Yeah, I certainly see use for it, though I can see why you'd think that, anyway:
-Its so people actually wish others happy birthday
-It adds a good aura to the forum (I've been playing Sim City DS too much)
-People who don't want there birthday to be on demand can post it here, then later have it requested to be removed
