View Full Version : Billy Mays, Michael Jackson Die at 50

Though its old news now, I figured it might be good to have a threat acknowledging the deaths of both Micheal Jackson, legendary 80s pop musician, and Billy Mays, famous for his job as a pitch man.
Michael Jackson died of prescription drug overdose. His personal doctor has given him the drugs, and was slow to call 911 because there was not a working phone.
Billy Mays died in his sleep after head trauma from luggage falling on a flight the previous night. He reported having a headache to his wife before going to bed, and was later by dead by her.

Yeah, I read about Billy Mays sometime Monday or Sunday. Can't think of which day, but man... I found it odd that two people that a lot of people looked up to died in the same month, the same year, and at the same age. I have a feeling those who know about both deaths will go around talking about how the end of the world is coming for sure now. Anyway...
Rest In Peace Michael Jackson and Billy Mays. Both of you will be missed.

Farrah has been in ailing health for a while, everyone knew she would be gone soon anyway. And, Ed McMahon is also notably old.

Billy Mays is a Pitchman. One of the greatest actually. Him and his partner are supposed to be the best two Pitchman's in the country. However, now only one of those Pitchman are alive. With that said, I'm watching the Billy Mays Pitchman tribute right now.

Anthony Sullivan?
Neo Pikachu
07-02-2009, 12:29 AM
Anthony Sullivan was Billy Mays rival. They were both Pitchman and were competing against one another. Anthony Sullivan would make a product and try to promote it as soon as Billy Mays did. They were going at it for a while.
Then, one of the directors who knew both Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan decided that they'd make a better team. So, they've been partners ever since. Making inventions together. Since the fans liked how Billy Mays spoke more, Anthony felt Billy Mays should get more camera time while he worked behind the scenes.
They probably had one of the greatest business relationships ever. Not to mention that they were good friends. Anthony must be feeling bad right now.

Yeah, who knows? He could possibly retire. I know it must be hard to get on the set and not see one of your best friends there. Then again, he may continue working there and act as if Billy Mays is with him the whole time.
Looks like Michael Jackson's mother is getting the children.

I would actually think he'll keep on going, both to continue to the memory of Mays, but also because it is somewhat his life.

What about the children's mother?! I am starting to highly detest the United States civil court system.

Oh, no. I didn't mean it like that. I meant that he'd feel as if Billy Mays is with him all the way when he is on the set and even possibly off the set sometimes. Kind of how the Washington Redskins acted as if Sean Taylor was on the field in their last regular season game against the Bills two seasons ago.
I said, Michael Jackson's will had it so that if anything happens to him, his mother gets his kids.

Hm... I haven't been following the story that closely, but I had though their mother had also wanted them. True, ...or not?
hey did they find the scientist who thought had something to do with his murder?
If you mean his doctor, I don't believe he had ever been incognito in the first place. He was just being questioned as it seemed possible that he waited too long to call 911.
Palmo

oh cause they said they gave him morphine an hour before his death so they kinda think he had something to do with it.

Michael Jackson's nurse had also mentioned some time yesterday that Michael Jackson consistently BEGGED her for some medication because he wasn't feeling good, or he didn't have a lot of energy. Maybe he couldn't get any sleep. That is certainly possible.
However, she still said whoever gave him the medication is in the wrong because for one, it wasn't his usual doctor. No one didn't even know he spoke to another doctor outside his Nurse. Or that was until the incident of course.
I found it weird that another man had to call in, while the doctor tried CPR on Mr. Jackson. Then, before the police and stuff came, the doctor had disappeared. It is a interesting story indeed.

I don't know if they're still searching for him. They probably caught up with him by now though. Haven't been following the whole case. As I've been trying to look at more than just the death of Michael Jackson, but Billy Mays as well. Not to mention the stimulus bill thing and Obama. Man, so many things going on at one time.
And FW, Michael's mother more than likely did want to keep his children with him. I figured they'd be better off with either her or Janet.

The Congress passed a $787 billion economic stimulus package on February 13 (http://www.mahalo.com/february-13), 2009 (http://www.mahalo.com/2009). The measure passed in the House (http://www.mahalo.com/u-s-house-of-representatives) with no Republican votes (http://www.mahalo.com/republican-party). Three Republican senators, Susan Collins (http://www.mahalo.com/susan-collins), Olympia Snowe (http://www.mahalo.com/olympia-snowe) and Arlen Specter (http://www.mahalo.com/arlen-specter) joined the Democrats (http://www.mahalo.com/democratic-party) to pass the bill, by a vote of 60-38, in the Senate (http://www.mahalo.com/u-s-senate). President Barack Obama (http://www.mahalo.com/barack-obama), who originally drafted the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan (http://www.mahalo.com/american-recovery-and-reinvestment-plan), signed the bill into law on February 17 (http://www.mahalo.com/february-17), 2009 (http://www.mahalo.com/2009). On April 14 (http://www.mahalo.com/april-14), 2009, during a speech at Georgetown University (http://www.mahalo.com/georgetown-university), President Obama shared with the country that his stimulus package is beginning to "generate signs of economic progress." He cited the facts that workers are being hired and credit is beginning to flow. He also warned that tough times are not over for the American people.
For some reason, I don't feel as though I can explain what the what a Stimulus package. But, thats what happened with the one that was passed earlier this year.

But they were all given to him from his doctor to improve his health(From what I've heard), so he was not doing anything bad to himself.
Of course, he was over dosing a little, but his body probably built up an immunity to the drugs and it was necessary to increase the dose, although he should have consulted with his doctor first.

in a way it does seem like it is somewhat the doctors fault for giving him all the meds in the first place.

Which supports another fact: personal doctors don't have any morale (usually) if they bend the rules which means he could have also drugged him with something other than what MJ wanted.

When MJ passed away, I believe he got even more fame. I suppose he did it so he could be famous too and have better job I suppose. Or maybe MJ was going to fire him. Maybe MJ left some of his money to him.
