Okay, here is where people can discuss various news or elements regarding Platinum. Have anything to say? Say it!

Uh.... yeah, personally, I think that the new Giratina form looks kinda ridiculous. I think it would have been better to keep it consistent as a stationary legendary like Dialga and Palkia were, you know, rather than floating.

But that's just one minor thing. Overall, I'm looking forward to getting this game, assuming it is released in the US within the next year. I'm excited to see the new features, whatever they'll be. One thing I've always wanted to do was to re-battle the criminal team just for fun, but they're always gone forever once you've finished the last thing you need to do with them.

Oh, and bring, the freaking item PC back! I'm sick of having a bag with so many mediocre items which I can't throw out because I may need them sometime, and giving them to random pokemon in my PC! Gaaaaah!

Anyway, I can't wait for Platinum, and not just because I lost my Diamond. ;D I look forward to the Shaymin Sky Forme, although the fake one looks better in my opinion. The real one doesn't even resemble Shaymin at all. D:<

The game in itself is sure to be an improvement, like Crystal to Silver and Gold and Emerald to Ruby and Sapphire. How much better was Crystal than Silver? Exponentially, that's how much. And Emerald was much better that Ruby. So I'm really looking forward to Platinum for those reasons as well.

Something I'm personally wondering.....

In Yellow, you're able to get all the starters.
In Crystal, you're able to get both of the Legendary birds.
In Emerald, you're able to get both of the colossal Pokémon.

So, in Platinum, will you be able to get Dialga and Palkia??? It's a question that's bothering me big time... Makes ya wonder.

I'm thinking that Platinum will more more similar to Emerald for a few reasons, though mainly the screenshot where all three legendary beasts appear. If this hold true, you will be able to capture all three pokemon. If I were to take it farther, you would also be able to catch gratina before the elite four, but would have to catch the other legendaries with, just taking a guess, something like an item that you would place back at the sky pilliar.

So, will see how close I am.

Anyway, one thing I really want to see is an improved trading system where you can offer something like this:

Level 40 Pikachu + Level 5 Chikoirta + $200,000 + Max Revive = Level 70+ Dialga

So you can offer Money, Items, and Pokemon in Exchange for Pokemon. I mean, you would be much more likely to get what you want but for none to much of a cost.

I second this greatly. I mean, yeah they have like eight pocket, but some items you pick up, you just don't need, like those Plates, and stat items like Magnet or Nevermeltice.

Oh, never sell the plates at pokemarts, you can get much more by selling them to the underground hikers. You can get level 50 (stones, gems, I forget what they're called), which can be traded for some great secret base items.

You can get level 50 spheres in exchange for plates? Why did nobody tell me this before? It's not like I'm ever going to want and/or need Arceus, and if I did, the event for it would be off in Nepal or something obscure like that as usual [>:O]; those plates are worthless to me. >.<

Level 50 is the high end, the low end is 40. But, since all the plates are obtainable above ground, anyones you find underground are great for hiker trade.

99, but you almost never need them that high. I had like 30 level 99s a while ago.

I believe it is still a rumor. Being that there are two new sky forms and that Regigigas is a topic of discussion a rumor could clearly come about. It is still possible. Should be interesting.

I talked quite a bit about that in the Zamcast. Here are my ideas from the Zamcast and a few mores.

-Minigames resembling other classic games.
--Pokeo - Jump on the bad galactic members to save the Prince Dialga. 32 levels, 8 worlds, of Pokeo goodness. (okay, maybe Mario isn't the best way to go)
--Pokemonz - Raise your Pokemon just to be entered in contest. Buy them toys, redecorate their little room in your secret base, give them baths, do whatever. When you do enter them in a contest get secret base items and money.
--Pokeopoly - Play a classic Monopoly game Pokemon-style.

-The new battle frontier
--Battle against trainers you remember from other games, Crystal (or Marina), Blue (or Gary), Red (or Ash), Gold (I don't think he was in the anime), Sapphire (or May), Ruby (or Brendan), and others
--Have the battles against these trainers be super hard, some might be able to use items, some might have super high-leveled Pokemon with you being limited to level 50 Pokemon, in some you may not be able to use final evolution Pokemon.
--If you win against these trainers the first time you get really rare items like Max Revives and PP Maxes
--If you win against them a second time you get super awesome secret base items like a PC where you can actually can connect to wi-fi and browse the internet or maybe use a high-end text editor (like Microsoft Word). Also you might get a Fossil-Regeneration Machine (that works), a Healing Machine (that works), and, for the grand finale, you can add theme park rides, like Roller Coasters, Ferris Wheels, and Bumper Cars and charge people to ride them when you connect to Wi-Fi
--If you beat them a third time you get super awesome new abilities. These could include the ability to do two things in one turn (so attack twice, use two items, switch Pokemon twice (though you shouldn't need to do this), or a combination of the three), remove a type weakness from all your Pokemon (so if you have a bunch of Pokemon that are weakened to water then remove that weakness), or maybe even double the power of all the pokeballs you own and will own.


-3D to the Max (I actually think this would be more appropriate for the GS remake)
--Mode 1: 3D Overworld and Battle Scenes, However you view everything from the overworld, unlike mode three where you are viewing everything from a more of a third person few

--Mode 2: D/P Overworld and Battle Scenes
--Mode 3: 3D Overworld and Battles (you never leave the overworld screen when you battle), the ability to see all angles of what your doing (so a small amount of a verticle toggle and a 360 horizontal toggle).

