same weight with him.

If you have any comments/opinions, you are welcome to share them here before I close this thread tomorrow.

That's all, folks! I hope everyone enjoyed trying to solve my puzzle. Stay tuned for more great puzzles, and even greater prizes!
~Shadow.
