Who else is excited about this movie?
It's from Tim Burton, and stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jayne Wisener, Jamie Campbell Bower, Laura Mich3lle Kelly and a bunch of other people of lesser importance.

If you don't know the story, I'll try not to spoil is that much for you...
It's about a man (Johnny Depp) who was wrongfully accused of a crime by a jealous man (Alan Rickman), who happens to be a judge. The main character is locked up for 15 years, hoping to return to his wife and daughter, but comes to find out that his wife is dead and his daughter is with the judge. Johnny starts a barber shop and lures everyone who ever wronged him to him, killing them after (or during) their shave. This is a musical, so I'm very excited about that. It's a horror/musical.

*Yes, the 3 in Mich3lle is suppose to be there. The censorship here is crazy. :(

Tim Burton's version looks way too over-the-top for me. I have been in love with this musical for yeeears. I'm reading the novel the musical is based off of right now. It's radically different. @_@ I haven't seen the movie yet, but I heard the blood was over-done. I have heard Depp sing, and he doesn't sound too bad. How are the other singers?

Not bad. The actress playing Mrs. Lovett is good... very good. Her first song won me over. The blood's not that bad. It's just the first time he kills, it's everywhere, but (come on) he's new at this. The one that was weird was Alan Rickman. I will always see him as Severus Snape, for some reason. Ugh! JK Rowling made a character that I'll never forget! If you can just turn away on the blood, go see it. It's good, but the ending sucks. It ends to abuptly.

Sweeny Todd, who is missing his wife and daughter, scares his daughter away, unknowingly, and kills his wife, who he thinks is dead. He kills Mrs. Lovett for "lying" to him, and then Toby kills him for killing Mrs. Lovett. It fades out on his dying body.

What's wrong with the ending? I mean, if it's the same as the stage productions, it's supposed to be an emotional climax, complete with an awesome slamming door. XP I know What Sweeney does and how he, uh, leaves the play (trying to play down any spoilers). Is it the same or is it just BAM, in you're face over?

I didn't find it emotional. If you read the spoiler, that's what I thought. The ending seemed a little rushed to me.

The ending just...fades out? That's it? ****. That's disappoining.

I recomend that you rent a stafe production. They are far better.

Yeah. Other than that, check it out. I could use a second opinion about it. I may read the book of it.

If you want to read the book, I'll warn you: it gets boring by the third chapter. The first is awesome, as it introduces our hero and Toby as his apprentice. It's really confusing. I'm taking a break from it right now. XD;;;

Is it the same title as the movie? Who's the author? Sorry, I'm a noob at books. I read them, but I'm not hardcore. Haha.
