Mystik felt comprehension spray her like water from a water hose: soft yet bitingly cold. She should have considered the faults under her wonderful idea, the obvious reasons why Trinity could not have Alex again. Of course he was old, he had lived for decades. Who was to say he didn’t have family to attend to now? Trinity and Alex were absolute lovers, perfect for each other like the corresponding colors of blue and green. However…what if he managed to move on and find a new color wife? A new family? Why hadn’t her complex and envisioning mind thought of that?

“He will always have a place in his heart for you Trinity,” the girl said with a true smile. Even if the characteristics of her lover’s life were uncertain, Mystik knew this was something sure. If their love made as big an impact as Mystik thought, it was simply ludicrous to think he would ever forget her. He would be able to move on in life, but there was no way her lover would ever forget her. Mystik knew Trinity would always be the canary sitting in a birdhouse in his soul, beautiful and vulnerable. “There will be no one to take your place, no matter any new wife or child,” the teenager heard herself say without realizing it.

“I can totally understand that,” Mystik voiced in a laugh. She knew she had heaps of homework ahead of her, book projects and more. Although her heightened knowledge and forgiving memory (luckily, she was repeating the grade she already went through to start out in Forks) were going to give her a big boost, she would still have the burden of homework every day. If could be done in less than a few minutes, of course, but still…was it worth doing it all just to fit in?

“Of course,” Mystik debated with herself. This was the only way she could be normal, the only way her sister and herself could stay in Forks for a few years without arousing suspicion. It was worth it, through the pain of spending six hours in school. Besides…what would she do if she didn’t go to school? She had twenty four hours stacked on top of each other in an immortal pile of time, nowhere giving fault to death or sleep. And when this first year was over, she would actually begin learning again, things she had never seen before or heard. She would look forward to that, even if the learning conditions weren’t in the most exciting places in the world.

“Five scents…” Mystik repeated, closing her eyes, opening the doors to her imagination. A bundle of five plus more scents-that was insane. Usually vampires traveled in covens of three or two, but five? More than that would be absolutely ridiculous! But…they were good, right? “I could help if you want somebody to go with you,” the teen provided with a smile. She avoided sounding like the job would be treacherous and Trinity needed backup. Mystik firmly believed that these were good vampires, and she would not conclude them awful without meeting them.
