View Full Version : When Did You Stop Watching?

As the titles suggests, I'm sure we've all watched the anime at one point or another, but at what point did you give it up? And if you're still watching religiously, what keeps you going for so long?

For me, I used to watch the series constantly, and it was around the Hoenn Saga that I got absolutely sick of seeing the same stuff over and over again. I noticed it happening during the whole Johto saga, but I hung on thinking they'd get out of that routine possibly sooner or later. Never did, so I moved on to other things.

I don't watch it frequently, but I sometimes watch the Sinnoh series now. Although, I never even saw the Battles he had with the last seven Gym Leaders. He hasn't gotten to the eighth yet, though.

And I passionately hate what they'd done to Pikachu. My god, he needs to find a better trainer before he somehow devolves into a Pichu. Or becomes dumber than a drunken three hundred year old chicken without a head.

I stopped when I was in 4th grade because the series was getting childish and repetitive. Can't they have just one person getting the crap beat out of them?

I stopped watching before I got bored of it - when it stopped airing.

I stopped watching a few episodes after the Sinnou sega started. Likewise, I also stopped watching during the Johto sega. Both segas were really rather boring without a whole lot new in them. However, I found both Indigo sega and the Hoenn sega to be very interesting, and rather fun to watch.

I wonder if there is still hope...

The only hope they have is asking me to write the next sega for them. :P

Nah, but I don't know. I hoped things would change after certain parts in the Johto Series, but it remained the same until today. With me being a Pokemon fan, I really do hope that things take a turn and this time for the better.

Maybe get rid of the weakest unit of team rocket ever, add some slightly more interesting battling styles, etc.

You are right, though. People frequently say the game never changes. Honestly, the Anime changes even less.

At least the games get better and more interesting though. I just get tired of the whole Jessie, James and Meowth scenes. Seeing them get blown away all the time is getting boring. Especially since they used to be good characters in the beginning of the Pokemon series. I thought they had a bright future back then, but they just get beat too easily. They need to stop chasing Pikachu all the time and go around causing mayhem elsewhere. Maybe reveal some other new Rocket members who can oppose Ash and Co.

I stopped a couple years ago when I stopped playing Pokemon but I wouldn't mind watching it now that I'm back into Pokemon...

To be honest, all the new episodes aren't really that bad. Some of them suck, but some of them are actually good if you take the time to watch it. And I am sure that there will be more good ones considering that Pokemon is the glue that is sticking Cartoonetwork together. 'Cuz every other show on Cartoonetwork, CN, and CNreal sucks hard.

I have actually been thinking the opposite - based on the suckularity of different CN shows, I am amazed that they are even airing Pokemon. It seems really out of place, and I have to think Nick would be better suited. Saturday Morning cartoons on channels like NBC, ABC, and Fox would also make sense, though I'm not sure if any of those do air such shows (ABC has some shows plucked from Disney Channel in the morning, though).

It's on July 15th at 10 AM in the U.S.

Cartoonetwork and Pokemon have been together for far too long to separate now. I don't care anymore though. It was better suited on Kids WB, but now KWB sucks too. I miss the old days. They need me and some others to take control of these companies. Perhaps, I could create a movie version of the Trial Of Juno. I'd do it just to make CN make it. However, I really think when CN has competition again, they'll step it up because right now there are no challenges.

Jetix has been took-over by Disney, I swear.

Yeah, I believe they have. Jetix used to be so free.

And, the only other good show on CN is Ben 10 and that gets boring depending on the episodes.

Anyway, perhaps we should get back to Pokemon or at least try to make an attempt to put the word, Pokemon in our posts if we're not going to focus on just Pokemon.

I'd like Digimon for once. They're pretty cool, much better plot than Pokemon.

I've never payed attention to Jetix, so I can't say what it was like before. In the same suit I've never watched Ben 10 or Digimon.

Really, I just stopped watching cartoons and animes all together when Yu-Gi-Oh was replaced with Yu-Gi-Oh something which has now been replaced with Yu-Gi-Oh something else (5D, I think), and at the same time Pokemon started going down the can, and at the same time Dragon Ball Z no longer had new episodes coming out, and at the same time many other animes I used to like to watch on CN no longer had episodes coming out (there was one I was really fascinated with, though I couldn't recall the name no matter what), and the same time CN started airing the stupidest cartoons ever ("Codename Kids Next Door" and "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" come to mind). It was a rather horrific chain lasting a few years, eventually causing me to now only watch sit-coms and the news.

('Pokemon', replacing 10-char as the hit new filler.)
