Today, Serebii revealed that trainers are able to trade from D/P/Pt to HG/SS as soon as they get the Pokedex.

Though this means I can get the starters (which I plan to put in my team) from my Platinum, it also makes the game kinda easier, as in this way, we will get all the Pokemon we want easily, and complete the Pokedex faster, without facing hard times, trying to catch/obtain rare Pokemon, etc.

~What do you all think?

Not a bad addition as this will help us in building our teams perfectly, just like what I did. I agree with you that this may make the games easier, but it also concerns the player as he can choose whether he wants to use his previous games or not.
Finally, I am glad that we can trade from Platinum to HG/SS.

Agreed. It's really up to the trainer himself.

Although trading can conceivably make a game easier, this doesn't give you any advantage in competitive play, rather it gives you the option to make the game easier if you so want. I personally won't be trading right away, though I do feel events to make trading possible are a little tacky, so I'm happy with the change.

I am only happy because I will be able to EV train my team in Platinum and send it over to SS.

Well, I am going to make a team and send it to HG from my Platinum and today I started making this team with a shiny mild Charmander.

TBH, and I am sorry if I will go a bit off-topic by this post, I am not really a fan of shiny Pokemon. You see, the alternative colours, most of the time, are not as good-looking as the original colours of Pokemon. Now that I have a wide selection of shiny Pokemon, I don't seem to care much about them, as they are normal Pokemon but with a different colour. Actually, I am starting to think they are only existent for people to brag off about them.
