// Now completely re-edited and improved!

Greetings. I, Kaboom, have decided to write my autobiography. I hope you enjoy reading it and might learn a thing or two!
The story begins on the island of Crindo.
The excitement begins very soon after I was born, so I'm starting from:

Scene 1-1: The Beginning

The first few seconds of my life passed like those of any other Torchic: I hatched from an egg. My mother, Kablam, was standing beside me, and my father, Kervlam, was beside her. They looked happy but, at the same time, nervous. I looked around and saw that we were in a cave. Outside was a desert land, where a sandstorm was raging.

Then those few normal seconds were over. All the grains of sand swirling in the storm fell as one. The wind driving them stilled instantly. Eerie shadows moved over the landscape.

Kervlam seemed shocked. "It cannot be," he said. "How could they have located us? And so quickly!"

A dark blob flew in through the entrance. It landed just two paces from me and fuzzed out. My mother grabbed me and concealed me behind some rocks. I didn't understand what was going on, but my instincts told me it was dangerous.

More of the blobs flew into the cave, but my parents hugged the wall and none of them hit. A few moments passed and then a Pokémon made entirely of gas except for two fangs whooshed into the cavern. My father blasted it with fire from his wrists and it blew up. The two fangs fell to the floor and disappeared.

A sinister wind blew in the cave. Kablam and Kervlam adopted fighting stances.

"It's been lovely knowing you," said Kablam.
"We can do this. We must to save our son," responded Kervlam. He sounded a lot more confident than his shaking hands suggested.

The wind increased. Chaos erupted: hundreds of Pokémon swarmed into the cave. Amongst them were more of the gassy ones, some bipedal clawed ones, some quadrupeds with rings and some black birds. My parents united power to create a stupendously hot fire wall and project it forwards. The gas Pokémon disappeared and the bipeds clutched their hearts as they fell, but the others continued onwards. As soon as they came in range, my parents struck them with blazing fists.

Just when they were about to win through impossible odds, a swarm of bat Pokémon flew into the cave. They flitted around the ceiling and emitted a mind-numbing sound. It was too much for me, and I wiped out.

Scene 1-2: The Journey

When I awoke, I was alone in the cave. The sandstorm was raging once more. There was no sign of Kablam or Kervlam anywhere. The only trace to be found was a few red feathers. I decided to have some proper sleep, rather than being knocked out.

Nothing had changed when I woke up again. The sandstorm had calmed a bit, so I decided to take a look outside. The first thing I saw was my parents, chained to a large boulder. Kablam was dead, and Kervlam was bleeding copiously from a wound on his chest.
"My son!" he cried, "You're safe. Thank Moltres for that!" He groaned in pain. "Your name shall be Kaboom. It is a noble name. Bear it with pride.
"Now, Kaboom, it's only a matter of time before they learn of your existence, and when they do, they'll come for you. You must flee! It's too late for us now. Go north. Follow the road and you will come to a city. Find Braise and tell her who you are. She's a...a..." He didn't get a chance to finish: the sparks around his wrists faded and went out. He was dead, too.

I was depressed. I was just a hatchling and both my parents were dead. But I knew I had to go. My parents were overwhelmed by the enemy's power, and I didn't even know how to breathe fire yet! I wouldn't stand a chance if I stayed. I set off north just as the sun set, casting colourful lights upon the few clouds in the sky. As beautiful as it was, it did nothing to relieve my sadness. The sandstorm turned into a gentle caress, but the wind blew sand in my face, making headway difficult.

I finally found the road. It was totally invisible under the sand, but I knew it was there when my claws hit rock. The road turned northeast, so I followed it as the last rays of sunlight disappeared. It was completely dark, so I had only my claws to find out whether I was still on the road. To make things worse, the sandstorm intensified once more.

I lost track of time stumbling in the darkness. The only way I could know how long I'd been walking was judging by the ache in my legs. It was unbearable, but fear drove me onwards. Fortunately, the sandstorm calmed once more.

The sun rose to find me exhaustedly continuing onwards. When I could give no more, I flopped onto a pile of sand.
"Hoi! Do you mind?" said he pile. It stood up and faced me.
"I'm sorry!" I exclaimed, "I thought you were a pile of sand!"
"Ah, it's not the first time. I'm Hippopotas. And you are?"
"I'm Torchic," I responded, deciding to keep my true name to myself.
"I see. So, Torchic, where are you bound? You look like you've been walking for hours."
"I have been walking for hours. I'm going to the city at the end of this road."
"Goodness, that's far! You'll be going for another five hours at that pace. Let me give you a ride. Your legs could do with it."
"Oh, thank you! Thank you! Thankyouthankyouthankyou! I thought I'd never make it!"
I used the last of my energy to climb onto Hippopotas's back and fell asleep as it set off at a trot.

