Chapter 1
A Hero’s Legacy
“He was something else…” A soft, feminine voice said.
A man was swinging his sword, slaying the army of enemies that were attacking the Matsuzaki Village. This man was none other than, Oboro.
Oboro ran quickly and swiftly through the village. Many attempted to at least cut the man on his arm, but they failed miserably. Those who tried to surround him were pushed back by wind. The ones who tried to run at him were burned by fire. Some tried to hide underwater, but were caught in whirlpools. It didn’t stop there. The last few of them tried to hide in trees and underground. Their bodies were instantly crushed by earth. This man… was definitely something else. Until… he was mysteriously killed.
“You were born on that same exact day… Fourteen years ago that was. And look at you now…” The woman was telling her son about his father. What were their names? The woman’s name was Mizuka Kazuma and the boy’s name was Max Hwoarang.
“So… is it a bad thing or good thing?” Max questioned his mother. Sadness could be seen in Mizuka’s eyes as she continued talking about Oboro.
“Is what good or bad?” Mizuka asked; trying to understand what her son was asking.
Max was sitting on his bed and his mother sat beside him. He turned his attention from her and looked out of the window. “Is it a good thing to be born on the same day your father dies?”
Mizuka was caught off guard. She certainly didn’t expect Max to ask such a question. She gave a fake smile when Max looked back at her. She didn’t really have an answer. “Maybe you should get some rest… Max.”
Max smirked and stood up after his mother. He pulled the covers off of his bed for a little and laid down. His mother put the covers over him. Max felt that he was too old to be getting this kind of treatment, but would never say anything. This was what made her happy… seeing her son everyday.
Mizuka kissed Max on his forehead and walked towards his bedroom door. Max watched her as she stopped at the door. She turned the lights off and looked at Max. “Max…” She said; getting him to pay attention to her even more.
“If it wasn’t for you coming into this world the same day your father died… I would be sad. But, you… you’re my bundle of joy.” She told him with a smile; tears slowly running down her cheeks. Max smiled and closed his eyes as his mother walked out. A single tear ran down his face.
…The Next Day…
“Working hard, are ya?” A man in a black uniform said to Max. He was another Member of the Oboro Clan… the Ninja Squadron. He was actually the strongest ninja there. He was like an older brother to Max. His name was Tadashi.
“Yeah… I have to. I can’t let the Clan down…” Max replied. He seemed to be training; trying to make his Fire Element Stronger. He was also trying to get to the stage where he could release his Aura so that everyone could finally tell him what level Aura he had. The highest level Aura so far was the A++ Level. The only man to possess that was Oboro… Max’s father.
“So, did Mizuka ever tell you why we’re known as the Oboro Clan?” Tadashi asked. Max simply nodded and put his hands on his head.
“It’s because of the several heroic things my father did for Matsuzaki!” Max exclaimed.
Tadashi smiled. Max wasn’t just going to become a strong Shinobi or Elemental Fighter, but he was also going to be a bright scholar. …He’s definitely the result of a Hero’s Legacy… Tadashi thought to himself.
“Do you have to go on a mission today?” Max asked. He hoped he’d say no, but he knew that Tadashi would be back either way.
“Yeah… I do. I was supposed to be going to one of the other villages, but I wanted to check up on you and Mizuka.” He explained to Max. “But, now that you mention it… I should be leaving now. I’ll see you around tomorrow…”
With that being said, Tadashi ran off. He was running quickly through the busy village and swiftly as well. Max could only think of one thing. “Oboro Hwoarang… I want to be just like you so that I can protect everyone and go on missions with Tadashi.”

Good start, but I caught a mistake:
"Until… he was mysteriously was killed."
You repeated the word 'was' two times there.
Other than that, I'm telling you I can't wait to read the other chapters =]

Chapter 2
Mizuka’s Vision
“Are you afraid?” A dark, feminine voice said.
“If you are… You shouldn’t be. You’ll die soon enough…” A dark, masculine voice said this time.
“I cannot be afraid. I have a son and he will surpass his father. Even if I die, here…” This time, the voice belonged to Mizuka.
“I see!” The two voices shouted.
The voices stopped as Mizuka jumped and sat up in her bed. The covers covered her legs as she looked around her dark room; panting. “Angel and Death…”
…Four hours later…
“It’s only three in the morning?” Max asked himself; staring at the digital clock on the small dresser by his bed.
He sighed and rubbed his eyes before pulling the covers off of him. After that, he literally jumped out of his bed. “Mom will be wondering while I am up this late… but, she won’t be mad at me. Today, I turn fifteen.”