Mini-games
Nine Pokémon themed minigames can be played in Pokémon Stadium, either as stand-alone games or as part of a tournament. One to four human players may participate, with the rest controlled by the computer. Many of the games utilize button mashing.

Magikarp's Splash: Four Magikarp have flopped onto land and compete against each other to flop the highest and hit the counter on top of the screen. The Magikarp with the highest count at the end of the game wins. Although not displayed on screen, there is a time limit of 20 seconds.

Clefairy Says: This is a combination of Simon Says and a memory game. Four Clefairy are in class and the teacher shows directions on the board. The player must remember the arrow pattern carefully, then repeat it in a limited time. The Clefairy will then dance the moves; if they make an error, the teacher will bop them with a mallet. The last Clefairy to stay in the game without getting bopped five times is the winner; alternatively, the Clefairy with the least bops at the end of the game is the winner.

Run, Rattata, Run: Four Rattata race on parallel treadmills, and must jump over fences along the track. Whichever Rattata gets first place wins.

Snore War: This game requires timing skills. As one of four Drowzee, the players must use Drowzee's Hypnosis attack when the pendulum in the middle of the screen hits the center, or it will start to fall asleep. As the game goes on, the pendulum swings faster. The Drowzee that remains awake the longest wins; alternatively, if two or more players are the same sleepiness at the conclusion of the song, all four players are tied for that game.

Thundering Dynamo: Players are randomly either a Pikachu or a Voltorb, charging up a machine with electrical energy. Players must press either the 'A' or 'B' button on the controller corresponding to the colored light on the machine (either green or blue). The first Pokémon to fill up the bar underneath it wins the game.

Sushi-Go-Round: As Lickitung, players move around and lick up the different kinds of sushi available, which are worth different amounts of money. Eating the same type of sushi multiple times in a row gives a bonus resulting in a larger bill. At the end of 60 seconds, the Lickitung with the most expensive bill wins.

Ekans' Hoop Hurl: The game combines a ring toss with Whac-A-Mole. It is the only mini-game in which it matters which of the four positions the player is in. Players are one of four Ekans lined up along the bottom of the screen. Diglett will pop up randomly out of the nine holes on the field. Players aim and shoot their Ekans (which curls into a hoop) over a Diglett for a point. Sometimes a colored or golden Diglett worth more points will pop up. Whoever scores the most points in 60 seconds wins.

Rock Harden: Rocks are thrown at Metapod and Kakuna. Using the ability Harden reduces HP, but not so much as getting hit by a boulder. The last Pokémon standing wins.

Dig! Dig! Dig!: A group of Sandshrew are digging to find water. Whichever digs to the bottom first wins. To dig, the player must alternatively tap the R and L shoulder buttons in quick succession.

I owned at Egg Emergency. They could have a few, many for certain Pokemon. I know with the DS's capabilities, they can do it. Just look at the title sequence of D and P!

On another forum, someone was suggesting there was "Pokémon Light" and "Pokémon Darkness", where you get Arceus and Darkrai as the main legendaries. For a joke, I decided to make the box for Darkness. Apart from not being able to get the "Darkness" text to curve, it looks real.

I heard about a new area called the torn world. There also has been news about Shaymin able to shanging his form with a speical item a girl at Floroma town gives to you. You can't catch Shaymin either. You have to either hack your game or go to an event. I think nobody else has said that except me.

Heh it's well known actually. I have one of the first few copies of Diamond and Pearl so I exploited the Shaymin glitch and caught it. My friend from Japan is getting me the 11th movie one as well.

I reported that it was Glacidia's Flower which is a key item that allows Shaymin to change forms.

Wi-Fi

The Global Trade Station building is gone, replaced with the "Global Terminal" building (since you won't only be trading now)
There is a new "Wi-Fi Club" where you can play new mini-games with up to 20 friends
One of the games involves a Swalot and berries, presumably to make Poffin
As revealed previously, you can play in the Underground with your friends over Wi-Fi
The basements of each Pokemon Center are completely revamped
Game Mechanics

A new feature is the "Battle Recorder," which records your battles and broadcasts them around the world
There is a new "Battle Frontier" with many different areas, and it is located where the Fight Area in D/P was
Pokemon will have new battle sprites, as we mentioned in a previous news story
The back sprites of Pokemon will be animated

Giratina Origin Forme's ability is Levitate
Giratina is only in its Origin Forme in the Reverse/Torn World, but there is a way of inducing its Origin Forme outside that is not known yet

The backsprites are slightly animated. They shift a little. Maybe in the future they can do more, like scratch (remembers the classic Gengar slashing at Nidorino) or bite.

I'm thinking they'll make it similar to Emerald. Giratina will be available first and then Dialga and Palkia after the Elite Four. That said, you can still trade Dialga and Palkia from your Diamond/Pearl carts.

It's my personal favorite out of Dialga and Palkia because of its high HP, offensive, and defensive stats! I mean, what PKMN at Lv 66 can beat a Giratina? (except probably Darkrai)

Oh, yeah. Totally. Have you seen the video? The back-sprites are more animated now... Unfortunately, with the more 3D-ish look, the original sprite will die off, making spriting a lot harder.

I also like how the trainers move its cool. Too bad that your trainers back sprite dont move tho(besides your self throwing the pokeball), not sure if the trainer like yourself on the front side will move or not when someone battles you.