This story is like a breath of fresh air in this stuffy fanfiction forum we have right now. Honestly, is seems to me that you have impeccable spelling and a great, adventurous plot going here. Wonderful. I wonder what the little Torchic will stumble into next.

However, I do have to wonder how a newly-born Torchic can see all these things and manage to walk. Newly born babies cannot even process full thoughts, yet this Torchic can do it all. That's the only thing I see odd in your plot.

Simply put, Pokémon aren't humans.

Scene 1-3: Entering Janucity

Hippopotas woke me when we were fifty paces from the entrance to the city. It explained how it tended to avoid cities on principle, so I would have to go in alone. We parted company and Hippopotas returned to the desert.
At the entrance to the city was a sign:

Welcome to Janucity!
Note to humans: you are now entering a protected Pokémon city.

Pokémon were just getting active. Shops opened as the clock tower chimed eight times. In the distance, I could see another of the bipedal Pokémon that had attacked in the cave. It was carrying a bag and looking around furtively. Then all of a sudden it jumped a metre into the air and fled, hotly pursued by a magnificent-looking Pokémon. The pursuer was orange, on four legs and possessed many tails streaming behind it.

I looked around at the shops. They sold all kinds of items. A particularly pleasant smell was emanating from a shop that sold berries. Another shop was selling items for those setting out on an adventure.

Overwhelmed by the enormity of the city, I had momentarily forgotten what I was there for. I approached the nearest Pokémon I could find - a white and purple rat, as it happened.

"Excuse me," I asked, "Do you know where I might find a Pokémon named Braise?"
"Errm... no. Sorry. She's the Guardian of this city, but I've no idea where she lives. You should try the Pelipper Post Office, down there. They should be able to help you."
"OK. Thanks."
"No problem."

I continued down the road. The Post Office was a large building, entirely painted blue. Inside was a bustle of activity. Pelipper were flying from one place to another sorting letters of all kinds into piles. Another Pelipper entered through a hole in the roof, landed beside a pile, put the pile in its bill and flew off again. Right at the back was a counter behind which were perched three more Pelipper. I went to one of them.
"Hi, there, kiddo," it said, "Can I help you?"
"Yes. I'd like to know where a Pokémon named Braise lives, please."
"That's easy. Up the hill and in the cave."
"Thanks a lot."
"Will that be all?"
"Yes, thank you. Good bye."
"See ya."

I exited the Post Office and proceeded towards the hill. It was just outside the eastern edge of the city. The cave entrance was right at the top. I entered nervously.

Scene 1-4: Meeting Braise

"Who goes there?" boomed a voice.
I jumped, tried to locate the source of the sound and got thoroughly confused by the reverberations.
Clearly, the Pokémon who had said these words could see me because it continued in a less aggressive voice, "What do you want, Torchic?"
"I... I'm looking for Braise..."
"Well, why didn't you say so in the first place?" The Pokémon I had seen pursuing the one with the bag earlier stepped out from a pile of rocks. "I am Braise."

I was flabbergasted by the beauty and elegance of Braise. Her numerous tails undulated in a stunning manner.

"Now, why don't you tell me who you are?"
"I am Kaboom, the son of Kervlam and Kablam."
Braise remained silent for a moment, staring at me with her vivid red eyes as though probing me.
"I see. And I presume, since you're alone, that they're dead?"
Tears welled up in my eyes. I hadn't thought about them since leaving.
"I'm sorry," said Braise, "I should have realized. Are you hungry?"
"Oh, yes. I haven't eaten since I hatched yesterday afternoon."
"Then, come with me."

She led me down a passageway, deeper into the cave. The place was like a labyrinth, as though the entire hill was excavated with tunnels.

We eventually arrived in a large area with plenty of food in: fruits, berries and meat apparently bought from humans.
"Help yourself," offered Braise, "I'll be back in a moment."
Though I was starving, I only ate two apples and a few Bluk Berries. That's all it took to fill me up.

Braise returned carrying a box on her back. She twisted her head back and lifted it down. She then sat down and invited me to do the same.