Max had a smile on his face, but once he walked out of his door… he was the one surprised. His mother’s door was wide open. He rushed into the room to see if she was in there, but she wasn’t.
“…Where the hell could she be?” Max asked himself aloud. He was pissed. “Who is trying to take my mother away from me?”
Tears quickly raced down his face, but it did not have an affect on his voice. After searching every part of her room, he looked outside. A bright white light blinded him.
“What’s going on?” Max asked. He then found a piece of paper on the floor. Three words were on it… “Angel and Death?”
Max obviously didn’t know what it meant. It was his mother’s handwriting however. He stormed out of her room and ran downstairs. When he got outside, all the villagers were standing around. They were trying to find out what was going on.
In the dark sky was a huge black diamond. It was see-through. That was if you looked close enough. Max began staring at the diamond and his eyes widened. “Mom?”
“You should know by now, who we are,” Said a dark, feminine voice. A girl wearing all white now appeared in the diamond. She had white hair as well. Nothing else could be determined by how she looked. Only Mizuka could see them close up right now. A boy with black hair wearing all black appeared inside the diamond beside the girl.
“Yes… I know exactly who you are… Tenshi and Takai!” She yelled.
“You do realize that no one outside this diamond can hear you. If you didn’t, now you know…” The boy, Takai told Mizuka. She frowned.
“What do you need me for?” Mizuka questioned. Unlike Takai and Tenshi, she wasn’t amused. She didn’t care to know about the effects of the diamond.
“No small talk?” The girl, Tenshi asked. She grinned and seemingly floated towards Mizuka. She was close enough to put her hands on Mizuka’s shoulders now.
“Get to it!” Mizuka screamed. She was obviously losing her patience.
“You’re not the person we need…” Takai began. Mizuka looked behind Tenshi and stared at him. If she didn’t want her then… “Max?”
“Precisely…” Tenshi said in response. “The only reason you’re here now is because… you have been granted a gift to see into the Mirai.”
“A gift? If you think me being able to see into the future is a gift, you’re terribly mistaken,” Mizuka said. “If it wasn’t for this gift, I wouldn’t be in this situation.
“You’re right… But, if you knew how to use it, you would have been able to save your husband,” said Takai with an evil grin. He then gave a nod at Tenshi.
“Looks like it is your time to go…” Tenshi said. She almost sounded sad, but she couldn’t have been. She had a smirk upon her face. “With a kiss… I can reveal your spirit.”
“And once your spirit is shown to the angel, the woman who gives you life… It is shown to the demon, the man who brings death!” Takai shouted. His began to change from calm to sounding as if he was possessed.
Suddenly, they came from out of the diamond. They flew around it. “Yin and Yang: Spirit Breaker!” They both yelled together.
“Who are they?” Max asked aloud. He hoped someone knew. No one answered. They were too scared to do anything. None of them were Ninja. Considering Tadashi left earlier that day and all the rest of the ninja hadn’t come around. Max could only assume the worse.
“All the ninja have been killed!” A boy shouted. By the tone of his voice, you could tell that he was tired of running and was panicking.
“Shin?” Max thought to himself. He then ran towards his friend. Shin stopped and bent over; putting his hands on his knees.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but I wish Tadashi was around right now,” Shin said; panting in between every word.
“You’re not the only one. All I know is that I won’t lose another parent!” Max shouted. He jumped on top of a house and ran until he got close to house directly under the diamond. He was trying to get a better look. “I have to try this…”
With those last words, Max put both of his hands together. His hands were spread out as a red flame appeared in between both of his hands. “Fire-“
Before he could even say the rest of his sentence, that same white light blinded him and the other villages for a few seconds. He put his arm over his eyes and shut them. As the light faded, Max slowly opened his eyes. When he looked up, nothing was there. No diamond, no angel, no death, and no Mizuka.

I can see things have become very interesting and mysterious simultaneously. However, I am not sure I got all of the stuff in the 2nd part:
"And with once your spirit is shown to the angel, the woman who gives you life… It is shown to the demon, the man who brings death!" - what is that supposed to mean?
“All the ninja have been killed!” A boy shouted. - Is this boy Shin?

Take out the with in that and things should make more since. If not, Tenshi means Angel in Japanese. So, she represents life. Takai means death in Japanese, so he represents death. Mizuka's spirit was shown to the Angel, and was destroyed by the demon.
“All the ninja have been killed!” A boy shouted. - Is this boy Shin?
And yes, that was Shin.

