The Battle of Light and Dark

Ok.. This is the first time I've done a real fanfic. Credit to this fanfic goes to me and Akai. We did this as an RP which was completely Akai's idea, but I have reworded parts of it and changed it into a fanfic. If not for Akai, this wouldn't be here!

Prologue

It seemed to be a peaceful afternoon. Though, no one at all in the land of Aporthia knew what would happen that day. It is the story of a father and his son. Let me go back tell you what caused such great events.

Chapter 1: Abandoned



It was a calm day. Villages had their children about, birds sang cheerfully, and animals walked about. It seemed to be such a wonderful day. However, it was all about to change. A village, known as Trinity Forest, was never going to be the same again.

One day in this village, a large group of demons attacked. Many children were killed, eaten, or just left. However, the mother of one boy, was slain right in front of his eyes. He hated the demon that did it, and his anger took over. Fire began to consume the beast. It had appeared from nowhere. The beast died a slow and painful death. Moments later, the boy, unknowing of what he had just done, was banned from that village. At the ripe age of 16, he was left to live alone.

At the exact same time as the demon attack, a demon himself was walking down a dirt road. He was worried about something, as you could tell because he kept looking behind him. As he stopped, a chuckle came behind him.
"Well, at last I found you."
The demon looked at him with a worried stare. He took off and ran.
"Fine. Then, chase it is!"
The man chased the demon. They went through shrubs, branches, and other plants. They ran directly into a forest.

The boy, known as Kai, was just a few miles from the city that he had just been deserted from. He was no longer sure where to go or what to do with his life. He had only just realized, and at the age of 16, that he was endowed with great psychic energy. Now he was alone. No one was there for him except himself. Upon heading to the entrance of a forest, he heard a rustling. He stopped, frightened, then looked around. "Who's there?" He called. But he heard no reply. He continued to walk to the entrance of the forest, continuously hearing that same rustling. He walked into the forest, then at the moment that he entered, a great, monstrous creature appeared in front of him. "A.. a.. DEMON!!" He began to run, faster all the time. Kai continued to run, whether or not his pursuer was after him...

This is pretty good, but maybe a bit more suspence could have been added during the fight, like how gruelling it was, how people were attacking and with what, rather than just giving the outcome. For a first FanFic, it's very good, but it could be made much better.

Chapter 2: Encounter

The demon, known as Lucius, heard Kai's scream. As he looked in that direction, he made an unexpected slam into a nearby tree. Kai heard the sound, and stopped running. He noticed the demon on the ground.
"Mister? Are you alright?"
The demon did not speak, but he did cough. Then suddenly a figure dropped down from the trees. He grabbed Kai's shoulder. "Keep back, kid. This is a blood-thirsty demon. He'll kill you."
Kai took a step back. "So.. He's a demon too?" The other man looked at Kai bewildered. "Too? Are you saying that you are a demon?"
He quickly reassured the man,"No, no.. There was one following me a little bit ago. However, I thought demons only resemebled beasts?"
The man took a knee, "They are all beasts. This one right here is a trickster. He'll lie to your face and won't think too much about it. I heard he took and killed a child of someone in my village. After that, some children started to disappear." He stood up, "I'm Jeff, by the way. If you're alone, it may be a good idea for you to come with me."
"Wow.. So then they can alter their appearance.. I had no idea. It's terrible that any creature would so something so horrible." Kai stepped back further from the demon on the ground. "Well, I'm Kai. I suppose I should come along with you, I have no place left to go anyways."
Jeff smiled, looking to Lucius. He pushed himself up, grabbing his chest. "Ow..."
"Careful, he wakes... Now to slay him." Jeff picked his blade up, flicking it to spread out the blades, making a huge fanned wing.
'Wow!!!' thought Kai,'That's some sword.' Kai focused his mind on his rage at all demons.. "I'm ready to fight!"
"Jeff!" Another figure dropped from the trees, "Do not kill him..." He pulled him aside, whispering to him. They both argued silently, Jeff getting more enraged. Lucius got to his feet, stumbling a little. "Ugh... That really hurt..." He looked to Kai, smiling, "Hello."
"H..H.. Hello.. Ermm... Jeff??? He's awake!!! What do I do?"

This new chapter's cool - a little bit on the short side, maybe, but good. Just one thing: how can two people "argue silently"?

Arguing quietly more or less... Kai couldn't hear them.

Here's Chapter 3. Sorry it took a while, I had to make sure it was right.

Chapter 3: The Fire

Lucius looked at him, fixing his glasses, "No, no... Shh. I'm not going to hurt you." Jeff looked at Lucius, jumped to him, smashing his sword on the back of his head, knocking him out. "Got him." He grinned.

"He told me he wasn't going to hurt me, but then again, you told me not to trust them.. I wasn't sure what to do.. Whether to attack, or wait for you. Thank you for saving me Jeff!" Kai smiled with a big grin on his face. He looked around.. "Who's that man?" He pointed to the man who had stopped Jeff from killing Lucius.

Jeff huffed, "My brother, Pierre... He plays by the rules." Pierre walked up, "We're not allowed to kill him yet."

"Nice to meet you Pierre, but what do you mean, Yet?"