"Now, Kaboom, you should know that we are in difficult times. I cannot tell you all about it, partly because you're too young to cope with it, but also because even I don't know all the details.
"Let's start with the basics: who are friends and who are enemies? The boss of the enemy is a Pokémon who had the fortune to be unique, like Moltres and others like it. However, it was shunned by the others because of its diminutive size. In order to prove what it was capable of, it opened the door to the world of darkness. Doing so caused several new species of Pokémon to appear. These species are Sneasel, Weavile, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Murkrow and Honchkrow. Other species were affected, such as Eevee who transformed into Umbreon... sorry, you wanted to ask something?"
"Yes. I don't know all these species. Could you describe them briefly?"
Braise did so, providing a description of their appearance and their type.
"Also," she continued, "there were some species of which a large number of individuals have turned to the Great Evil to sate their hunger for power, namely Zubat, Golbat, Crobat and other Ghost and Poison types.
"And now for friends. Our group is composed of twelve members with your parents as the ringleaders. We are all Fire types, and we are the law keepers in this land. Here, take a look at this photo. This was taken a couple of years back. We're all on it."
The photo had fourteen Pokémon on it, with Kablam and Kervlam in prominent positions. Braise was right beside them.

Just then an explosion shook the cave. Neatly piled boxes of food toppled over, but fortunately the contents remained inside. I was thrown off my feet and grabbed one of Braise's tails for support...

Scene 1-5: The Dark World

As I grabbed one of Braise's tails for support, everything went black and Braise disappeared. I suddenly found myself in a totally black, featureless landscape.

A few moments later, red beams of energy swirled in from all directions and condensed into a Braise shape entirely made of flames.

"Kaboom, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!" she said.
"Didn't mean to do what?"
"By grabbing my tail you were subjected to a thousand year curse. I should have warned you, but I never expected something like that to happen. I'm going to get you out of there, but Janucity expects me to help after the explosion. Just look after yourself for a bit, OK? I'll get you out as fast as I can."
Braise faded once more, leaving me alone.

Not exactly alone. A bunch of Sneasel popped out of nowhere and encircled me.
"Hello there, Kaboom," said one of them, clearly the leader, "You've led us a merry chase, you have. As a reward for evading us so long, I'll tell you this: in the Dark World, there are only your enemies!"
They all snickered as they advanced, claws flashing in preparation.
I was terrified: I had no way of defending myself and I had never battled before. But as the Sneasel moved closer, I felt a well of power under my talons. It rose into me and guided me and I breathed powerful fire. It was not orange, as expected, but purple. The Sneasel weren't affected as much as the others had been by Kervlam's fire, but nevertheless they cried out in pain and fled. As soon as they did so, the power left me and I was as defenceless as before.

Braise appeared once more. "I have little time," she said, "It will probably take six hours to get you out of there. Just... don't use the power of the land -"
"I already have, to fend off some Sneasel."
"Oh, for Moltres' sake! That is the power of Darkness. Use it once or twice: fine. But too much and you become a pawn of the Darkness. The power will come to you when it thinks you'll use it, so avoid trouble at all costs. I'll see you later." She vanished again.

Using a small amount of logic, I figured I'd have less chances of needing the power of Darkness if I kept moving. I set off in a random direction and didn't stop.

After half an hour of walking, a pair of Zubat flew over me. Fortunately, as they're blind, they didn't notice me. They circled above where I had been and attempted to locate me again. They began to descend and I realized that, due to the featureless nature of the ground, I'd stand out like a beacon. I ran. Luckily, they missed me on the first sweep, giving me a chance to get further away.

On their second sweep they found me and screeched. A horde of Umbreon appeared and chased after me. I was faster, but only just, so they remained fairly close behind me.

After five hours of pursuit, I had to give up. They had more endurance. They encircled me and closed in. Once again, the dark power welled up into me, blinding me to Braise's warning. I used it to blast the Umbreon with fire, but they laughed: they were far stronger than the Sneasel. Realizing there was only one way out, I summoned more power. Everything turned white as I unleashed it and I was suddenly back in Braise's cave. Braise had just been sent flying by the beam of Dark power.
"I'm sorry!" I said as she got up, "I was defending myself from a bunch of Umbreon."
"It's all right. I suppose it's what I deserve for sending you to the Dark World."
We laughed together and Braise led me back to the main chamber.

Two more chapters here - I couldn't type up yesterday's one!

