E3 begins tomorrow. Any big news you think will happen?

Considering the timing I would actually imagine Nintendo may release a few details on Pokemon Heart Gold / Soul Silver, or perhaps a second Wii Pokemon game. They may also make mention of another Mario Party game, as well.

On Microsoft's end, I doubt they'll be doing anything "new". Last time they completely ripped of Nintendo's Mii concept. Instead there is possibility of perhaps motion in the XBox (we know they're losing to Nintendo's Wii).

Sony, on the other hand, is what I'm expecting the real news from. There have been rumors of a new PSP, and that would definitely give them the crown.

It is important to note that Microsoft is the only company with its base in America, though. Sony and Nintendo both take first stage in Japan, however E3 has given news that even the Japanese didn't know about, so it should be interesting. Now, I need to find which channel G-4 is on Dish Network. Its in the 190s I think (194 comes to mind).

Edit: Whoops, 191 would be its location.
Edit2: Pokemon HG / SS, not Platinum

Sony is definitely going to have the best stuff. Nintendo is just getting old. Every E3, Nintendo unveils a new Sonic or Mario game. They really need to get some new ideas instead of leeching off their old ones.

And Microsoft is probably going to unveil something stupid like Halo 2.5: The Untold Saga.

NO!

Nintendo will live up to it's old glory this year, I'm hoping, and Sonic games became trash.

They will get a new game this year.

...I hope. I really do root for Nintendo.

And E3 this year will KICK ASS.

What "old glory"? Nintendo hasn't had one remotely exciting thing since they ended Megaman!

Ever 'eard of the Wii :P Actually, I never played the MegaMan games, though from what I've seen they didn't look too terribly appealing.

Personally, I think that Wii-Fit was actually a pretty good item two E3s ago, however Nintendo really didn't have crap this last time.

A Beatles Rock Band is being made. I guess that's okay.

I won't be able to watch the E3 conferences for Sony and Nintendo as I will be asleep (midnight here)
Get me a patch of what they say!

I really do hope Nintendo doesn't fail this year.

Anyway, Rock Band using Beatles? No. Won't work. People who play Rock Band like R 'n' B. In theory.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii was announced. I had a lot of fun with the first one.

Yeah, Mario is cool, but I'd really like if Nintendo were to unveil something new, something big, a real masterpiece... I do believe that Nintendo could do it, when they'd focus on making new stuff instead of recycling old.

I'll tell you that the game alone was more than I expected. Also a Kingdom Hearts DS was shown and a Golden Sun DS.

Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Yeah, I'll probably buy Kingdom Hearts for DS.

EDIT: My fears have come true - the Nintendo conference sucked. 8(

It was far better than what I expected.

Nintendo can and has done better.

Oh yeah, and Jared; just have in mind that Nintendo is the only Sony's competition, which is great by itself.

Let's hope Sony has something new.

So far they mostly have sequels, but that's really all you can expect at the moment. Because of economics, the gaming companies haven't had the budget to make new things.

And I saw the pictures of the PSPGo. It looks like a waste of money...

I'm really hoping that Sony tells us that there will be a firmware update that allows full backwards compatibility to PS2 games. Then I could fulfill my original plan to sell my PS1, 2, and controllers to get the money for a PS3.

Teeeee-heee, I might sell my Wii... Basically because I can't beat Resident Evil 4 on ANY difficulty.

Yeah, it sounds very interesting. I'm kinda interested, though it does seem to suck.

Freakin' Awesome! Now I really want to get a Wii. Um... I'm too lazy to read my original post, but hadn't I predicted a sequel for either the DS or the Wii.

Yeah, I'll probably buy Kingdom Hearts for DS.

Indeed...

It was far better than what I expected.

Also true :P

What is it?

Hm... I'm still hoping for a Paper Mario DS. Paper Mario was an awesome-sauce game, but is fairly old now.

Paper Mario had like friggin twenty sequels. =P

Though, if I remember right, the two was fairly easy, then the last boss was untouchable. It makes you curse on Nintendo.

Yeah, I wish it had more than the two it did. It really made it feel empty.

However, you are right that the Shadow Queen, as she is called, is an unexpected surprise when you get used to the first 7 bosses. In fact, the one that came before her was only about half as hard, not the progressive 15% harder. So, you can say that again.

The thing I hate about some games: You enter a level, and the exit is 5 meters away. You walk 2 steps, and a trap door opens or something like that and you end up having to travel five miles battling hordes of the strongest enemy.

Those dastards.

They're saying Nintendo failed (again) in the conference. Details please?

Well, they didn't introduce any really cool new technologies. However, they did introduce two Mario Wii games, one a sequel to Super Mario Galaxy, and another a "classic"-style (also called a side-scroller) game. Both look really cool. Also I finally know when Mario and Luigi 3 will come out, which I have been wanting to get my hands on.

I give them a C. At least there were a few mildly interesting things. Those who say they failed set the bar too high. Last year flat out failed between the saleswoman talking way too much and the big surprises being WiiMusic and Shaun White Snowboarding.

Well, failed and getting an F are different things in my mind. Just the same, last year an F is perhaps giving them too much credit, as they truly had nothing of substantial interest.

Of course. It's expected sometime in 2010, I would expect late 2010.
