View Full Version : Coloring Sheets?

Mostly to promote my on-going project, I was wondering if doing some coloring sheets for PokeZam would be good? I know some people might want to print something out for themselves or their kids or something, so why not have some right here. I planned to have some out mid-May to start the series off for the summer, but I can wait until the end of May for the unofficial start of summer.

I have planned to do a series of month, for summer, and then have one out once every two months. Each series will contain five sheets. The easiest way I can think of doing this, is making a PokeZam (or something) account on PhotoBucket and just direct linking them, unless someone can hook up some thumbnails of them... I dunno.

Thoughts? Questions? Suggestion? .... (post suggestions here (http://www.pokezam.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2695))

I really like the idea. Plus, no matter what year it is, the idea of a mother or father putting their child's art on the refrigerator will never grow old.

Haha. And seeing a purple Pikachu with orange cheeks is kind of cute. ^_^

I just hope I can keep up. I'm a little swamped right now, mainly because I can draw for so long before my arm craps out.

I can host them for you if you'd prefer - I got 1.5Tb of webspace, so I'm in no danger of lack of space! I could also make a admin panel for it so you can easily upload them, or even go to the whole hog and do a whole website for it.

Would you? That'll be great, but before I do anything drastic, I want SR to see this. I know he's busy, but two cents from him is always good.

OK, well I can at least get started - gives me something to do! lol
Good luck getting SR to see this jk
I'll need to know the sort of layout you'd like, and colours and things

Hmmm... Layout. Dunno. Surprise me. ^^

Now, people. I need suggestions. Please. Surfing Pikachu... Zangoose/Seviper battle... Jumpluff and Hoppip floating in the breeze. Anything!

A herd of Plusle and Minun playing with electricity in a field? Zangoose/Seviper battle sounds good.

Anyway, the site (such as it is at present) can be found here (http://akaisart.adamhaskell.net/).

The site still doesn't work for me. =(

Is it just me?

No. BTW, You can just open a freewebs account and add it there.

Akai

BTW, I can do this on my own, or not at all. Thanks for the inspiration, Deo.

It's very strange, but I'm contacting Bluehost to find the root of the problem. Will post result.

EDIT:
Right, well they don't know what's wrong. They say to wait about four hours and then try again. Use this (http://www.adamhaskell.net/akaisart) for now, but note that not everything will be exactly as it should be (in particular the Back to index link will point to the main index and not the section index).

EDIT:
Typical. It's working now.

BTW, You can just open a freewebs account and add it there.
Maybe, but only by doing it yourself can you have the exact layout you want with tidy and efficient HTML and PHP, and no adverts whatsoever.

I don't know if I want to do this anymore. Deo's spammy "help" kind of shot me. I'm currently working on a Beastiary for PokeMaster's Warriors Clan forum, and coloring the pictures took nearly an hour each! I'm really tired, and now bored with this project, mainly because of helpless comments like Deo's.

Hey, the best thing is to ignore it. I get comments all the time from family and (not quite) friends. I just let it roll off. Besides, I've started setting it up.

No. I like your idea. You actually give good advice, mainly because you help. Deo's is kinda of "Say something but never does it".

Well, it's going well so far!

I did a drawing of a Cubone [inspired by the Pokemon Battle ~ Freedom Version RP]. The Zangoose in the background is really ugly, though. I'll switch to my computer and then scan it in.

EDIT:

Here:

I could edit the outlines, etc. and then re-upload it so it would be more coloring sheet-esque.

Awww.... =) That's my little Cubone, but ugh, Crayo-FUN? Haha! xDDD

LOL! It was all I could think of. I didn't want to put Crayola, because that's the default. :P So... Crayo FUN was born! :3

^_^ Thanks for the pic.

06-09-2008, 06:11 PM
Sure thing! Do you want me to outline it in Sharpie or something? I could do that so it would be more 'cartoony'. Or can you do it? I don't mind.

Akai
06-09-2008, 06:48 PM
You could just focus on the Cubone, maybe make a new one.

3speon

So should I erase the Rotom and Zangoose in the background, re-outline, and scan it again?

Akai
06-09-2008, 07:31 PM
If you want. Up to you. ^_^

3speon
06-09-2008, 07:58 PM
Okay. My turn on the computer is up now, so I can outline it and then scan and upload it tomorrow. :]

EDIT: Okay, yesterday I didn't get a chance to get on the computer, but I have it now: http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s238/PigturePurrfect/CuboneColoringSheet-1.png

That's cool, but it's not quite coloring-sheet quality: too many lines, lines too thick... that sort of thing. If you can tidy it up then it'll be a great pic.

On the other hand, Akai seems to have abandoned this project, since she put up a very good Dialga and Palkia, but then hasn't done anything since... and we still need a good introduction text...

I know. I had to use a thin Magic Marker because we don't have a thin Sharpie. x.X It started out as a drawing anyway. I wasn't sure how to simplify it.

Akai

You can take the rug, or whatever he's laying on out.

@ Kaboom: It's not abandoned. I'm in a dry spell. I'm getting minor illnesses all the time now, and I just don't feel inspired. Plus, I ask for suggestions for something to draw and get nothing.

Kaboom
06-16-2008, 08:06 AM
Oh, OK, I see.
You asked for suggestions? Whoopsie... Well, you could maybe do a picture of... the Luxio clan attacking Pikachu and Turtwig... You know, PMD2 scenes...

Akai

I'll bring my giant PokeDex book with me camping. I could get some pictures done. =P

A Chatot singing
An angry Jigglypuff
A Pikachu curiously poking a Ditto that turned into a copy of it, except only it kept its Ditto face
A family of Altaria singing on a cliff
A Hoppip floating over a lake, looking distressed

Hope that helps out!

Ha! I love this one.
