More details of the Gold/Silver remake have been released. First of all, a new female character will be taking the role, while the male character remains stationary.
Second of all, it can be fairly well confirmed that your starter will follow you as you travel through Johto. However, it is not yet known if this can be done with multiple Pokemon at once, with any Pokemon beyond your starter, with your starter's evolutions, and so on. Naturally, this feature was first implemented back in Pokemon Yellow, all the way back in the First Generation, with Pikachu following you around. More recently, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum have had amity square for several Pokemon.
The third noteworthy change is that now when entering important buildings, a banner will be shown before entering the building, much like FireRed and LeafGreen. Fourth and finally, an event seems to take place in Ilex Forest which can be activitated in Japan by getting a ticket for the twelve movie. This event, as some people has speculated long before the names for the remake were even known, will involve the notched-ear and shiny Pichus.