Pierre sighed, "I really don't think I'm allowed to tell you." Jeff pulled Kai aside, "He just means something like... This demon's done a lot of bad things. Why simply kill him? If he did something bad to you, wouldn't you like to repay him and make him regret ever doing it?"

"Oh, I understand. Personally, I believe that he should be tortured to death because of all the harm that he's brought to villages. Are there many other demons as bad as this one? And are there any worse?"

Jeff grinned, "If you want to kill, then there's an entire house infested with these monsters. I'll let you borrow one of my practice blades, if you want." Pierre rolled his eyes, tying up Lucius and stuffing him in a large burlap body bag.

"Hmm.. as tempting as that is, and you may not believe me, but I don't need weapons... I.. I have other means of disposition of my enemies. By the way, do many demons have names? Or are they just nameless their whole life?"

Jeff sat down, "I believe they call themselves names. I don't know or care if they are given a name." Pierre put Lucius on his shoulder, "Jeff... stop filling that boy's head with nonsense."

"Nonsense? What do you mean Pierre?" Kai's confusion started to overwhelm his thoughts. He could not control what he was thinking at this moment.

Jeff stood up, "Shut up and take that demon back." He looked at Kai, "Want a ride? I'm feeling generous tonight.

"Sure, but I'd like an answer first!" Kai stood up, now his anger was taking over. He could feel the air in the forest begin to heat up.

Pierre looked at him, "You want an answer? How cute... How about growing up a little, kid?" He jumped to the shadows, disappearing. Jeff scoffed, "Showoff. 'How about growing up a little'." He laughed loudly. "Just forget him. You can question him at home. Even though he won't allow me to kill him, he still lets me have a little fun."

"Grr.. He made me mad.. that's not good.. I can't.. control it.. " Fire burst forth from his eyes.. Trees were setting ablaze, fire spawned instantaneously. "Help me, I can't control this!!" Kai yelled.

Jeff jumped back, "What are you!?"

"This is what I was trying to tell you, I have different ways of disposing my enemies. Please, Jeff, you have to help me get this under control!!" The fire started to grow even larger and hotter.

"What do I do...?" He leapt out of the way of a falling branch that was weakened down by the fire.

"WATER! GET WATER!" Kai started to scream as the rage in his body grew more fearsome. Blazing rocks started to fall from the sky. "Quick hurry!!"

"There's no water around here!"

"Well, you'll have to run and find some.. If I go anywhere this inferno will spread. I can't get it under control.." Kai suddenly had an idea. "Hit me! Knock me out!"

Jeff gripped his blade, "Are you sure?"

"Do it now or this whole forest will die!!"

[Kaboom]

Ohh, exciting! This is nicely full of suspence!

[Akai]

This is boring... :D Get to the part with Ross. Please!! ^_^

Grrrs. Ok. I guess... Just don't change anything too much. I want the people reading it to gag the way you did. Haha.

Chapter 4: Intrusion

Jeff ran to Kai, slamming his hilt into his head, knocking him out.

Kai fell unconscious, and at the same moment, the fire instantly stopped.

Jeff panted, picking him up. "You are a weird kid, you know that...?" He started running, not stopping until he was inside his house. He moved into a room, occupied with Pierre and Lucius, putting Kai in a nearby bed.

Moments later Kai awoke in Jeff's house. He looked around and saw Jeff, Pierre and the Demon all in the same room. "Hello again. Jeff, thank you, and I am terribly sorry for what I caused."

"No problem." Jeff grunted, pulled the ropes tighter as he tied Lucius to a chair. Lucius struggled a little, muffling something behind a gag. Pierre stood in the corner, his arms crossed.

"Pierre, please, tell me what you know now.. I'm certain you don't want a repeat of what happened a minute ago.. That is if Jeff even told you?"

Pierre looked up, "You're not even suppose to be in here." He looked off. Lucius whimpered a little, trying to get free.

Kai held down his anger with great force. "Pierre, please, I need to know in case this same situation happens to me and neither of you are around. Now please, TELL ME!!"

"...What do you want to know?"

"Everything.. I want to know all that you can tell me about the demons..."

Jeff looked up, "You need to be more specific, Kai."

"I'm trying to be. Tell me everything that you know about the demons.. all of it. I want to know.."

Pierre pushed off the wall, "Everything? Find out yourself." He walked out. Jeff sighed, propping up against Lucius. "Big baby... Kai, would you like to hear everything from a real demon's mouth. I will of course correct it."

"Very well, then." Kai removed the gag around the Demon's mouth by telekinetic powers. "Just don't let him escape, I'll have questions for him after he tells me EVERYTHING," he said, emphasizing that the demon was to give all information possible.

Jeff moved to the side. Lucius looked at Kai, "You want to know everything about me?"

"No.. Everything about ALL demons. Tell me everything you know, considering you are one yourself. But first, let's start with your name."

"...I am Lucius." Jeff nodded, telling Kai the demon was telling the truth.

"Well, good to actually know that you have names. Jeff, I thought you said you didn't know? Anyways, continue on."

"Lucius has always been my name. My parents gave it to me before they died, and all my foster parents kept it as well..."

"Hmm.. I see. So then you are an orphan? How did you parents perish?"

