Here's what I think on swine flu: It will do nothing. It's proper name is N1H1, and if you remember, that's the same as the Bird flu, hinting that they're the same thing. It will probably just kill a few thousand people and go away.

There have also been a bunch of other viruses that were near-pandemic that died quickly.(Anyone remember SARS?)

Well, I actually don't think its that deadly. Not a single person from the U.S. has yet died, all because they get quick medical attention and have stronger immune systems. In addition to that, there haven't even been a whole lot of cases of it here, only 222 at last count.

Also, its H1N1, not N1H1. And, its not avian flu entirely, but a mix of the two. Its being spread to humans from pigs, which is the key there.

It's fairly impossible for a quick-acting virus like these to spread far, too. They kill their host long before they're able to leave the country (After it activates itself, of course)

Interestingly, the U.S. has had its second death, this one also in Texas. From what I heard, they were a 33-year-old woman, though that was off of memory. Could be way off.

Am I the only one who finds it incredibly hard to believe that there will be 2,000,000,000 (thats one in three people in the world) will be infected by this thing, as according to the World Health Organization (WHO)? I mean, there are thousands of deaths each year from the generic Flu in the U.S., we've only had two from Swine flu so far, one who was visiting from Mexico, the other who had a damaged immune system.
