I am just curious because I have browsed the forums here and seen a lot of threads in the Off-Topic areas that were locked even though the discussion seemed to be fine,and there was no explanation. So I was wondering what the policy is here for locking threads.

I checked the rules and the announcements and didn't see anything on this.

They were probably dead threads. If the last post was more than two months ago, then they get locked and forgotten.