Scene 1-6: Skarmory

When we arrived in the main chamber, we sat once more.
"I must say, you've impressed me, Kaboom." said Braise. "You are the only Pokémon ever to have been to the Dark World for six hours and returned unconsumed by the Darkness, and that was with Sneasel and Umbreon chasing you. And yet, you are only a day old. Your parents' power flows through you. That much is clear. I daresay you'll end up the new Hero of Fire and leader of our group! But first, we must find out about the current state of affairs in other towns. I sent Skarmory, our spy, to check it out. She should be back soon."

We waited a while, and then the sky flashed black, like the opposite of a lightning bolt. A Pokémon screamed. This Pokémon shot through the entrance to the cave in a blur of silver and smashed into the back wall. The dust cleared to reveal an squashed iron-clad bird.
"Ow," it said.
"Are you all right, Skarmory?" asked Braise.
"Of course I am - NOT! I was hit by a Dark Thunder attack. I think I dented my wing... It hurts."
"Let me take care of that."
Braise released a gentle stream of fire from her mouth. It softened Skarmory's top metal wing blade as she eased it back to its proper shape. Skarmory got up and ruffled her wing.
"It hurts a lot, but I'll survive. Thanks."
"Never mind that. Tell us what you discovered."
"Yes. Right. Let's see. The group has more or less disbanded after the loss of our leaders. They are continuing activity in their own city, but the bonds between them are weak or nonexistant."
"Hmm... Right. I need to think this over. Kaboom, you can find somewhere to sleep down there." She indicated the tunnel. "Just turn left at every opportunity. Skarmory, you should rest too. See you tomorrow."

Skarmory and I entered the room we had been told of. I lay down, but Skarmory remained standing. She eyed me with interest.
"So," she said. "You're the son of Kervlam and Kablam, are you?"
"Yes, I am."
"They were formidable Blaziken. I suppose you don't know much about them. They once becalmed the rage of Kyogre, you know."
"What's a Kyogre?"
"Kyogre, according to legend, was the Pokémon who created the sea. It rules over it and controls it. Its enemy, Groudon, created the earth and the continents. They battled like... like... well, like Zangoose and Seviper, you know? They saw each other and attacked a second later.
"Anyway, Groudon and Kyogre took to sleep after a particularly fierce battle many centuries ago to regain strength. A decade ago, Kyogre awoke and was enraged to see the land, so it summoned enormous rain clouds and attempted to flood the planet. Your parents, though weak against the Water type, battled Kyogre, and after a tremendous battle their combined power ultimately restrained the legendary beast."
"What became of Kyogre?"
"It requested peace. It acknowledged the presence of land and swore to never again attempt to flood it. It is rumoured that Kyogre even formed friendship with your parents, and carried them to Crindo, among other places, over the sea."
"Wow! That's fantastic! What else did they do?"

Skarmory recounted how my parents had vanquished a human who was attempting to summon the legendary Pokémon of space and time to remake the world. She told how they were considered gods by humans and Pokémon alike, such was their power.

"And... how did they die? I mean, they were so powerful..."
"Well, I don't know the whole story. It was something along the lines of trickery and deceit, for the most part from the Great Evil itself. They scarecely survived an ambush, Kablam carrying you as an egg. They fled into the desert, and presumably their actions were predicted. Fortunately for you, the squad that had been sent in did not know of you, otherwise we wouldn't be talking now."

We remained silent for a moment, and then Skarmory said, "All this talking's made me tired. I think we should sleep now. See you tomorrow." She then fell asleep while remaining standing up. I went to sleep too.

Scene 1-7: The Mission

When I awoke, I saw that Skarmory had already returned topside, so I followed. She and Braise were chatting as I entered the main room. Braise turned to me.
"Good morning, Kaboom," she said, "I hope you slept well?"
"Yes, thank you. You?"
"Not too bad. Anyway, I was just telling Skarmory what I have decided: we need to reform the group. However, Skarmory cannot fly for a long time while her wing recovers, and I'm needed here. That kind of leaves you alone to do it."
"Me?"
"Yes. Only you can do this. Your first destination is a little ways down the north road, Route 801. You should go after breakfast. Of course, you are powerless in the real world, but fortunately it's only an hour's walk there. I cannot train you, but the next town has a dojo where you can learn the basics of battling. Now, let's have breakfast."

After breakfast, I began the journey out of Janucity, followed by the gazes of Braise and Skarmory, high up at the top of the hill.

