Mario has had many careers and appearances, however he is best known for his role in the classic Mario games, where he has saved princess upon princess, beaten bowser upon bowser, and been crowned the Mushroom Kingdom here. Which of these installments is your favorite?
Mario Bros.
Initial Release: 1983
Platform(s): Arcade Systems, NES, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Gameboy (Super Mario Land Remake), Gameboy Advance (Mario Advance and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Sega Remakes), Gamecube (SSBM Remake), Wii (SSBB Remake)
Additional Notes: This game is not really a side-scroller, but is close enough.

Additional Notes: This game was actually a different Japanese game, released in America with Mario's name. It was also later released as Super Mario Bros. 2 USA in Japan.