Chapter 3
Angel & Death’s meaning
Hours after the death of his mother, Max lay on his mother’s bed. No emotion… no words… nothing. It was quiet in his house, but outside there was nothing but noise. Suddenly, there was a knock on his door. He waited for them to knock three times before getting up and walking downstairs. By the time, he got close to the door, it was knocked down.
“Max… are you alright?” Tadashi asked. He put his hands on Max’s shoulder and hoped that he wasn’t too affected by the death of his mother. He knew he would be nonetheless.
“I’ll never be alright…” Max replied; no emotion in his voice at all. He almost seemed like a lifeless body or soul.
“Don’t be that way,” Tadashi said. “I know it is going to take some time for you to recover from this loss. I know you feel alone right now. I know how it is… but in order for me to understand you fully, you can’t let this loss change you.”
“You don’t know how I feel. You don’t know how it is to lose your father the day you were born and to lose your mother on the day of your birthday!” Max yelled in response. Little emotion could be heard now. A mixture of anger and sadness.
“I apologize.” Tadashi replied. He then walked towards the living room couch. “Do you have a clue to whom…”
“Yes.” Max responded. He didn’t want to hear Tadashi say it. He didn’t want to accept the fact that someone killed his mother.
Max walked upstairs towards his mother’s room, her old room. Tadashi was following two steps behind him. Max walked towards the window where he had found the piece of paper and handed it to Tadashi.
“Angel and Death?” Tadashi said in question. “Was that their names?”
Max shrugged. He didn’t know if that was their names or not. However, Max found it weird that she’d write such a thing on a piece of paper. Was it a clue?
“Let me tell you something about your mother, Max.” Tadashi said to him as he put his left hand on Max’s right shoulder. The piece of paper was in his right hand. “Your mother was special. She didn’t have any elemental powers. She wasn’t an elemental fighter, ninja or both like I am. Like you’ll be…”
Max’s fists tightened up. “Then, what was so special about her? Other than the fact that she was honest, loving, caring and trustworthy?”
“Just shut up and listen,” Tadashi said as he walked over to Mizuka’s bed and sat down. He sighed before continuing on, “She had the power to see into the future. Or as most people say, the Mirai.”
“The Mirai? That must be Japanese for future…” Max replied and looked out of the window.
“It is…” Tadashi responded. “She knew she was going to die. She had no regrets. She lived an honest life. Now, she’ll finally get to see her husband… your father again. I am sure she is happy that she’s gone instead of you.”
“What!?” Max shouted. “She’s happy? What about me? I’m the one left behind. Who gives a damn about Oboro anyway?”
“Stop being so selfish!” Tadashi shouted back. “Look…”
“No!” Max yelled. He seemed to calm down a little after that. “If I wouldn’t have just looked at that diamond, maybe I could have saved her.”
“Don’t be so hard on yourself. There’s nothing you or anyone else could have done. Whoever came into this village murdered not just your mother, but countless of other kids parents. You are aware of the losses of the ninja, right?” Tadashi asked Max. Max nodded.
“What I am trying to tell you is… don’t go around shouting about who you have lost. I am sure everyone in this village suffered a terrible loss. Especially early this morning.” Tadashi explained to him. Max just stood there; thinking about everything Tadashi was telling him.
“Alright…” Tadashi said; standing up. “I guess I’ll go around looking for any more clues on these Angel and Death characters. Take care… Max. Don’t forget… most people’s names nowadays have meanings.”
With that, Tadashi jumped out of the window and began running through the village. Max watched as he ran and then clenched his fists. Suddenly, a little bit of red, gold and black aura surrounded his right hand. The red was more than likely coming from his Fire Element Technique, The Fire Punch. However, the gold and black coloring could be his aura. If it is… That means his is S-Class.
Later that evening, approximately around seven-thirty, Max was out of his house. He left the house with the intention of never going back. He had a letter in his bag from Tadashi. He offered Max a new home. A place that he could return to so that he wouldn’t be living all by himself.
“Do you like the food, Max?” Tadashi asked him with a smile as he began eating.
Max just stared at it. He didn’t even start yet. In front of him was Sobameshi, Rice Cakes, and sweet tea. Max didn’t know what it was. He was mistaking the Sobameshi for Ramen. He finally decided to speak up. “What is this?”
Tadashi smirked. “I was wondering when you were going to ask. I am sure you know what Rice Cakes and sweet tea are. I’ll just go into detail with the Sobameshi.”
“Sobameshi?” Max repeated in a questioning tone. His mother never made this before.