Barely ten seconds after leaving the town, a Pokémon ran straight into my back: THUD!
"What the..." he said, "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't see you. Who are you?"
"I'm Torchic," I replied, once again maintaining anonymity.
"Right. I'm Treecko. Are you going to the next town?"
"Yup. You?"
"Yeah, I need to train at this 'dojo' I've been told about. Do you mind if we go together?"
"No, not at all."
"Thanks. So, where are you from?"
"The Desert, down south."
"I see. I was born in Janucity, but my parents came from the Forest of Time. Apparenly it's the place where nature is more beautiful than anywhere else. I intend to go there, but I'm only a few weeks old. What are you planning?"
"I'm going to the dojo, too. I'm a day and a half old, and I need to learn how to battle."
"OK. Shall we go?"
We walked on together. The trip was uneventful, except at one point I thought I saw a fleeting movement in the sky, but there was nothing there a moment later.

There is now a feedback facility on my site (http://www.adamhaskell.net/en/kaboom/). Please let me know what you think about these new chapters because I'm getting the impression I'm typing for nothing!

Scene 1-8: The Dojo

Treecko became somewhat excited at the sight of our destination.
"Torchic, look! Look! It's huge! Look how big it is!"
It was easily twice the size of Janucity. As we arrived we found a sign similar to the one at Janucity, informing us that we had arrived at Februcity.

This time, the Pokémon I asked for directions was a black and blue four-legged one. It was surprised to see us and flashed suddenly, momentarily blinding us. After apologies were exchanged, it guided us to the dojo.

We entered. The main room was empty, save for a reception desk. Many doors were scattered around the walls. Behind the desk was a short, fat-looking yellow Pokémon. He greeted us.
"Welcome to the dojo! Are you here for the beginner's training course?"
"Indeed we are," I replied.
"All righty. Dad!" he called.
"Yeah?" boomed a deep voice from a door to the side of the desk.
"I've got two beginners here!"
"Well, send them through."
We were shown through the door.

"Welcome," said the Pokémon therein, "My name is Hariyama. I founded this dojo. So, you want to fight, eh?"
"Yes."
"Right. You, Treecko, I think Sceptile's free. He'll take care of you. But Torchic... well, we don't have a Fire Master yet. What to do... I think your best bet is to find Megaburn, Guardian in this city. You should find him patrolling somewhere."
Leaving Treecko to begin his training, I set out to search for Megaburn.

Oooohh!! Awesome job! I can't wait for the next chapter! You write like a grammar teacher. Amazing! I don't think we've ever had a fan-fic with this much grammar knowledge incorporated.

And you don't use baby words such as, "Ninetales jumped over the other Pokemon. She used Flamethrower."

You would much rather say something like, "Ninetales leaped over her opponent, landing a few feet away and shooting a powerful jet of flames at the other Pokemon." I admire that. Keep up the good work!! =]

Scene 1-9: Megaburn

It was strangely quiet in Februcity, that is to say there was absolutely no one out. There wasn't even the slightest breeze. As I was about to round a corner, I had an ominous feeling and stopped. I peeped around the corner and saw six Murkrow and a Honchkrow encircling a monkey-like Fire type Pokémon.
"Look, I'm sorry to disappoint you," said the Fire type, "but I have seen no Torchic for over ten years."
The Murkrow attacked with their beaks. After a short while the Honchkrow spoke.
"Enough. I'm giving you one final chance. Where is the Torchic named Kaboom?"
The monkey saw me. He looked up at Honchkrow.
"Very well. He left for Julicity and hour ago."
"Thank you."
The Dark birds flew off.
"My pleasure," muttered the monkey with a grin. He looked back at me and said, "I take it you are Kaboom."
"Yes, I am."
"I am Megaburn. Come with me."

He led me to the outskirts of the city. There was a small wood, which we entered. Precisely in the center was a large cabin. Megaburn led me inside.

"As you saw, the Dark Pokémon are already on your tail. You definitely need to learn how to battle, and fast. Now, Braise informed me last night that you once entered the Dark world, correct?"
"Yes."
"Well, inside, you were able to cast Dark fire. Real fire is made in exactly the same way, but without the Dark power. Try it on me now. Do not worry, I cannot be harmed by fire."

I tried to remember how the Darkness had guided me and attempted to repeat the procedure.
Nothing happened.
I tried again.
Still nothing, but I felt a little extra warmth inside me.
I put all my willpower into the third attempt and this time a few embers shot out at Megaburn, who absorbed them easily.

"Good. Now, you need to try to get a constant jet. To do that, you need to focus. If you compress your flame sac at the moment you blow, fire should stream."

