This is a detailed explanation of usergroups. To view the original thread, click here (http://www.pokezam.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4673).

Most forums use a system of user groups which define the posting privileges of different users on the forum. The Pokezam Forums are no different. However, what exactly goes into each of the different user groups? And what exactly can they do? If you are curious, keep reading. If not, there really is no other significance to this thread.

Unregistered Users / Guests
An unregistered user, often called a guest, lacks many priviledges that registered users have. All they can do is view the forum. Tasks like searching the forums, viewing member profiles, playing games in the arcade, viewing online users, and of course posting is off-limits. Also, certain forums may be restricted from viewing with this usergroup.

Awaiting Confirmation
When you do register, you will find the most common of tasks, such as editing your profile, private messaging (though you will only be able to have 50 messages), and playing in the arcade to be incredibly easy. However, you will still need to confirm an email that was sent to your address, and then be confirmed by the staff, before you can post. None the less, once you confirm the email, you shouldn't have to wait more than 24 hours to post in the forums.

Registered User
A registered user is one that can finally post. In addition to that, they will be to track private messages, and have a total of 3,000. Other than this, they are basically the same of a user awaiting confirmation.

Non-Mod Elite / Staff
When you show that you are a worthy user, you may be offered a position as a non-mod elite. In this position, you can have 10,000 private messages, instead of 3,000 as a registered user, are allowed to have larger signatures, will have access to special forums where many decisions about Pokezam are made, and will be able to view the IP of all members.

Moderator
Moderators are people who can delete, sticky, and close threads, and delete posts. They usually can only do this for just a few forums. To become a part of this group, you will usually have to be fairly active first, show good grammar and spelling, and follow the rules.

Global Moderator
Global Moderators can manage threads and posts in all forums, not just a few as with a normal moderator. They also are more powerful in other areas of the forum - such as being able to ban users, manage scores in the arcade, modify profile messages, delete social groups, and so on.

Partial Administrators
Partial Administrators are able to perform a few of many Administrative tasks on the Pokezam forums. They usually can add new moderators, approve users, and do everything global moderators can. Users in this group will have to have shown overall excellent ability.

Administrator
Administrators, also called "Founders" on some forums, are able to perform all administrative tasks. They also can manage what administrative tasks other administrators have. Plus, they can close the forum temporally, upgrade and add software, and more. Usually users in this group will have had to have shown excellent moderating abilities, and will have needed to be a part of the forums for years.

Banned Users
Banned users can not post, participate in community activities, or private messages. Users here have broken the rules of the forum in one way or another, and usually will only be in this group for a few more days or weeks.

Miserable Users
When users act troll-like, they will often be added to this usergroup, which causes the forum to act overall funky. This is usually a precautionary measure to make sure users do not try to log in to their account.