"I don't know... I think my brother said it was a car accident." Jeff coughed a little, clearing his throat.

"Hmm.." Kai started to close his eyes, and drove his mind against that of the defense of Lucius's. At long last he broke through. All of Lucius's memories were flooding in front of him. "You liar. You killed them."

"What?! I never!" Jeff looked stunned, "Lucius, kill? You must be mistaken. He once cried when I stepped on a spider."
"It did nothing to you!"
"Silence, demon!"

Kai had created an illusion to relive that part of Lucius's memory. They looked around and saw a young boy with long silvery hair identical to that of Lucius's. As they approached him, they noticed that it was indeed Lucius, but from about 5 years old.

Boy Lucius played with some blocks, crying when his twin brother (older by a few years) kicked them over and laughed. Lucius's parents ran to him and picked him up, trying to calm him. The memory faded, as the real Lucius shook violently, "Get out! You are not allowed to see that!"

Lucius yelled, "Get out!" A figure walked in the room, placing his hand on Lucius' head to calm him, and sending a pulse to throw Kai and Jeff out. The new demon that entered, glared at Kai, "How dare you enter such a sacred place."

"What?! Another one!!" Kai's rage boiled again.. This time though, he focused it on the heart of the demon that had entered. "Burn in **** demon!" Fire engulfed the demon's body, and he screeched with pain.

[Akai]

WHOOPS! lol

Moments later Kai awoke in Jeff's house. He looked around and saw Jeff, Pierre and the Demon all in the same room. "Hello again. Jeff, thank you, and I am terribly sorry for what I caused."

"No problem." Jeff grunted, pulled the ropes tighter as he tied Lucius to a chair. Lucius struggled a little, muffling something behind a gag. Pierre stood in the corner, his arms crossed.

No problem. At least you know someone's reading it. ;) I like reading back over past work. Keep it up. I know you can post a few chapters a day with all we've been doing. Haha. (Six hours straight)

Chapter 5: Ambush

Jeff went to Kai, "No! Stop!"

Will says:
Kai stopped focusing, he instead thought with extreme force about things that pleased him.. In moments, what little of the demon had been engulfed was out. "What are you talking about Jeff? He's a demon!!"

"If he dies, I won't get paid."

"What?!" Kai seemed shocked.

"All demons aren't that bad, and to be honest, I don't like doing this..."

"What do you mean though, You won't get paid?! What's that supposed to mean? Are you saying that you kill these demons as a JOB?!"

"It's hard to explain." Jeff sighed. The new demon untied Lucius, picking him up. "I pay them to ready Lucius for the war."

"What are you trying to say though? Wait.. do you mean that you actually make demons fight against each other?" Kai stood up and blocked the path of the demon holding Lucius.

"...You saw his memories. The other child you saw was Lucius' brother, Lucian. He has declared war on this village, and it's up to Lucius to save everyone. All demons are not bad, and you are killing the wrong one! Now get out of my way."

Kai stepped out of the way and walked to the wall.

He stopped, "My name is Heion. My father was a demon, and my mother was a human... I loved my mother, and she loved me, but my father hated us both and he killed her. Demons can be good or bad, same with humans. I suggest you open your eyes a little more, child." He paused, looking at Lucius, "If you want to apologize to him, we live in the large house at the far edge of the clearing, near the forest.

"Very well, I am sorry Heion. I had no idea that some Demons were good.. I was under the impression that they were all bad. That is all I have ever heard about them."

Heion bowed a little. "Just to give you fair warning, there are more demons living here, so try not to kill anyone."

"Are the demons here of your sort?"

"They are here for the war. They are friends."

"I see..." Kai placed his focus upon Jeff. "With your permission, I would like to accompany Heion. Of course, this is also up to you, Heion."

Heion smiled, "It's alright with me." Jeff growled, "I don't care."

"Thank you Heion, and you as well Jeff. I will remember to come back."

Jeff huffed. Heion walked out, bowing to Pierre as he left. Heion walked outside, looking at the dark sky, "What is your name, unless you like to be called Human?"

"HAHA.. No.. My name is Kai. I am from the village of Trinity Forest."

"Trinity Forest. I passed through there once... Nice place."

"Not for me anymore.. "

"Well, it was a long time ago, after I won my freedom."

"Your freedom? What.. do you mean when the demons, I suppose, seperated?"

"No. Humans kidnapped me as a child and enslaved me. Most humans do this, making us demons their pets... I finally had enough and killed them."

"Oh.. I'm sorry.. Why anyone would do something so barbaric, I have no clue. In the village I used to live in, the presence of a demon was a cause for panic, wheter it be the pet of a traveler or just wandering the village. One day I got enraged at the demons because they killed my mother, and the next thing I knew, they were on fire and the village was forcing me out."

"I see..." He nodded. "Would you like to stay with us for the night? Lucius can stay somewhere else."

"Very well, thank you Heion."

"Well, no use in bringing Lucius home." He changed course, stopping at a bland house, with a dead garden in front of it. He knocked on the door, waiting for it to open, "Was the demon attack on your parents provoked by something?"

"I don't believe so.. however, we did have a man in our village.. he had been there since long before my birth.. His name is.. Deitius. I don't know if that name has any meaning to you, but he was rumored to be a legendary demon killer."