It took five attempts to stream fire. The first two failed completely, the next two gave sparks, and the fifth prevailed. Again, Megaburn absorbed it easily.

"Excellent. There is nothing more I can teach you for now. When you evolve into a Combusken, you can return to me for a grounding in fighting moves. For now, use your fire and your claws."
"How do I get stronger?"
"Well, the fastest way is to battle other Pokémon. There are plenty of Pokémon journeying on Route 802, so you're sure to come across some who will battle. Just remember to keep your identity hidden. I wouldn't be surprised if the Dark Pokémon have put a reward out for your capture."

Route 802 was to the east of Februcity. I bade Megaburn farewell and began the journey to the next city.

Treecko's training in the dojo, remember?

Scene 1-10: My First Battle

As I wandered down Route 802, I saw other Pokémon going the other way. Most of them were Grass or Normal types.

After five hours walking I came to a human-built building. The text on the sign said that it was a place where Pokémon could recover from adventures. Apparently it was called a "Pokémon Centre". I decided to enter.

Inside was similar to to the entrance at the dojo. Behind the reception were two human females and a Pokémon. The humans seemed pleased to see me.
"Ooh, look at that cute little Torchic!" said one.
"I know. Chansey, will you see to it?"
The Chansey nodded and came over.
"Hello, Torchic," she said, "This is your first time here, isn't it?"
"Yes."
Chansey explained briefly how Pokémon Centres worked. She also gave me a waistband-type item, telling me that it would help recover from fainting. After that she asked if I would like to rest. I did, so I took a quick nap.

When I awoke, it was evening. The Pokémon Centre provided a free meal and I resumed my travels.

Soon, a rather proud-looking Pokémon came marching the other way. He called to me.
"Hey, you there! Would you like to battle?"
"You think you can beat me?"
This made him hesitate for a second. "Yeah, easy."
"Fine. I shall battle. What is your name?"
"I am Charmander. And you?"
"My name is Torchic."
"Now that the formalities are over, shall we start?"
"Very well."

I watched Charmander, waiting for him to make a move. We circled each other for a minute, then he ran at me with claws at the ready. I rolled to one side and scratched him with my talons.
"Owww... Think you're fast, do you? Take this!"
He moved so fast he became a blur. I barely had time to dodge his slashes. I stepped back and blasted fire. Charmander flew five metres away and landed in a heap. His tail-flame dimmed. He struggled to get up and was out of breath.
"OK, you win," he gasped. He flopped on the ground, faint.

Victorious, I continued my journey.

Okay, here we go with another two chapters:

Scene 1-11: Marsh Woods

Route 802 continued into a wood. The path wound and weaved between areas of bog. Various insect cries could be heard from all directions. It was getting dark. The road went around a big tree and I heard human voices.
"Look, it's quite simple," said one, "You hand over the research papers and I leave you alone."
"But if I lose these papers, my job goes with them."
"Not my problem. If I don't get the papers, my job will be gone, and I value mine over yours. Hand them over."

I edged around the tree. One of the men was dressed in a green suit and was holding a briefcase. The other had ridiculous clothing and his hair was dyed sky-blue. The green one saw me.
"Oh, Torchic, please help! I need to get rid of this man."
Now, I wasn't particularly inclined to get involved in other people's business, but the other man said, "If you think getting a wild weakling to help will save you, you're sadly mistaken."
I don't take insults lightly. I went over and stood between them, staring straight into the blue man's eyes.
"Big mistake, Shorty. My Poochyena will put you down in a second." Said Poochyena emerged from behind the man. The battle commenced.

"All right, Poochy, defeat the Torchic. And when I say 'defeat the Torchic', I mean KO it viciously and painfully!"
The Poochyena lunged forward, but I dodged aside. I blasted fire - at least that was the plan: the fire didn't come out.
My adversary laughed. "Look at you! You can't even breathe fire! Call yourself a Torchic?" He lunged again and missed once more. Again my fire failed, but I singed his tail with the embers.
He yelped and bolted at me again. This time his teeth closed around my beak and I ended up lying on the ground.
"That's it, Poochy! Bite it!" called the man.
However, being on my back meant I could use my talons. I scratched Poochyena's belly repeatedly, gouging deep cuts. He yelped again and leaped off. I stood and this time fire flooded out of me, draining all of Poochyena's energy. He fainted.

