Nintendo gets sued for the wii
Today, Hillcrest Laboratories sued Nintendo claiming company is using their motion-control inventions in the Wii. Hillcrest is wanting to block imports of the Wii and Wii Remotes, according to a complaint filed today with the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington. Hillcrest also filed a civil suit in federal court in Greenbelt, Maryland.

A decision on the ITC Case will go first and a decision will take 15 months to investiagte.
So lets see...Anascape sues Nintendo for the analog sticks of the Classic Controller, GameCube Controller and Wavebird. John R. Martin sues Nintendo for the touchscreen of the DS. Now, Hillcrest Laboratories sues Nintendo for the Wii. The only Nintendo products that aren't sued yet are the Nunchuk, Wii Zapper, Wii Wheel and Wii Balance Board, as well as the video games for the Wii and DS. Great.

Looks like that explains the lack of many VG form nintendo. This is pretty sad, though. Nintendo could have sued Sony for all the things it copied form nintendo.... but they didn't. It sucks that there are people who will try to kill somthing that is meant for child entertainment. all the other game system companies have more M rated games than anything..... and to think that if Nintendo falls, so will all of this. No more Mario.... No more Zelda..... No more Pokemon. And Pokemon already has a bad rep by many who claim that there is a concealed sublimital message in the pokemon theme song.... I don't want to believe it, but At the same time I'm weary. So in conclusion, it looks like Nintendo is going through some rough storms.... but hopefully they will overcome it all. I'm Nytz, Lunar Child, reporting live In other news. Back to you, Pokezam.

Indeed. To try and draw in users, I suggested he post other news stories and give his opinion on them.

Was that meant to be funny?
I doubt Nintendo would get sued for the Wii, there has already been complaints about it, but nobody really cares about 'people getting hurt', and 'people breaking the Wii'.
Trust me, I've seen many a complaint online, which goes into detail about many of those issues.

Apparently it's a copyright violation, though we shall see as time moves on what happens.

I fail to see what they could have copied, it seemed like a legit idea to me.

Nintendo: Core Games in Development, But Not Ready for Early 2009
In an interview featured in the new October issue of EDGE Magazine, the Big N has made some comments about their hardcore gamers, as well as mentioned that they have developers working on "popular core gaming franchises".

Alright, many of the popular core gaming franchises of Nintendo are making their way to the Wii and DS. Sounds like good news, but, Nintendo then added the following:

So, many hardcore franchises are in development, but don't expect any of them to arrive until at least mid-2009 or late-2009. That means there is no 2008 Kirby Wii release as revealed at the beginning of the year, no new Zelda Wii or Mario Wii until late-2009, among other franchises.
Although it was already revealed that 2008 will only have the release of four more 1st-party games from Nintendo (Mario Super Sluggers, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Wario Land: Shake It!, Wii Music), the new interview revealed that we won't be getting anything like Kirby, Zelda and Mario until late-2009.

I hope this helps boost Nintendo's morale. After all the criticism it recieved, It would be nice to know that Nintendo is still going to do it's best in making it's games, and making it's gamers happy in doing so. This could be the beginning of some new anticipation for Nintendo games. I sure hope they do well.

That's just disappointing.
I expected the games to be released this year, too bad I have to wait until 2009.

New Club Nintendo Interview - No Hard Drive for Wii, Nintendo has "Better" Solution
Sep 06, 2008 by Kirby173
In a translation of a recent Club Nintendo interview with Reggie and Shigeru Miyamoto, a few new bits of information were revealed. Most of it is actually a bit old, but there are some new things, including more information on what Nintendo has planned for more storage space for the Wii. I'll post the translations that were from the original article below.
Miyamoto:
- Confirms New Zelda Wii and Pikmin 3 once again.
- Was asked if MotionPlus will be implemented with Zelda Wii, but made no comment.
- Talks about Wii Wheel, Balance Board and all of the other peripherals, and mentions that there won't be a lot more arriving.
- Says to expect an announcement in the future regarding a solution to the limited storage space on the Wii.
Reggie:
- Says that hardcore gamers got Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Wii, and are getting Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS. (The question probably mentioned the lack of hardcore games for both platforms)
- No Hard Drive coming to Wii. He says Nintendo is working on "better solutions".
- When asked of Microsoft's Avatars, he replies: "Copying is a way of flattering, so we’re very flattered."
- Was asked about a New DS, and states that "A redesign will happen when sales begin to drop, not rise".
Basically, we have more confirmation on Pikmin 3 and Zelda Wii (not like we needed any more), and there aren't many more peripherals coming to the Wii. Reggie still believes that hardcore gamers should be satisifed with what was announced at E3, with City Folk for the Wii and GTA:CW for the DS. That is all old. The only thing that is new is: Nintendo is working on a solution to the limited storage space on the Wii, but it will not be a Hard Drive, so the holographic hard drive is out of question.
Really, not much news was revealed here, but now we know we are not going to get a hard drive for the Wii as the solution to our storage problems.