"...No. I do not know that name." Heion sighed, as the door open. A huge fat man looked down at them, "Heion?... What happened to Lucius? Was it Marx again?"
"No. No.. He just needs to stay here for the night."
The fat man nodded, backing up to let them enter.

Kai whispered to Heion,"Who's that man? And who is Marx?"

Heion looked at Kai, "This is Gus. Marx is the leader's son, a friend of Lucius." He walked in.

"Oh.. Alright. Hello Gus, nice to meet you, I'm Kai."

Gus smiled, "Hello, Kai. Nice to meet you as well. Come in. I'm sorry, but we've just finished dinner."

"That's fine. Wow.. seems like you do have a mess.. Care if I help out?"

"No no. Rosie will clean up, I'm sure. She loves to help Daddy out."

"Rosie? That name sounds familiar.."

A small demon girl flew out, dressed in some oversized pajamas. She landed on Gus's shoulders, "Daddy, I washed my face and brushed my teeth. Can I help you clean, please?"
"Yes, yes... Uncle Lucius will be spending the night." Gus smiled. Rosie gasped, smiling big, "Yay! He sleeps with me!"

"ROSIE!! It's been ages since I've seen you. You're a demon now? I had no idea.."

She looked at him, "Who are you?..." Gus looked at Kai, "How do you know my Rosie?"

"Rosie.. I remember you.. I remember your mother.. You were always a kind girl.. even so young.. and you mother had such a kind heart."

"Daddy... What is he talking about?" Rosie grabbed Gus's vest, hiding in it. Gus looked angry, "I don't know... Get out."

"Rosie.. it's me Kai.. How come you don't you remember me?"

She looked. Gus grabbed his bow and an arrow, aiming it at Kai, "Get out of my house!"

"Gus.. I'm telling you.. I know Rosie.. and I know that she remembers me.. Comon Rosie.. think!"

"Get out! Get out of my house!" He shot the arrow, hitting the floor by his feet.

"Rosie.. it's me. You have to remember me."

Heion put a hand on Kai's shoulder, "Let's just go."

"Heion.. I know that Rosie remembers, please.. let me do this? Gus, I know Rosemary.. I know Rosie.. Please.. believe me.. As a matter of fact, Rosemary, she knew my mother.. Do you remember her Gus? Her name, Stelluna."

Heion put Lucius on his shoulder, picking Kai up, jumping out of the house. "Kai, stop this. You have no knowledge of why Rosie is there."

"What do you mean Heion?" Kai thought back to his memory of Rosie.. she was always such a cute little child.. 'If only she would have remembered...'

"This is not the Rosie you know. Rosie has always been a demon. Lucius told me of a time he and Gus were captured by a demon village, and while in captivity, the kind leader released them, and begging for Gus to let Rosie live with him. She doesn't know that Gus isn't her real father, and you were just about to ruin it."

"Rosie has been a demon the whole time??"

"...She has."

"Oh.. So then, why is it she couldn't remember me though?"

"She is not the Rosie you remember."

"What do you mean by that? Was she less of a demon before? Or was her memory wiped clean?"

"She is not the Rosie you know..." He dropped him, "Now come on."

Kai grumbled.. "Fine, but where are we going to go now?"

"Home... Lucius will have to sleep somewhere else, I guess."

"Why can't he just sleep in the house with us?"

"There isn't enough room, and you are the guest."

"I don't need any room.. I can sleep under levitation. I'm certain I won't be in the way."

"Why are you so stubborn?"

"I don't know.. I'm just.. I only have had these powers of mine for about a week.. However, I've worked out so many ways that I can use some of them. Others, though, I still need to learn to control.. Like, for instance, did you notice that forest, not too far from where Jeff and I were at?"

"Yes. I wasn't the only one. Most of the villagers think a demon did it, so if anyone asks you, don't answer."

"Well, I did that.."

"I know, but don't let them know."

"How did you know?"

"Your scent was heavy in that area... Let's go." He hurried to the house.

"Oh.. alright.." Kai ran to the house after Heion.

Heion stopped just short of the house he had mentioned, "Kai. Go... Run to the house."

"Why? Are we being followed?"

"Yes. and remember, keep quiet."

"I can help."

"No. Run."

"Fine.." Kai ran to the house.

"Wait... Take Lucius."

Kai lifted Lucius and carried him to the door.

Heion looked around. A net fell over Kai and Lucius, pinning them to the ground. Several slayers, Jeff and Pierre included, jumped out, drawing their weapons.

"What's going on??" Kai was speaking to Heion through telepathy.

"They found you. Just stay calm." He replied, turning around.

"Why are they after me?"

"I'm guessing your friend ratted you out." He was staring at Jeff.

"Can I please fight? I need to protect Lucius!"

"No. I want to see how this plays out."

"Heion, if they are after me, then I need to defend myself at least!"

"No. I want you to see how demons are treated. You wanted to kill Lucius and myself. Once you see your mistake, I will save you."

"So then, I am going to see what evil demons are truly treated like?"

"You are forbidden to use any of your power." He walked up, "Good evening, slayers."