"Graah! That's cheating!" cried the blue man, "You don't cross Team Aero and get away with it. I'm going to report to the boss. I'll be kicked out of the Team for this but at least you won't go unpunished." He picked up the heap that was Poochyena and ran off.

The man in green was overjoyed. "Oh, thank you, Torchic, you saved me! I could never thank you enough. If they'd got their hands on these papers, who knows what would have happened!"
By this time I'd got bored of the man and continued through the woods.

Scene 1-12: Useless Magmar

Directly after Marsh Woods was Marcity. It was a square city built at the bottom of a hill, upon which rested a castle with a flag bearing a fire emblem. No need for directions this time.

As I meandered through the winding roads, I saw another Pokémon. This Pokémon walked into a bar and knocked itself out. I rolled my eyes. Why didn't it look where it was going?

I reached the bottom of the hill and began to ascend. When I arrived at the wall of the castle I called to the Pokémon on the ramparts.
"Who are you?" he called back.
"I'm Torchic."
"And I'm Magmar, now tell me your real name."
"...My name is Kaboom. I am the son of Kervlam and Kablam. I seek to speak with your master."
".........What did you say your name was?"
"Kaboom."
"And you're the son of -"
"Kervlam and Kablam, yes."
".........Pull the other one!"
"I am."
"Prove it!"
"......How am I supposed to do that?"
"Well, I dunno. Get the humans to do a DNA test."
"What is a DNA test?"
"Errm... well it means they compare you to Kervlam and Kablam to see if they are your parents."
"They're dead!"
"Oh."
"Hey," said another Magmar, appearing beside the first one, "Why don't we just ask Espeon?"
"'Cos I dunno where she is."
"...Oh yeah, she's on holiday."
"Well, I suppose we could battle him."
"But we might cause lasting physical damage to him."
I gave up and searched for a way in. I went to the other side of the castle and found the portcullis wide open. At that moment, the two Magmar reached a decision, looked down and saw I had gone.
"'E's buggered off!" said one.
"So 'e has," said the other.
I rolled my eyes again and approached the central building.

Scene 1-13: Explod-R

"Enter!" came the reply as I tapped on the door. I obeyed.
"Ah, so you'll be Kaboom, will you? I heard the conversation. My sons really need reeducating on guarding. But where are my manners? My name is Explod-R, Lord of Marcity, fifth in precedence within the group, and world champion fireball shot putter. I already know your name. Do you have any achievements?"
"Not yet."
"Well, later on, you can try out the Marcity Contests. If you win, you can proudly declare it as part of your title. But enough of that! Tell me about yourself."

I recounted everything that had happened to me. Explod-R listened with interest. When I finished, he was astounded.
"You've done all that and you're only a few days old! When I was that age, I had done nothing except play with the others. I expect you're tired after all that. Come, I'll show you to a room."

He took me upstairs and provided me with a supreme room. I lay on the bed and fell contentedly to sleep.

I awoke at mid-morning, fully refreshed. I looked around at the room I had been given. All around the walls were tapestries depicting Pokémon engaged in fierce battles. Beneath each one was the names of the combatants. Each picture was perfectly lifelike, each was signed "Smeargle". My heart skipped a beat as my eyes passed over an image of my parents locked in an epic battle against Kyogre. Though dwarfed by the blue beast, they were clearly much more agile. Kablam was dodging a powerful blast of water as Kervlam was preparing to beam fire at Kyogre. Smeargle appeared to have taken some artistic liberties, for my father was hovering a few metres in the air.

There was a knock at the door, then it opened. Behind it was one of the two Magmar from the previous day, carrying a tray laden with breakfast.
"Breakfast service," said the Magmar grumpily. He entered, placed the tray on the table and looked at me.
"You!" he exclaimed, "Because of you, I've been demoted! My honour is in ruins, all because of you! I'm gonna go along with yesterday's suggestion! Prepare to battle!"

He fired a ball of flame... at the spot where I had been two seconds previously. I leaped onto the bed and used it as a trampoline to headbutt Magmar from behind at full force. He crashed to the ground and I stood on him. He struggled to get up.
"Give up now," I said firmly, "or I'll claw your back!"
He didn't give up. He launched himself up and squashed me against the wall, then he slammed me to the floor and started to crush me. I couldn't breather. I couldn't do anything.

Then a fireball exploded on Magmar's back and he fell.
"You, my puny friend, are FIRED!" shouted Explod-R. He was standing in the doorway and his cannon arm was smoking. "Are you all right, Kaboom?"
"I will be. Thanks for the help."
"I heard the crash and figured there was trouble. At least I won't have to reeducate him. After breakfast, come downstairs, OK?"
He left again, dragging the unconscious Magmar behind him.

