Recently announced at the 2009 E3 was New Super Mario Bros. Wii, a game which appears to bear heavy resemblance to New Super Mario Bros. DS, the original, and very successful, counterpart for the DS, which in itself included many features that were previously implemented in Super Mario 64, and later Super Mario Sunshine, including wall jumping, ground pounding, and the star coin system.

So, who here has played the version of this game for the DS, and what do you think you can expect for the Wii? If you have played the DS one, what do you think can be improved on? Also, multiplayer features were mentioned as a key selling point for the game. What do you think could be included here?

Here is a trailer of the new game:

I only know one fact: THIS GAME IS GONNA ROCK THE HOUSE! :D
Really, it is very awesome, and the multiplayer option allows for co-operation, and double the fun!

*Sigh* I posted a lot before I pressed the "Post Quick Reply" Button and then lost my connection. I won't be using the Quick Reply box when it comes to threads such as this. Anyway...

I think this game is going to be great. I haven't played Mario Games since N64 and GBC. I guess this is a good way to start back up again on my Mario Adventures. Heh, and with more than one player too. Oh, yeah! Me and my siblings and close friends are going to have some fun with this. It is going to bring back some old memories as well.

I wouldn't doubt that the multiplayer features are going to be one of the key selling points for it either.

Well, it is very original as to the DS version, as there appear to be many things new, but what I really am looking forward to is just seeing how expansive the game is. This is the first time there has been a sidescroller Mario game since Super Mario World (excluding those on handheld systems).