One stood up, "We caught two demons. This plague has got to stop." Jeff nodded, "He nearly killed me..."

"I am no demon!!"

A swift kick came to his side, "Shut up, demon." A tall man walked up, looking calmly at Kai and Lucius. "Send Lucius to rest. Take the other demon to the post." The other slayers cheered, picking Kai up in the net, leaving Lucius on the ground.

Will says:
"Heion!! What's going on?"

"You seem to be a dangerous demon..." He watched calmly, picking Lucius up and taking him in the house. The slayers laugh dropping Kai in front of a huge post that was driven in the ground. The net was ripped off him and ropes tied him to the post. Callisto, the other man, walked up, his arms crossed, "Gather the others. It's time for a stoning."

[Pokemaster]

Chapter 6: Brothers' Encounter

Kai's rage outburst. Flames were instantly ignited with such great force that it felt like they were on the sun. Kai's body became a molten inferno. "GET AWAY!!" Fireballs started to fall from the sky, landing all around Kai.

Callisto took a step back, "Quickly, kill the demon!" The others pulled their weapons, taking their time to get a good hit in.

"STOP IT BEFORE YOU DIE!!" At that moment, a great storm of lightning came down along with the fire. Sonic screeching made the men cover their ears. "GET AWAY!!!!"

Gus walked out, coming to the stoning. He pulled an arrow and shot it deep in Kai's chest, the arrow's tip coated with a strong sleeping poison.

Kai fell asleep, but his powers raged on. "Heion.. what did you do? You caused this didn't you?"

Heion closed his eyes, "No.. You did this. Now, stop it."

"What did I do to deserve this?"

"Stop this or you will die!"

"I haven't done anything.. I can't control this right now.. My anger caused this.. I can't do anything!!"

"...Then good bye, Kai. It was nice knowing you."

"Heion!!" Kai's body started to transform.. he was becoming stronger. Time froze instantly. An old man appeared in front of him. "Kai, you have used this power in ways you cannot imagine. You can control it. You just have to think that you can. Don't doubt your powers.. They will help you, and at times they will hurt you. Which it does is solely up to you." "So, then I can stop this? But how? I don't know how to control my powers yet." "Yes you do, but you must search for that knowledge inside of you." "Inside me.." He closed his eyes and began to chant.. the fire stopped, the lightning ceased, and the sonic screech disappeared.. Then, Kai passed out.

"Gus..." Callisto looked at him. He nodded, "Can I take him? He also wronged me." "Of course..." He walked off. The slayers moaned, following him. Gus went to Kai, untying him and carrying him to his house, laying him down.

Kai awoke several hours later, in a building that seemed unfamiliar to him. "Where am I?!" He hollered.

Gus snorted, sitting up. He was sitting at Kai's bedside, waiting for him to wake up. "Boy... why do you care about Rosie so much?" He got up, tightening a few ropes that Kai was tied up in.

"Gus.. where am I?"

"In my house." He looked down at Kai.

"Well, as far as the reason I care about Rosie, it's because I grew up with her, or at least I thought I did.. I had no idea that you weren't her father.. Heion told me.."

"I was told I resemble him so much, and to her, he never left. If she were to know I wasn't her father, it would kill her, and me."

"I'm sorry to have almost brought up such confusion, but I knew her.. I knew your wife Rosemary too.. She was very kind to me and my mother."

"Was this before she was blinded?"

"Yes.. I knew her while I was a young child.. and then when she went blind, my mother tried so much to do as much as she could for her. My mother and Rosemary were very close friends."

"...You're hurting me, you know."

"I'm sorry Gus.. I knew her very well.. and I can see why you loved her. I'd feel the same way if I were you.. After all, I lost my mother a few weeks ago.."

He walked off. "You will sleeping here for the night. I'm sorry, but I cannot untie you."

"Can I ask why not? Gus, I'm not a demon.."

"I don't care. I don't like you."

"Fine, but who was that with you, Jeff, and Pierre?"

"...The tall man who gave the orders?"

"Yes.. who was he?"

"He was Callisto, the leader of this village."

"Callisto.. Ok.. "

"He seems to be the strong type. Once he's set on something, it's hard for him to change his mind."

"Well, why did you all jump me? And why did Heion seem to know it was going to happen?"

"They think you're a demon. I do as well." He sighed, scratching his belly, "Heion seems to know everything."

"Gus, I'm not a demon.."

"You're evil."

"Gus.. will you at least listen to me for a little bit?"

"No. You almost took Rosie away from me." He teared up, walking out of the room, slamming the door shut, leaving Kai in darkness. A figure climbed through the window, falling to the floor. "Ow... Kai? Kai?"

"Who's there?"

"It's me... Lucius." He coughed, hitting his head on something, whimpering a little.

"Let me talk to you in your mind.. I don't want Gus coming back."

"Ok.... Talk about what?"

"Well, what happened? Why were they attacking me, when I was trying to help you?"

"I don't know... I was out, I believe. Gus is really nice. He won't hurt you."

"He doesn't like me.. "

"He does. He used a sleeping arrow on you to spare your life."

"Well, why else would he be so rude to me?"

"Kai, please. It's not as bad as you think."

