You may have noticed quite a few members have become moderators recently. The reason this has occurred is mainly because I feel that it doesn't hurt to have a good amount of people working around the site to keep it clean. I have received criticism, but honestly, is it bad to have tons of people who can delete spam and keep the forum clean?
Now, people have also been wondering how you become a mod. A rough chart for it is this:
You get to be a mod when:
a/b=10
a=Points as seen below
b=Number of Months you've been here
A points
Contribution to the site: -5-5
Follows the Rules: -5-5
Intelligent Posts: -10-5
Secondly, Never ask for being a Moderator, It will only decrease your points.
The High Staff (Super Mods, Secondary Admins, Main Admins) will decide whether who should become a Moderator.

Wow this is very interesting. I commend you quite a bit on this, as I have never seen a formula worked out. For a lot of forums, picking mods is usually just guess work.
I think for the stupid person, the idea of SR's formula is this: The longer you've been here, and the more helpful you are, you may become a Mod.

Heh, made a few mistakes in the formula. This is the actual formula:
a/b+b>=10
b>=2
a=Points as seen below
b=Number of Months you've been here
A points
Contribution to the site: -5-5
Follows the Rules: -5-5
Intelligent Posts: -10-5
In rare cases, contribution can be higher.
Now, here is how you get forums:
*-1 Forum - 8-
*-3 Forums - 6-
1 forum - 10+
2 - 13+
3 - 15+
SMod - 18+, additional 2 weeks of keeping the score
And you get more, or less, after every months score.
Example:
Pisaro's contibution to the site is 8 (he does so much, including donations), 5 for the first month
He follows the rules for a 5, also 5 for the first month
And his posts are entirely intelligent, so a 5 for both months again
He has also been here for two months, so:
(5+5+5+5+5+8)/2+2
33/2+2
16.5+2
18
So, the offer is still open pisaro, as you could easily be a super mod.
One last note, in my final version of the plan, inactivity effects everything greatly. If you are too inactivity in moderating, you could lose your entire position.
I'm really confused. I don't understand ANY of this.

Your post (#3) sums it up.

This means using your mod powers and being active overall right? This includes current mods, also?

Yes, but to a lesser extent for you and SE.
Your post (#3) sums it up.
Oh... you can always put something like "In other words..."
Thanks. I understand a little.
(You're a little too smart for your own good.) :p
Nothing hard to understand. It's sort of like math.
the more you stay active on this site the better off chances you have to be considered for a moderator spot.
And posts show your active. It makes sense as well.
This is my understanding.
Edit: I'm smart and follow rules, etc. I'm not requesting modship. :)
I'd like it, but am not requesting it. We need a guide on to not ask to become a moderator.
