Welcome to the Fan Fiction School!

Kaboom entered the classroom and wrote "Grand Opening" in big, colourful letters on the blackboard. He then sat down and waited for people to take interest.

That's the sort of thing known as "fan fiction". It's where a person writes a story (based on Pokémon) of their own invention. Now, I've navigated a fair few forums, and most of them have a FanFic section. And the quality of those fictions varied from "poor" to "abysmal", with the occasional one earning "acceptable" rating, and even fewer worthy of the "excellent" title. I want to help you to make every FanFic "excellent", which would be a great improvement.

Pokemaster: The FanFic section is pretty much dead, anyway.
Kaboom: How come?
Pokemaster: Akai killed it.
Kaboom: Akai's done loads of FanFics - why so you say she killed it?
Pokemaster: Akai never finished them. They just lasted a couple chapters and then lay forgotten...

In order to get things going, there will be a number of lessons based around making an excellent fanfic. There will also be times when I ask you to do excercises. Then, you can write a fanfic and the teachers will make their comments.

Enroll now! (please) Class will start as soon as somebody joins.

Alright. ^^

Name: Shiny
Why you want to learn: Writing comes in handy in life, and I like making people "awe" at my fanfics.
Have you had any experience in FanFic writing?: Hmm, good question. I've been around a couple of times, but I think I can still learn a whole lot. ^^

Name: Braz Castana
Why you want to teach: To Teach Them How To Write A Good FanFic.
Link to some of your material: dont have a link.
But Here is some material.

"I dont want anything from you, Just Kiss Me!", Sapphire cried to Braz, "I just cant, I dont want to betray my true love", Sapphire replied, "You have two choices, either kiss Me and be my friend forever, or just leave me and walk out of that door forever". Braz couldn't betray his love for Shiny Espeon, So he left Sapphire alone in that room, heartbroken.

And
Have you had any experience in FanFic writing?: Yes, I had written a love story with Renita and Me as the main characters. I would've posted the link, but sadly PokemonCrater is dead.

Cool, I got interest! I wasn't sure if anyone was going to join!

Braz, you may have a little more to learn, but that doesn't stop you being a teacher. Lesson starts tomorrow, but more people can join in when they like.

Right, here's how this gig is going to work:
Each student will make a thread for "doing their excercises." The teachers will comment and correct whenever possible (constructive criticism only), and hopefully this will work all right.
I'll be taking my own fanfic as an example, to demonstrate things.

OK, here goes:
Lesson 1: Getting Started
The first thing any fanfic needs is a spacio-temporal setting. That means a time and a place for the story. Normally, FanFics are set somewhere other than Earth and/or somewhen other than now.
For instance, my story takes place in the world of the Pokémon games, in a new region called Crindo. The story takes place in relatively recent past, leading up to the present day. Usually, inventing your own place leaves more room for freedom of development than using one that already exists. Creating your own world means you can model it in any way you like, adding things as you go along to make the story more exciting.

The first excercise, therefore, is to give as much of a detailed description of a world/region/location that you have made up. If it is a different planet, provide information on climate, moons, suns, etc.. You should describe the sort of people/creatures that live there, what they look like, how they survive, what they eat...

Make your text the first "chapter" of a FanFic. Don't bother with a title yet (unless you already have a decent idea for one or can edit it later.)

I need a day to finish mine. I'm in the middle of animal descriptions.

Hold on mentor. Thanks.