"Well, can you at least get me outta here? I'd like it if we could sit down and finish our conversation that Heion interrupted."

Lucius looked at him, "I'd rather not... This village hates me enough."

"So then, you aren't going to release me?"

"I'm sorry, but I will stay with you."

"Well, can we at least finish our conversation? I'd like to learn more about the demons, both good and bad.."

"What do you want to know?"

"I guess everything. You see, I was once human, like you. I was made into a demon to save the world, but my father's vision was never seen..."

"Oh.. I see.. Well, firstly, can you tell me why they think I am a demon? I am just psychic.. and I want to help you."

"Well, no human here can produce fire. They're afraid, I think... That's why they are afraid of demons."

"Well, I don't understand how I got this way... "

"You may be a demon. The people here do fear of turning into demons."

"But there is no demon blood in my family.."

"There doesn't have to be. Demons didn't exist until my brother was made into one."

"So then, how could I have become one? If what you are saying is true, then I would have had to be experimented on right?"

"No... This was over 300 years ago."

"What do you mean? How old are you Lucius?"

"Over 300..." He sat down on the bed, "Do you mind if I lay here for a moment?"

"Not at all.. at least you aren't trying to kill me.... This is really starting to get uncomfortable.." Kai, weak with exhaustion, twisted his arms as much as he could, at least trying to loosen them.

He turned to Kai, hugging on him, curling around him, going to sleep.

'Ok, this is kinda odd.. ' thought Kai. 'Well, it's not hurting anyone.. so I guess I can let it pass.'

He mumbled something, yawning.

At that moment, Kai's body started to jerk violently.. He was moving, and his eyes turned solid black..

Lucius hugged him tighter, "Bonzo, no dancing on the pancakes."

Kai's body kept jerking for several minutes, till he finally stopped.... He was gasping for breath and was finally able to breathe again.. "Lucius!! Wake up!"

He fell from the bed, "What?! What's happening?"

"It's Heion, he's in trouble.. There's a massive group of demon slayers.. They've got him captured!!"

Lucius shot up, "What?! Where?!... why?"

"It's near the place that I first met you.. It's in the forest!"

"Why? I don't understand."

"It's a large group of demon slayers! Do you think they need a reason?"

"But, why? Heion doesn't cause trouble. He's not their enemy."

"I don't know.. but they were getting paid for it Lucius!!"

"By who!? Tell me!"

"It was another demon.. He had large black wings.. he doesn't look like any demon I've seen before."

"Does this demon resemble a Daichym?"

"I don't know what a Daichym looks like.. Describe one to me."

"Big... commonly dark red, um, with huge claws and teeth, white mane..."

"Yes! That's it! Only this particular demon, he looked crossed of that and a human.. Does that mean anything?"

"Lucian!" He shot up. "I got to save him. Heion doesn't deserve this." He went to Kai, trying to untie him.

"No.. Lucius.. you'll have to leave me.. I want to help, but I can't.."

"Are you sure?" He got up, as the door opened. Gus, holding Rosie, stood in it.

"Lucius, I'll give you a small portion of my power to help you.." He started to chant under his breath.

"Gus... what are you doing?" Lucius backed up. Gus gave him a sad look. "I'm sorry." He suddenly stumbled forward, the demon Kai spoke of stepping in. Lucius paled a little, "..Lucian."

[Kaboom]

Chapter 7: Heading to Heion

"Lucius.. that's him!!!"

The new demon stepped in, "Well... Lucius, dear brother. It's been a while. I thought it was time for a visit." Lucius shaked a little, scared.
Gus crawled to them, protecting Rosie, leaning against the bed, "Lucius, I'm sorry... He just."
"It's ok..." Lucius breathed out, his voice weak with terror.

"Lucius.. you two are.. brothers?" He was unaware that Lucius's brother could scare him so badly. Kai began to try to loosen the ropes. 'I have to help Lucius,' thought Kai.

Lucian glanced at Kai, "Unless you want your wings to be ripped out, Lucius, I'd tell your friend to stop his feeble attempts at escape."

Kai stopped wriggling instantly.. He figured he should talk to Lucius through telepathy still. "Lucius.. What is Lucian doing here? How did he find you? I thought he was after Heion."

Lucius fell back on the floor, "He wants everyone dead, Kai. It's my job to defeat him, but I can't. I'm so scared..." Tears collected in his eyes. Gus hugged onto Rosie.

"So then, this is why Jeff and Pierre were after you? To train to fight Lucian?" Kai's worry for Lucius's life was starting to flood.. Tears that he had not expected came.

Lucian walked up to Lucius, "Brother, why waste time with these humans? Step aside and your death will be quick and painless. I promise." He stared at a scared Lucius until he whipped around, kicking him into the wall, nearly breaking it through. "Weakling..."

"Lucius!!" Kai wondered if he was ok.. "Lucian, why do you want the human race to die?"

He looked at him, "Because they are a plague, thinking themselves as kings or gods. It's sickening really... Plus, their screams and cries for mercy amuse me..."

"Trust me, I don't like the idea of kings or gods anywhere near as much as you do.. but that's no reason to wipe us out.. if it were up to me anyways, I'd only kill those that think so much higher of themselves in comparison to those who they think must take orders from them.. Such as my father.."

