Now, as many of us know, youtube often takes down the best videos in a matter of weeks after posting. So, how do we keep them?
Before you do it
Know that this requires a good amount of ram, a good processor, and enough hard drive space.
Do it!
1. Download and Install Firefox if you haven't already
2. Download this firefox extension: Video Download Helper (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006), Restart Firefox
3. Now, on most flash video sites, you can download videos. For instance, go to youtube, now on the top of your browser the previously greyed out item is colored, click the arrow next to it, now choose the second icon. Click save.
4. Now we have the video, but we can't view it. So, we need a player to view it. There are a bunch out there, you can look for your own, but I use Video LAN (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). It is a bit rough around the edges.
