I finally caught my own Ho-oh in Heart Gold. Technically I have been able to catch Ho-oh since I bought Colosseum a few years ago (you get one after defeating all 100 trainers at Mount Battle), though now I have my own.

I got a Lugia I can trade over from Gales of Darkness though I would prefer to also catch one in Heart Gold as well.

Btw, yesterday, I got a shiny Ponyta in my Diamond 8D
This Diamond game is magical! I have encountered a shiny Dialga, a shiny Meditite, a shiny Skuntank, a shiny Unown, a shiny Gastrodon, and now a shiny Ponyta! (with no chaining!)

I like all my shinies especially my Dialga! =D
But yeah, I am starting to think shiny Pokemon are nothing special, especially with their weird colours.

Actually, it is very possible - they simply have to monitor everything through the database. If a program detects something, a staff can check it out, and ban you if hey please. PM aren't encrypted or anything, I can look at any one person's PMs by going into Pokezam's database, as can any Site Admin (assuming they set the forum up themselves).

In an exclusive press release earlier this morning, Nintendo announced that while testing Pokemon Platinum they had, in fact, discovered a glitch in which one could obtain a level 100 Shaymin through a few simple tests. Instead of getting rid of it, NoA decided to keep it as an Easter Egg.

The steps, they say, are simple:

1. Pick Chimchar as your starter
2. Give your Chimchar ro its evolutions a potion to hold
3. Follow the same process to get Spiritomb, except meet 50 people Underground
4. A level 100 Shaymin will appear instead of a Spiritomb

That was a very old, very uncreative April Fools joke, FYI. I explained why on PIForums when someone else mentioned it, and I may as well here, too (except slightly better):

While it is not necessarily impossible for Nintendo to announce a glitch that does not affect the vast majority of its fair-playing customers (the best example of this is the Berry Glitch in R/S), it would be very rare for them to announce what would be an incredibly futile, and possibly unexploited glitch. Nor would they "announce" it all, but would rather add it to a list of FAQs, or answer questions about it in public forums, e.g. E3, interviews, etc.

What is also odd, to put it lightly, about this glitch is the fact that it doesn't meet the common criteria of a Glitch, i.e. being an error in the handling or storing of data in memory. In this glitch, the only way this could actually be exploited is not if Chimchar holds a Potion, but rather that any Pokemon holds an item of its equivalent hex value, and then meet the number of people that would also match this value. Next, the Pokemon's level that you meat would not be 100, but would instead also match a certain hex value. In this case, it might be that of a trainer you battled, a move that the Chimchar knows, or something similar. Plus, its level would not be 100, but once again matching a hex value of something, possibly Chimchar's stat or move, or it could instead just be that of one of the Pokemon in that route. This is how the Mew Glitch from the first generation was exploited.

Now, it is possible for certain glitches to have absolutely nothing to do with the above handling of data in memory, and simply be an oversight of the programmers. The most recent example of this was in Diamond and Pearl, where you could surf through the first elite four's door. An employee accidentally made the door surfable. However, everything else following was based on your position in a heaven above. Think about it as though you have no walls, and can go anywhere you want. Then, when you are where you want, dive down into the underground. When you come back, you will be in the same place as the heaven, but at the normal surface level.

I agree, up to a point. I had a long conversation with my aunt who is a doctor and she pointed out that all medicines and vaccines have side effects. She also got into a bit of details about the Swine Flu vaccine:


The danger of the swine flu vaccination is the same danger that can occur with other vaccations as well as with any viral illness. The syndrome is called GBS - and can cause weakness in the muscles of the body and occasionally death (rarely).

Every medicine has risks as do all vaccines...but this news is certainly not a reason to completely exclude one from getting the swine flu vaccine. Vaccines, although sometimes can cause side effects, have also been responsible for saving millions of lives. One has to just make a personal judgement as to what they think is best for themselves and their family.
So I kinda agree now that those news I heard might not be certified.

Well I was right the first time in that breaking the records in the Pokethlon in HG/SS was fairly easy. I now have a three star trainer card which is Lilac Purple much as Nightwing's name is currently.

Also Nightwing I'll be rooting for your Bobcats to, at the very least, have a winning season. The Panthers are just looking so bad right now and unless they bench Delhomme, they may not even be a .500 team.

Edit: Maybe it's me though I'm not a fan of Shiny Shaymin. In fact off hand there are only a few shiny Pokemon I like. Bulbasaur, Mew, Oddish, and Camerupt...

Yes I did. I was surprised watching last night's game. See my dad and uncle are both huge Cowboys fans going back to the 70's when they were teenagers.

For starters, it was the Panthers getting the majority of the penalties instead of Dallas (shocker), because mostly it's Dallas always getting constant off-sides and holding calls. Second, it was a low scoring game up until the end which was lame.

Personally, I would only soft-reset in order to get better IVs. In fact, many competitive battlers will say they simply ignored several shinies because their IVs weren't even close to being all 31.