"You're forgetting about the best part." He formed a shadowy blade in his hand. Lucius coughed, pushing up, trying to catch him breath. Lucian glanced at him, launching the dagger deep into Lucius' back. He gasped, screaming in pain. Lucian laughed, "What a wonderful scream..."

"Lucius!! Lucian, why do you take such great pleasure in your brother's demise?"

"He's weak. He always has been... I wouldn't be here if weak little Lucius could actually kill something!" He made another dagger, taking aim.

"Then think about this, your brother spared your life! Wouldn't you think it fair to do the same?"

"No." He flung a second dagger into Lucius. He looked at Kai, "Tell me, what kind of human are you?" He chuckled, "Oh, my... Tied up? How amusing."

"Actually.. I'm not sure what kind of human I am anymore either.. I have great power stored within me.. Power that I never imagined before I turned 16.. Then everything changed.."

Lucian held a hand up, forming a dark rope, "Fat man. Rise..." Gus shook his head. Lucian gave a cold stare, "Get up..."
Lucius fell to his side, "Gus... please." Gus slowly got to his feet. Lucian lunged at Gus, taking Rosie and quickly tying Gus up. He turned around, pushing Gus on the bed with Kai, making it creak. He tied a screaming Rosie up and threw her on the bed.

"Lucius, can I use my power?" Kai asked this same question to Gus, considering they both thought of him as a demon now."

Lucius got to his feet, coughing out blood, "No..."
Lucian turned, "No?"
"Get out of this house." He formed a fist, running to Lucian. Lucian smirked, sending a swift knee into Lucius's stomach and elbowing the back of his head.
"Silly brother..."

"Lucius.. You have to let me help.."

Lucian picked Lucius up, throwing him on the bed, "Now... stay here." He walked to the door. "Anyone try anything... and Lucius pays for it."

Kai started to think very rapidly... "Lucian, wait! Can I come with you? I'd like to demonstrate my power to you.. Allow my father to be our first target. I'll kill him, then you can devour him."

Lucian stopped, "Excuse me?... Team up with a human. Now you die!" He shot a dagger at Kai. Lucius somehow found the strength to jump in front of it, getting hit in the head, having the blade sink in deep into the skull. Lucian laughed, "Oh well... It was fun while it lasted." Lucius fell forward, falling off the bed, hitting the floor limply. Rosie cried, "Uncle Lucius!" Gus watched in horror, glad to here the door close. Lucian was gone.

"Lucius!!!! Gus untie me now!! I have to do this, but in order to, I need to be untied.. it may well be the only way to save Lucius!!"

Gus looked away, "I can't untie you... I can't even untie myself. Lucius will be okay."

"Fine then!" Kai started to chant rapidly.. the ropes around Rosie, Gus, and himself slid off. Kai stood up, and propped Lucius up.. There was blood everywhere because of the dagger wound.. "Stand back Gus. You too Rosie!" He began to chant as fast as possible.. The dagger slid out of Lucius's head and the wound began to heal.

Gus quickly grabbed Kai, "No... don't."

Kai stopped.. "What? Why?"

"Lucius can heal himself. I once saw him come back from death."

"Are you serious? So then, he can't die?"

"No... I think he told me that he remembers dying a couple times. It's his power..."

"His.. power..." Kai stepped back from Lucius.

Lucius's body began to glow, the blood getting pulled back into him and the wounds closing up.

"Lucius.. you're.. ok? Gus.. you were right! So, do all demons have this power?"

Gus smiled, picking up Rosie, "No... Only Lucius can do this. Other demons have powers, but nothing like this."

"I see.. Rosie? I want to apologize for scaring you earlier.. it must have been my imagination, I thought that I knew you, because, when I was a bit younger, there was a girl in my village that looked very similar to you."

Rosie yawned. Gus laughed, "Par. It is late... I need to put her back to bed."

"Ok, I understand.. Lucius, let's leave her be, I'm sure she's very tired. This has been a very eventful day."

He nodded, getting up. "Kai, I'm sorry for scaring you... I should have told you."

"Well, you didn't have time, because of Lucian. That reminds me, now if you don't mind, I'd really like to learn as much as I can from you about the demons, and this war that is raging around everywhere."

"It's not everywhere... Just here, in this village." He sighed, "He told us that when the last leaf falls, the war will begin."

"I see.. Well, can we talk about this more in the living room? I don't feel like waking Rosie, or keeping her awake for that matter."

"We can talk, trying to save Heion."

"Alright.. let's go then! I'll try to see if I can contact him from this far away." Kai tried as hard as he could, but he couldn't reach Heion's mind from where they were.. He needed to be closer.

Lucius walked out, "Where is he? Do you know?"

Kai fumbled through his mind, trying to remember his vision.. "He's at the forest.. It's.. It's near my village.. I know the place.. follow me!" Kai made a platform of stone and hopped onto it.

He grew his small wings out, "I'd rather fly."

"Fine then, have it your way." Kai made the stone rise up into the air, and he soared for the place from which he was once abandoned.

Lucius followed him, noticing something flying nearby. The shadowy figure moving to Kai. Lucius gasped, flying faster, grabbing Kai, before the shadow got to him.

