This is the current list of rules as of May 31st. This date will change with any updates, and those updates will generally be listed.

Spam
Messages that do not contribute to the conversation, flame other users, are incredibly short, including excess slang, have very poor grammar, or use inappropriate formatting are not allowed. It will result in an infraction.

Profanity
Profanity is allowed mildly, however it should not be used excessively and never can be used to insult other users. Doing so will result in an infraction. It may, however, be used for rhetoric or in role plays/fan fiction. PG-13 flagged threads do allow for unlimited profanity, however it still must not be directed at other users.

Double Posting
Double posting generally does not result in infractions, however it is looked down upon. Instead, simply edit the old post. If you do accidentally double post, it is advised that you merge one post into the other, then delete the one not merged.

Thread Revival
Reviving threads, also known as bumping, is classified as posting a thread that already exists in the first twenty threads in a forum (usually the first page) or that has not been posted in for 60 days is generally not allowed. In both cases you will generally be infracted, though new users may simply be warned.

It should be noted that owners of threads in the creativity corner may ignore these rules, while in fan fictions people participating may also post even if the threads have not been posted in for more than 60 days.

Malware
Intentionally posting links to sites that contain malware or attaching files with malware is strictly prohibited and will result in an automatic ban.

Warez
Posting ROMs, illegal content, or other forms of Warez will result in an automatic ban. Posting links to this content may result in an infraction depending on the severity of the material.

Pornography
Porn is strictly prohibited unless certain conditions are in place. Porn may only be posted if...

It is not a real photograph. It must be a computer animation, sketch, cartoon, etc.
The content is in a triple spoiler.
If both of the above conditions, you must also start the thread with the "Rated R" prefix. Forums which do not allow this can not have any form of Pornography, whether it is in a spoiler and cartoony or not.

Violence
Violent or drug-related images can be posted in any forums if it is in a spoiler. It also can be posted without a spoiler if the thread has a "PG-13" tag in the title (again, only certain forums will allow this).

Advertising
You may not post links to products to other sites or products. New users will encounter an automatic ban if they have not posted any other contributing content, while existing users will generally only be infracted.

Change Log

I have some possible changes for rules:

1) Advertising
a)New users get infracted, old users get banned. This is because new users may not have noticed that there are rules here(Common mistake), but the old users know better.
b)If user feels need to advertise, they must put it in spoiler tags.

2)Malware
a)If user did not know site had malware, then they will only get an infraction of 5 or so points.

Now for a question:
For porn, define "Cartoony"

For the porn question, Anything that is photographed of a real person, so I would argue that computer animated is fine. The basic idea behind this is coppa, since people may receive pics of others through text/email, etc. This is, of course, getting more and more common.

As for the rule mods, the advertising clause is mainly intended to product advertising, something created by a bot, while the malware is excusable if it wasn't known, the idea is if it were intentional.

How about adding these?

No reviving old threads. Ask a Moderator first before posting in an old thread:

You can only reply to threads that have had a recent reply in the past 30 days (1 month). So for example, if a thread was created on January 1, 2006, and the last reply on the thread was made on January 25, 2006... then if a person replies again on February 20, 2006, that is NOT considered reviving an old thread, because you still have 30 days to respond to the last post of a thread.

OR, in less active forums, the first two pages of the board can be replied to. This is to avoid duplicate topics when the topic the person wants to talk about is already on the first two pages. In this situation, the 30 day rule does not apply if the thread can be found in the first two pages of the board. If the thread is beyond the first two pages, you apply the 30 day rule above.

Exceptions to reviving old threads are the Fan Fiction and Art boards (since authors and artists works are continual, and might take a long time off before adding additional content to their work, and the authors and artists can revive their own thread to add additional content). So these boards do not have a old thread revival rule, but can only be revived by the person that created it for the reasons stated. Any thread creator may also revive their own thread, within good reason.

The 4 word Rule:
Posts need to have at least 4 words. If they are less, the post may be deleted and a Warning/Infraction given. Adding 'filler' words is spam.

I've added the first one, while the latter is basically classified as spam. Thanks for those.

Likewise, I classified the ones Jared mentioned.

Why didn't anyone tell me we could post hentai sooner?

Yeah... Just remember, it must be in a forum that has "Rated R" as a start tag, you can't just add it to the title manually. Similarly, it must be contained in a triple spoiler ().

Video Games, Everything Else, and the Creativity Corner come to mind.
