In Pokemon Emerald, the ability to rebattle the various gym leaders across the region numerous times (well, 5 before they don't get any stronger) was presented. Later, though, in Diamond and Pearl this ability was removed entirely, not reimplemented until Platinum, but only one level-up would be encountered.
So, I'm curious, how do you think Gym Leaders should be rematched in future games? Should they at all, should they only in certain secretive places, or maybe should you even be able to rematch them in the field. Also, how many times do you think their Pokemons' levels should be raised, and arrond what level should it be maxed out at?
Personally, I think that gym leaders should be able to be rebattled 5 or more times going up into levels in the 80s, however the first rematch only being about ten levels higher than when you first battled them. I also feel that they should be rematched in their own gyms, but can't be until after beating the elite four. As for other events that might unlock levels, I can't think of any in particular.