Nintendo Offering an Animal Crossing: City Folk/WiiSpeak Bundle
Sep 08, 2008 by Kirby173
It was previously mentioned that Nintendo will be offering WiiSpeak separately from Animal Crossing: City Folk, which is compatible with the voice chat accessory. Now, from the GameStop manager conference, comes news of an Animal Crossing: City Folk/WiiSpeak bundle, available for a set price of $69.99.
Animal Crossing: City Folk will be sold separately as well, so people not interested in WiiSpeak will not have to purchase the bundle, and vice versa. WiiSpeak is said to be available at a price of $29.99, while City Folk is probably going to be sold at $49.99. Getting the bundle will save you about $10, so get it if you're interested in getting both items.

Well, this is some good news for the Animal Crossing fans. I never played Animal Crossing, so I don't know what to tell you, except see for yourself. My eyes lit, however, at the mention of the WiiSpeak part of the bundle. Maybe I should convince my little sister to buy Animal Crossing/WiiSpeak, so she can have fun with the game, while I have fun with the WiiSpeak. So yeah, that's all for now In Other News!
HVS Reveals Conduit Score Composer
In the early hours of the morning, High Voltage Software announced that the musical score of the upcoming Wii exclusive FPS, The Conduit, will be composed by the famed Diego Stocco.
His CV seems to be very impressive, with Stocco having composed music for movies such as Transformers, Resident Evil: Extinction, Crank, Jumper, Lady in the Water, and video game soundtracks for Justice League Heroes and SoulCalibur IV.
Both Michael Metz, Audio Visual Director of The Conduit, and Stocco himself gave comment on the news.

With promising words from both sides, it seems that the game will blow us all away in another field - and a personal favourite of mine, at that.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmm.... never heard of this game. Based on the evidence, it seems that Conduit is a game worth trying out. From my personal opinion and experience, a soundtrack for a Video game is just as important as playing the game itself--but I'll leave you guys to decide. That's it for now In Other News!
Confirmed: Nintendo Will NOT Be Attending E for All This Year
Sep 11, 2008 by Kirby173
Nintendo has confirmed that they will not be attending the E for All gaming convention this year. Last year, they had a huge showcase presence at the event, with demo's of Super Smash Bros. Brawl available for gamers to play. Guess Nintendo doesn't want to showcase any new games this year. A Wii Sports Resort demo would have been nice, but I guess Nintendo chose not to attend to event at all.

Looks like this year's E for All is going to be a whole lot quieter.

Nintendo is going through some rough times this year. I really feel bad for them-- they are one of the few companies that focuses on all age groups (Capcom would be in second place for that.), unlike many game companies nowadays that focus on adults and neglect the Children, the group who were ORIGINALLY SUPPOSED TO BE ENJOYING THE VIDEO GAMES!!! But yeah, sadly, If things keep up, we'll be seeing our first M-Rated Super Mario Bros. game...

An M-rated SMB game would be both amusing and depressing at the same time.
Nintendo News: Strong Bad's Episode II will be Arriving on WiiWare this Monday!
GoNintendo has received an E-Mail from Telltale stating that Episode 2 of the Strong Bad series for WiiWare will be arriving this Monday.
"We’ve just confirmed that Strong Bad Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free will launch on WiiWare (North America) and PC (worldwide) this Monday, September 15."
Seems that Episode II will be arriving earlier than most people expected. Let's see if the other episodes will be arriving this quickly.

News Update: Nintendo Not Going to E for All, But Their Products Will Be Playable
Sep 13, 2008 by Kirby173
Remember that News Update from yesterday? The one with Nintendo NOT Attending E for All this year. Well...apparently Nintendo will not be there, however, their products will be playable and on sale. Why? Well, the Target store at E for All is going to provide anything you can basically find from Nintendo in this generation this year at E for All, from Madden 09 to a Nintendo Wii console.
Quote:

We are very excited about this opportunity for attendees — whether it’s Madden ’09 or the Nintendo Wii, the Target Store at E for All will be stocked.
So, no demo of at least three of the ten games from Wii Sports Resort and the MotionPlus accessory, but Nintendo products will be showcased and can be purchased at E for All this year. Nothing big, but it does seem quite...stupid of Nintendo not being there this year, but their games, peripherals and other stuff will all be available.

So, there's still gonna be some Nintendo games at least... but hey, that's all I really care for. As for this New Bad Episode II, I never even played Episode I, but It's for Wii Ware, so all that's needed to purchase it is some wii points-- How convenient! Well, that's all for now.