Chapter 8: Meeting with Ixion

"Lucius! What is it? Why'd you grab me?"

"Troy..." He gasped, seeing the figure fly off, and suddenly drop into the forest below.

"Troy? Who's he?"

"He's a friend... He's going to save Heion. We should stay out of the way."

"What? We still need to help him! Troy may not be enough to stop the slayers alone!"

"Believe me... He can." He stopped, flapping his wings a few times.

"Well, can we at least go and keep an eye out just in case?"

Lucius gulped, "If you wish..."

"Well, at least we can keep an eye on Heion in case they try anything while Troy is fighting them."

"No... it's just.... nevermind." He whimpered, flying off.

"Lucius.. tell me.." Kai demanded.

"No... I don't want to."

"Lucius.. please.. Do you honestly think that these demonslayers are going to do it fairly? I don't.."

"I wouldn't worry about fairplay."

"Ok then.. Let's go!" Kai stood back up on his rock and rocketed towards his village again.

Lucius flew after him, "No! Stop!"

"What now?"

"Don't go watch. Please..."

"What? Why?"

"Because of Troy."

"Why? Ohh.. do you think he will mistake me as an enemy or something?"

"Yes! You are a human, and he hates humans. Please don't go."

"What if I'm not human though.. How can I find out the truth?"

"Your scent. Even if he's wrong, he won't care." Lucius hugged on Kai, "Please... stay away."

"Fine.. but where can I go to find out if I am more than just human?? What if I am a demon?"

"I don't know. If you were born human, you are still human."

"But I don't know for sure.. my mom said I was, but I have no idea what my father would say.."

"Kai... can I meet your father?"

"Sure.. but I'll tell you now.. I don't know what he'd think of you.. However, perhaps you recognize his name? It's Ixion."

"...Ixion? I'm sorry, but I don't. Do you want to see him now? Would he mind?"

I don't think so.. and I've yet to see him in 6 years.. he won't recognize me very well, and he has no knowledge of my powers."

"Where is he?" He coughed, gagging, turning away.

"He is the king of the villiage Sateda. It's a 5 day walk from my village.. but with us like this, we could make it in around 2 hours tops."

He nodded, covering his nose, "Troy's done... Which way is it?"

"South.. Let's go." Kai sped in the direction of the castle belonging to his father. He hadn't seen him in 6 years.. 'I wonder if he will even accept me in the castle..'

Lucius followed, watching the sun slowly rising up.

Nearly 2 hours later, Kai and Lucius made it to the castle. "There, just below here." Kai flew to the ground, and hopped of his rock to land neatly on his feet.

Lucius laned next to him, folding his wings back and shrinking them to a smaller size. "Does he like demons? Or will a possible attack become of me?"

"It won't matter if he does attack or not.. Once they know I'm his son, they will let us pass. I have this." Kai pulled a necklace out from underneath his shirt. It bore the symbol engraved on the castle grounds. "This is the only necklace ever made like this, and everyone knows that I am the only one to own it."

"Kai, I don't mind." He sighed, "Lead the way."

Kai headed towards the castle doors. Out of nowhere around 30 soldiers came out with swords and axes. "Who are you? And what is that demon doing here?"
"My name.. is Kai. I am the son of Ixion. If you wish to deny my words, let this be proof enough for you all." He pulled out the necklace yet again. "The demon is with me. Now let us pass."

"..." Lucius looked at them, surprised at the sudden arrival of the men.

The men, shocked with this truth, stepped aside. Kai began to open the front castle door. "Coming?"

"Yes, of course." He followed Kai.

Kai walked into the castle.. It seemed so much bigger years ago.. Minutes later, they approached the throne. A man with long black hair and emerald green eyes was sitting in it. "Who are you?" the man inquired.
"Father, it's me, Kai."
"Kai? I haven't seen you in ages!! Look at you.. how old are you now?" His sight set on Lucius. "WHAT'S THAT DEMON DOING HERE?"
"Father, his name is Lucius. He helped me out. I want to ask you a question, and Lucius wanted to meet you. Now, father, mother has told me that I have absolutely no demon blood in my bloodline, however, I wanted to ask you the same question for reasons that will become known to you if you send any of your men to attack us."

Lucius stepped in front of Kai, going to Kai's father, "Please, sir, I mean no harm, but if you feel better, having me in cuffs, then please, do it. I want you to know, I am no threat."

"Well, Lucius, my son has always had a good judgement about people, human or monster, so there will be no need for that. Kai, I guess you should know the whole truth. You do have demon blood in you, however, you are not a demon.. You merely have the power of the demon that was a member of our family. He is my great-great-grandfather. His name was Valefor. He could use great abilities that most humans thought to be the work of a full demon. However, Valefor was only part demon. His blood trailed down the family.. and it lies in you as well. What is your reason though?"
Kai hesitated,"This is why." He chanted and made fire erupt from his arms and legs.. He was slowly turning into the inferno that he had become before.
"Kai!! What's happening?"
"This is my power father. Whether I use it for good or bad is my choice." Kai then transformed back.
"I see.. Well, you know the truth now.."

"...How could you keep this from him? Even if he's not demon, he has the powers of one. This could kill him!"
