Well, make a draft post in this forum. The mods can review and modify it in a reply and when we're satisfied we can post the rule.
All right, here goes nothing.
As an aside to the chat-speak rule, the staff here at PokeZam would also request that you use decent grammar as well. We are not English teachers though expect that you make your posts understandable especially if you request help with something.
The following is not acceptable: My favorite pokemon are latios and latias and hidoran and I also like giratina and palkia and dialga and kecleon.
The following is acceptable: Some of my favorite Pokemon are Latios, Latias, and Hidoran. I am also a fan of Giratina, Palkia, Dialga, and Kecleon. Also, Some of my favorite Pokemon are Latios, Latias, and Hidoran though I am also a fan of Giratina, Palkia, Dialga, and Kecleon.

It is requested of you that you keep your post generally understandable. This means using proper punctuation, good spelling and grammar, and simply having your posts be readable. Also limit the use of rich text formatting and smilies.

What If I don't?
Not using proper English will result in an infraction lasting one week with one point. If you continue this infraction will start lasting longer and will be worth more points.
How's that?

Sounds good to me. Should we put how many posts to ignore before they start to count?

I would say two or three.
Can we warn verbally, no infraction?

That would be better. Infractions might discourage future users from joining and besides... people can mature. It's only the pikagirls and lilathecuties that are hopeless issues.
I suppose... I mean after two or three verbal warnings, if they don't smarten up, we can infract them for stupid and ignorance.

Well, you can Verbally Warn, Warn, and Infract. Its up to you how you do it, just so you do it.

That also works. Most users tend to wise up after a little bit; many of us were n00bs at some point, although I don't recall ever having atrocious grammar. I do however look back at old forums and such and do question some posts I made though.

I triple and quadruple posted multiple times when I first came here, so yeah, we were all n00bs at one times.
Even so, I'd feel better if we push somewhat good grammar. Believe it or not, after my summer vacation in the seventh, or eighth grade, we were asked to do a mini-report on what we did over the summer... and the teacher couldn't even grade them, since they were so horrible with chatspeak and stuff.

Wow! I don't ever remember anyone in my school ever using chatspeak. I do however recall a few students using ebonics though, ha ha.
Yes. The sad thing about this is they were writing it. Chatspeak is seriously evil... or my classmates were complete idiots.

In my case most of the kids are complete idiots. A handful of kids really standout though.
I was leaning to the "complete idiot" option. Most of the seniors of my class dropped out.

Chat speakers-they're at my school too. I don't know, but when some people get on the internet they tend to keep the way they wrote. >_>
Anywho! I remember doing a thread like this for PokeZam a while back ago. I think it was called the Punctuation/Grammar Rule thread. But I can't find it. XP
The following is not acceptable: My favorite pokemon are latios and latias and hidoran and I also like giratina and palkia and dialga and kecleon.
In my opinion, that's a little harsh. At least this user remembered to use capitals and periods. XD
Off topic, sorry...
Hidoran is Heatran, right?
Um. IF THIS RULE IS IN EFFECT, SOMEONE NEEDS TO POST THE OFFICIAL VERSION OF IT. I will not give this infraction until the rule is made public.

Hey, can't you let me have some say in things. I was going to post it last night, and had it mostly done, but forget to save it. I really don't want a simple example, I want tan explanation of everything like the others. You posted it in the wrong place, too. In any case how's this?:
Intelligence Rule
At Pokezam it is expected of you that you use proper 5th Grade English, as listed below.
Grammar
1. Generally use proper grammar - I went to the lake vs. Me went to the lake (the first is correct)
2. Capitalize and Punctuate Sentences Properly
3. Use the right word - don't confuse hi and high, right and write, lay and lie, there and their, etc.
4. All the rest that comes with 5th grade nglish
Spelling
Naturally we don't expect you to have perfect spelling. We just expect you to know how to spell simpler words, such as lie vs. li, my vs. mie, etc.
Chatspeak
Simply don't use chatspeak. For full details of this, go to http://www.pokezam.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2417

Indeed.
Also forgive me for my ignorance, though the wait for Platinum is killing me. D:
