Where do I find the guy who stole Elm's Pokemon?



This early in the game, and I'm already stumped :(

Go back to Cherrygrove then onto the very first route in the game. He will bump into you and challenge you with a starter at level 5. From there keep on that route and follow it to Newbark, enter Elm's lab, name your rival, and you're set!

I got a ??? for his name, so I entered that.

Well, you get to enter whatever you want. Essentially he will now be called ??? throughout the game, not just the first time when he is always called that, where if you were to enter "Silver" he would be called just that.