“Yes,” Tadashi said. “Sobameshi is Japanese fried noodles with rice which originated in the western region of Japan. Soba indicates chukka noodles and meshi means cooked rice in this dish. So, now that you know… whenever you have leftover rice, try Sobameshi recipe.”
After finishing his explanation, he stared at Max; waiting for him to take a bite of his food. A smile slowly formed his lips as Max ate a forkful.
“Well?” Tadashi questioned.
“It’s delicious!” Max exclaimed.
“I’m glad that you like it so much,” said Tadashi.
Fifteen minutes passed and Max decided to go to bed early. He wasn’t sleep just yet, but he was on his way. Until… he heard voices outside of the guestroom door.
“Tadashi… why would you try to care for another?” Said a male voice. It sounded like the monk that leads the village. “You’re far too busy to watch over him.”
“Are you saying I should have just let him stay in that house by himself? He would have been corrupted.” Tadashi replied; a slight hint of anger in his voice.
“When have you ever cared about someone becoming corrupted? Being haunted, being alone?” The monk questioned.
“I’ve always cared. You’re just too blind to see that,” Tadashi said.
“I am sending you on a mission. I am sure that those who killed Miss Mizuka and the Ninja haven’t left just yet.” The monk told Tadashi.
“What do you think they’re after?” Tadashi asked the monk.
A frown formed on the monk’s face. “The question isn’t what they’re after. It is who they’re after.”
“Max?” Tadashi questioned. The monk nodded.
“We may have to banish him from the village. As long as he is here, they’ll continue to come for him. Either that, or you’ll have to dispose of him with your own two hands.” The monk informed Tadashi.
“Kill someone who is like a little brother to me? Banishment? Why do we have to resort to such things?” Tadashi shouted. He knew the monk didn’t really care about what happened to Max. Regardless of him being Oboro’s son or not. There was no remorse in his voice.
“I don’t want to talk about this anymore Tadashi. My orders are final. If you don’t like them, I’ll kill Shin!” The monk shouted.
“No… I apologize. Just don’t hurt my little brother… He’s the only blood I have left,” said Tadashi.
“I figured you’d get back in line… Now, I don’t want to see Max tomorrow. If I do… you know what I’ll do.” The monk wasn’t pure-hearted at all. He seemed evil to Max as he listened to the two’s conversation.
“Understood…” Tadashi replied. After that, the monk left the house. Tadashi clenched his fists and walked towards the guestroom. He was wielding his Katana. Nevertheless, Max wasn’t there. Neither were his personal items.
Max was running towards the mountain. He showed no emotion. No tears were in his eyes and no sign of anger. He wouldn’t hate Tadashi, but he wouldn’t trust him either. Before Max could make it all the way to the mountain, he was stopped by two twins. One with white hair, all white clothing, and she had snow white eyes. The other twin was a boy with black hair, all black clothing and pitch black eyes.
“Why are you running away from your home?” The girl asked him.
“I have no home…” Max replied. Not once did he think about the two figures that were in the diamond with his mother. “Who are you two?”
“I am Tenshi…” The girl answered. “And this is my fraternal twin, Takai.”
“Tenshi and Takai?” Max questioned.
Takai stepped forward; his hands in his pockets. “You must be Max Hwoarang, son of Oboro.”
“Yeah, that’s me. I don’t see what’s so great having that name though. Ever since I found out about my father, bad things have happened.” Max responded. He wasn’t happy at all about whom he was… who his father was.
“I see,” Tenshi said. “If you want good things to happen… you should go into the Mountain.”
“What’s in the mountain?” Max questioned her.
“Inside of it is a sword.” Takai replied. Max quickly turned his attention from Tenshi and towards Takai. “If you can pull that sword out of the rock, you will be granted two wishes.”
“Wishes?” Max asked.
“You’re handsome, but you ask way too many questions,” Tenshi said; a hint of irritation and impatience could be heard in her voice. She was cut short on what she was going to say because Takai elbowed her in the arm.
“I apologize for my sister. She isn’t as patient as I am.” Takai informed Max. “As I was saying… you could wish for anything. A chance to bring your mother back to life… and even your father.”
Max’s eyes widened. He thought it was impossible to bring people back to life. From Takai’s point of view, it was definitely possible.
Truthfully, Max didn’t care much about seeing his father. He’d just be expected of more. Max didn’t want to carry that burden. However, he did want to see his mother again and tell him how sorry he was.
“Thank you…” Max replied. The twins did a fake smile and moved to the sides. Showing a clear path for Max to walk.
“We expect to see you again, Max Hwoarang.” Takai said to him as he walked past him. Max nodded and continued to walk.
