View Full Version : Music Players (help me!)
I need help. I really need to get me a music player, but I'm not sure what. I know there's an iPod thread, but I'm not sure if that's the only option. I know there's MP3 players... meh. I need some young kids to help me. This is your generation of technology. Thanks for any help. I want to know the general prices of certain things so I can narrow my choices down.

I'm in and all over this category all at the same time. Music is mine.
iPods are, in my opinion, one of the best music players. I personally like them more than MP3s because they look cooler. I also like them more than Zunes because Zunes are kinda freaky. And finally, CD players...don't even go there. O-o;;
Now, there are different capacities and prices of iPods (I'm not going to list them all, just some I think you should know about).
iPod Shuffle - It can't hold many songs, and there is no screen! However, it's cheap and it's useful for people who only like one genre of music and who don't mind what's playing.
1 GB iPod - can hold only up to 500 songs (my brother overused this quickly) and has a price of...maybe 50 to 70 dollars? This is a nice iPod to start off with if you're just starting to like music.
4 GB iPod - I actually want this iPod because my brother took over our 30 gB iPod as his own. The 4 GB can hold up to 1,000 songs, and is actually a slender iPod. ($70, I believe?)
30 GB - This is a physically bigger iPod that can hold up to 20,000 songs. If you're a person who likes to download every song in the world, this iPod is for you. (I'm not sure about the cost.)
iPod Touch - Um...this is basically really expensive and it has everything you could want on it.
Make a choice, yah? :)
Wow... Thanks. Heh.
I think the 1GB will work fine. Sadly, all I have is a CD player for the moment, but I need something more mobile, you know. Something that can play more than 20-21 songs, with earbuds! Yay!
Thanks a lot. I'll let you know when and if I get one. :)

I know what you mean. CD players suck, especially if you're trying to use a treadmill while listening to them. >_< (Whoa, I haven't used that emoicon since forever!)
Ah, wise choice young grasshopper. I hope that you get that iPod and that you enjoy it.
Btw, make sure you get good headphones.
I may get ear buds, but my ears are weird... They never fit...
Shiny Espeon

Don't get ear buds. They trap the sound in your ear, and within 15 minutes your ears will start to hurt.
Get the earphones that clip onto your ear but the ones that don't go into your ear.
Yeah, I was thinking about that. But I normally like my music loud. (Haha) I'm going to be deaf soon... what? Ehh?
Shiny Espeon
12-23-2007, 11:42 AM
Heh, I like my music loud too because I like to bang my head and sing it out! Let the music flow into my soul, man!
*cough* However, my brother sometimes puts volume limits on our iPod because of that. Good brother, he doesn't want me to go deaf.
I'll have to wait until after Christmas... and New Years to get it. The mobs at the after Christmas sells are CR@ZY!

Yep, I'll be one of those people at the after Christmas sales. xDD
Well, you have fun with that iPod when you get it.
O_O;; Do you fight with little old ladies over something? I've heard horror stories about after Christmas shopping. I may have to wait until Feb until I can get one. I forgot about taking inventory. I'll wait until after that, then they'll get a fresh new shipment in. Yay!

O-O;; No, but my mom honestly fights with the other people. She gets what she wants, even if she has to be scary about it or cause a scene...
Should I close this thread, or do you have any more q's on the iPod, or?...[I dun want to get into trouble for spamming. :P]
Please don't close this, I do have more questions.
How do you put songs on it? Can you take them off after you add?
I know you download them. I'm thinking go to a place like iTunes and buy them to download, correct? Can you put songs from CDs to you computer and them download them there? This is getting confusing. Haha.

You can buy songs off iTunes. And yes, you can copy songs from CDs on to iTunes and then download them on to iTunes. That's how my family gets their songs anyways... from CDs.
:( ... I wanted Shiny Espeon to answer. It makes her feel smart. (Haha.)

I wouldn't download songs off iTunes because it cost money and you can dowload songs off Limewire for free.
And yeah, you could totally take off all the songs or put new songs on there whenever you want. Putting new songs on the iPod is easy; creating a new folder on the iPod can be slightly confusing at times.

