I'll just create this thread for now. We can build on it, deciding rules, prizes, etc. Anyway:

Who wants to be a contestant?

Who wants to be a judge?

Who wants to submit ideas:
-Rounds, how many, and what we do in them
-Prizes, I can do quite a few
-etc.

I think we should just start out making sprites for 5th Gen and then after we're done, go from there. Sprites for the challenge would be from Blaztro's Dex. [It's on page 6 of the 5th Gen thread] Just give the Pokemon you want us contestants to complete, give us, say, a 5-day time limit, and then give us the description in his Dex. [type, species, etc.]

Round 1: New Pokemon (must have little resemblance to an existing one)
Round 2: Morphs and Recolors
Round 3: Freestyle, create anything

Prizes:
1st, 2nd, 3rd. New User Name

1st, 2nd. -New User Nickname Color, Font, Effect
1st. Special Sig

Actually this was kinda blaztro's, but about 2-3 months ago I had this idea and got it started, but it died.

Just so you know, as it is my dex they'll be working with, I think there should be short descriptions with each pokemon. I could PM 9 or so descs. to you each round, SR.

Oh, yeah, I think I should be a judge since it seems they're working with my pokedex. I would be able to better tell how accurate each sprite is for that category.

Sure, you can be a judge. Which of these rounds should be used:
-Match the Description - Blaxtro gives a description
-Morphs and Recolors
-New Pokemon
-Freestyle
-Masterpieces - Create something like a banner

And here are quite a few prizes I could give:
-Larger Avy
-Larger Profile Pic
-Larger Sig Pic
-HTML Sig (I'd have to create it)
-1-Point Minor Infraction Removal Card
-Custom User Title
-Custom Username
-Extra Attachment Size
-Extra PM Storage

I'll be a judge and round maker (Not think of the actual round like fusion round, but think of what you need to fuse) if possible. All those are good rounds, and I can think of some challenging things to do for some of those. Also, I suggest an overworld round because it is hard to do.

Day 1: Round Starts, judges tell contestants what to make, or let the cont. choose (freestyle is freestyle).
Day 2-4: Contestants Make Them and Post them
Day 5: Judges Judge

Okay, tutorial comin' at cha'!

1. Get you sprites. tSR (http://www.spriters-resource.com/) has all you need but if you want specifics:

2. Decide what you want make. For example, I liked the team aqua leader's bandana, so I put his sprites to the side. I figured steven (I think, can't even tell anymore.) would be an easy base to use so I put him aside.

3. Taking it apart: First, zoom in on the 2 lines of sprites. I erased everything but the team aqua leader's bandana and then got rid of the writing on it so I could make it different. I then recolored it. (Many different colors, I couldn't decide!)

4. Then I put it on steven's head. Now at this point, you would have to resize it to fit the head if it were hair or even a hat or bandana if it looks stupid. Basicly just either erase 1 line going up of pixels and put it back together or add an identical line of pixels. Then I gave Steven a hair cut by deleting a few pixels. After all this I put an M on the bandana and presto!

5. As an added effect, I messed with the body to make custom clothes. This is hard to do and you will notice mine aren't that great.

I imagine you might need pictures. I would have put some, but I did this guy months ago. I can show some pictures if you want though for each step but they won't be as I made this guy. Here is the finished product.