“In the next life that is.” Tenshi mumbled.
As Max walked, he looked back once. No signs of the twins. He just looked forward and shook his head. “Man… those two were odd.”
High in the sky were the twins. They were looking down at the village. “I have a feeling he’ll surpass father’s expectations,” said Takai.
“We have to refer to him as Master, not father. And, I doubt it. He won’t be able to wield that legendary sword. Not even his pitiful father could.” Tenshi replied.
Meanwhile, inside the somewhat dark cave of the mountain was Max. There was no life in the mountain but for some odd reason, it felt great in there to Max. The wind, the smell, the peace were the only words Max could think of as he walked deeper into the mountain. He didn’t have to walk long before seeing a sword. It looked old. As if it was affected by erosion.
“Well… this must be it.” Max said to himself as he stepped in front of the sword. The sharp end of the sword was stuck into the ground. It looked impossible to pull out. Max grabbed the hilt of the sword with both of his hands and pulled. It felt as if it didn’t budge, but lava was seeping through the cracks in the ground.
“What the hell? Did they try to set me up? They’re trying to kill me.” Max thought to himself. Then, his eyes widened. “Tenshi and Takai…”
Max began thinking of his conversation with Tadashi when he was in his mother’s room. “Don’t forget… Most people’s names nowadays have meanings.”
“Everyone’s names mean something nowadays.” Max said aloud. His eyes closed as he tried to think of what he had learned from his mother. When he thought about that piece of paper, he knew why she wrote those two words on it. “In Japanese, Tenshi means Angel and Takai means death!”
“Looks like he fell for it…” Tenshi began. Takai looked at the mountain closely and his eyes widened.
“Don’t you feel that?” Takai questioned.
Around Max was gold and black aura. The lava got closer and closer to him. Once the lava was near his feet, the mountain exploded. The last thing heard, was a loud, crackling roar from a dragon.
“So it is as I foresaw.” A male said to himself, an evil grin on his face. He almost sounded like the monk, but he sure didn’t look like him. “Tenshi and Takai… it is time.”
“Lord Monk,” said Tadashi as he burst through the door. When he got inside he felt sick. As if he was about to die. He looked at the man sitting in the chair and his eyes widened. “You’ve been behind this the whole time… Matsumoto.”
After those last few words, blood was splattered across the office room.
“Are you ready, sister?” Takai asked.
“Aren’t I always?” Tenshi replied.
The two circled around once again, similar to the way they did around the diamond. “Yin and Yang: From the Inside Out Annihilation!”
With that being yelled in unison, the village and its people almost instantaneously exploded. Nothing but destruction was left. “The rest is yours… master.” The Fraternal Twins said as they disappeared.
After a few hours, Max was laying on the guestroom bed in Tadashi’s house. The sword was in his right hand as he woke up. He had no clue how he ended up back inside the house, but came to the conclusion that Tadashi refused to listen to what the monk said and brought him back. However, when he walked outside of the bedroom door, he saw a trail of blood.
“No…” Max whispered to himself. The trail stopped downstairs at the door… next to Tadashi’s lifeless body. “Who did this?”
“You did…” A familiar sounding voice said. It was twelve at night and it wasn’t that much light in the house. When the man clicked the light switch, he was revealed to be the monk.
“That sword you have is wicked and persuaded you to kill everyone in the village. Luckily for me, you fell out unconscious before you could continue with the bloodshed.
“Those twins… I shouldn’t have listened to them,” Max said to himself. Tears escaped his eyes even though he tried hard to hold them back.
“What twins?” The monk questioned. He slowly pulled out the same piece of paper that Max’s mother wrote on. Max didn’t think about how he had gotten it. He just assumed that he got it from Tadashi. “Are you referring to Angel and Death?”
“Yes… but I found out their real names. Which is Tenshi, the girl and Takai, the boy…” Max told the monk.
“He found out so much, with so little time. At this rate, if I allow him to live and stay in this village, he’d be a threat to my plans. I can’t kill him right now… not as long as he has the sword with him. Not to mention, he and the dragon are a perfect match. They both have S-Class aura.” The monk thought to himself. He then walked closer to Max. He scolded him.
“I cannot allow you to stay in this village, Max Hwoarang!” Max opened his eyes and quickly looked up and looked at the monk. The cold scold that he was giving Max wouldn’t be taken lightly. He was serious… dead serious.
Max slowly stood to his feet and stared at Tadashi’s body. Before he ran out of the house, he grabbed Tadashi’s katana.
“And that was the most devastating experience in my life.”