Yeah, Catty gets most of her songs off CDs...I think. xD
Oh, and I got a 4GB iPod Nano for Christmas! It's so sexy and it cost more than I thought it would.
I think iTunes cost like $.99 per song, right? I'll check out Limewire.
Shiny Espeon
12-26-2007, 03:33 PM
Oh. I'm not sure how much it costs, but I definitely wouldn't want to pay for 1,000 songs when I could get them for free! ;]
Haha. Another reason why I'm getting the cheapest one. 500 songs. XD In case I do go overboard.
Tell me. Can I take songs off or delete them once they're on the iPod?
Shiny Espeon
12-26-2007, 11:40 PM
Yes, of course! You could very easily take songs off and delete them. ;]
EX: My brother deleted all of my songs off his iPod because I have my own now.
Cools. I'm off work Saturday, Monday and Tuesday... I may shop with some of my Christmas money. Do you have any suggestions on the place to buy it? Is Wal*Mart good? (lol)

And limewire has a horrible virus in it that really messes up your computer -_-
@Akai: Have you tried amazon or any other online site? They have great stuff cheap.(And legal)
And for when you're on the computer there's www.deezer.com that's free and legal.(Can't download, but you can use audacity or some other program to record it http://forums.ragdollsoft.com/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif

Have you done a virus scan lately?
Ok... I leave for a few hours and my problem got worse. I'll just forget the iPod if it's that much trouble.
Learn to read. I have one!
Read again! I do use it. Go back to the first page and read it several times.
Where's a good place to buy iPods? (a question of mine, that was previously ignored)

try the internet, unless you don't trust the internet, then you could try Radioshack.

Yes, I've done a virus scan. Limewire doesn't hurt my computer.

Walmart is prolly the easiest place you can buy it. Other than that, I would say Best Buy or Radioshack.

Thanks, now that I've regained my sanity temporarily, those posts were starting to hurt my eyes.
EDIT: This will be my last post in this thread, seeing that my services are useless.
Wal*Mart? I'll try there, since it'll be cheap and it is a certified Apple carrier. I just think I'll keep buying/borrowing CDs and switching them over. Or I may just get them from iTunes. I was going to say 5 songs a month, so I won't go overboard and end up paying out the wah-zoo for them. lol

So stop suggesting it!

Doing some things on Limewire isn't legal, but downloading songs isn't illegal.
=/
I tried LimeWire. It costs to download. I'd rather get CDs. I'll help me reference.

It costs to download? How much? =/
To download the LimeWire system. Give me a link that goes directly to the songs...
I think it was $13.95.

I know iTunes is $.99 a song, and I already have an account there.

Na, I was just wondering. Do what you feel is right for your iPod. ^^
Gahh!! ><;; I haven't gotten my iPod yet! T~T
I do have a question... if I give out my PO Box (via PM, if you can keep a secret) will you (anyone) send my some burnt CDs with random songs? Of course we can talk about which songs. I like a lot of 80s songs (go figure) so we can party on from there... Sound good? Anyone interested? Yes, no, maybe?... Help a brother out... in a way.

I'll help ya. ^_^ I can keep your location a secret, you know that...well, you do now. XP I have a randomly wide range of music avaliable to me, so anything you want, I can probably send ya.
Sure. Get on Yahoo, and we'll talk. ;) The offer's still up for other generous peoples.

Alexi is at school, so in about three and a half hours, I'll be on Yahoo. <3
*falls over* I'll be gone in an hour... >_> We can talk later...
Like I said, I like 80s music... Weird Al... Disney?... Haha.
Alexi8945
02-01-2008, 03:49 PM
Disney? o.O The only Disney I listen to is Hunchback of Notre Dame and the Lion King soundtracks. :D
Do you like any kind of metal?
Do you seriously have the Hunchback of Notre Dame soundtrack...? GIMME GIMME GIMME. I love the music from that movie.
I'm not into metal, sadly. I just want something to dance to. *cha cha cha*
Alexi8945
02-01-2008, 04:16 PM
I shall send it to you telepathically!!
Aww...:( Well, I may have some songs you may like, if you want. If you don't, you can just delete it. Or whatever.
If you can burn it on a CD and send it to me, I'll have a listen and see. Just surprise me. I'll send the CD back if you'd like, so you could maybe use it again.
Alexi8945
02-01-2008, 04:23 PM
Sure-o. :D Anything for you. <3
What else from Disney? I have a LOT of soundtracks.
Name them, or a few good ones. All I have is Lion King, and a few mixed CDs.
Alexi8945
02-01-2008, 04:28 PM
Lessee...Pocahontas (sp?) Mulan, some Classics that include the Disneyland Light Show Parade music, which pwns. And that's all I can remember on the spot, as Alexi's memory does not exsist (he ate it).
Anything from Disney rocks my world.
