I am considering playing it as a Japanese ROM, however last time the wait to platinum seemed to almost vanish when school started. It was the first year in Junior High School, so unlike as I had planned, I hadn't downloaded the ROM. Naturally this time I will be going to a school I am more familiar with, however that not going to change the stress of it all.

Yeah, they are for the DS, with possible DSi functionality added (such as with the camera).

Most people who played the originals should remember you could hook it up to the gameboy printer to print pictures of your Pokemon. The same could be true here.

We won't for a while, though I'd imagine sometime in April/May 2010, or March if we're lucky.

Ah, I'm getting the ROM right off the bat. I still have the original GSC so if I get stuck I can take a reference from there.

The game is developed by Gamefreak, which is in Japan, so it only seems right that they get it first. In the same vein, Nintendo's main division is in Japan, so it makes sense they would be more willing to fund it on their home turf.

I should note that getting it months later leaves one major advantage open - the removal of glitches that exist in the Japanese version (or early Japanese versions), but not anywhere else.

To finish, we (North America) are the second market to get it - Australia and Europe both get it after us, meaning that it could be a lot worse.

Microsoft was founded and is headed in America, unlike Nintendo, so naturally released the Xbox here first. Sony also has consistently released its products in Japan first, as with Nintendo. The PS3 was only by 6 days, however we had to wait about 6 months for the PS2.