Right- these two chapters were supposed to be posted separately to maintain suspence, but I may not get the chance to post again for a week, and that seems like too long, so here goes:

Scene 1-14: Marcity Contests

The Contest Hall occupied all of the space within the castle besides Explod-R's home. The building was arranged into sections. I decided to try out the Battle challenge. It was a knockout championship with 32 contestants.

ROUND 1: TORCHIC Vs SCYTHER
Yup, a Grass type. He was clearly nervous as the bell rang. I instantly gave him a good reason to be worried by shooting a fireball, which caught his left wing. He beat it until the flames went out, and then moved so fast he disappeared. Anticipating Scyther's strategy, I whirled around and shot flames in all directions. Sure enough, he was behind me. His entire body caught fire. He collapsed, the bell rang three times and a squad of Water Pokémon charged into the ring to help put the fire out.

ROUND 2: TORCHIC Vs GLACEON
Ice type this time, only I hadn't anticipated her swiftness. The bell hadn't even finished ringing when I was blasted with frigid air and frozen solid. My high body temperature began to thaw me out, so Glaceon piled more layers on with an icy beam. Combined, this meant that I was imprisoned in a cage of ice. I gathered power and unleashed it upon the ice. The cage exploded and the heatwave continued, melting the beam of ice that was still being fired and stunning Glaceon. By unspoken agreement, we both stopped attacking to recover. I attempted a surprise attack by shooting a quick fireball, but it failed. Glaceon fired another Ice Beam, which I dodged. As she took aim once more, we both fired at the same time. The red beam collided with the blue and gradually engulfed it, leaving a pool of water that was quickly evaporated. Glaceon ceased her attack and dodged aside to avoid the flames. "Stop!" she called, "I give in. You are too powerful." She left the ring amidst great applause from the crowd.

QUARTER FINAL: TORCHIC Vs SNOVER
My opponent gave up the moment he set eyes on me, terrified by my fire. The crowd jeered as he fled from the ring.

SEMI FINAL: TORCHIC Vs TREECKO
Indeed, Treecko from Janucity had done much training at the dojo in Februcity and was out to prove it. The bell rang and Treecko launched himself into the air to stick on the ceiling. From there he dodged my flames with ease, but I evaded his razor-sharp leaves just as easily. He therefore released the ceiling and dived at me. Even falling through the air he was untouchable. I rolled aside at the last moment and he smashed nito the floor, making him an easy target for a fireball. The Water squad entered once more and Treecko was carried out.

I prepared myself for the final battle. My opponent, apparently, had smashed through its opponents in a record time.

Scene 1-15: The Final

FINAL ROUND: TORCHIC Vs GENGAR
Oh, dear. A Darkling. Now I understood why I had only fought Grass and Ice types: it was rigged for me to fight Gengar.
The bell rang. Gengar leered and waved his arms. Dark energy flashed around them. Gengar cried out "Dark Beam!" and the energy shot at me, but I evaded the attack. The beam hit one of the Water squad and it vanished. "Oh, well," said Gengar, "That'll just be one more for the Dark World." He prepared another Dark Beam, so I shot a fireball at him. He teleported behind me just before firing the beam and it hit.

Everything went black and I was in the Dark World once more. I turned to face Gengar, whio had followed me through. He s******ed and I noticed his shadow was that of a monstrous being. Gengar glowed purple and fired a Death Beam, which I dodged.
"Huh?" sadi Gengar, "How did you dodge that?" He attacked with a succession of Dark Blast Waves. While I was dodging, I summoned Dark power - the only weapon I had in this world - and launched a Dark Flamethrower attack. Gengar became surrounded by Dark fire.
"Im... Impossible!" he exclaimed. "This CANNOT BE!"
He screamed as he began to disintegrate. When there was nothing left of him, I banished the Dark power from my being.

A moment later everything went white again and I found myself back in the real world. Sitting besite me was a green Pokémon.
"Kaboom," she said, "I am Espeon."
I got up and noticed that the room was empty save for us.
"I have just returned you from the Dark World. I am amazed by the way you took on that Gengar. However, the seed of Darkness now rests in your heart. It is essential that you purify it."
"How?"
"Let me into your mind. Empty all thoughts from it. It will be discomforting, but much better than being consumed by the Darkness."
I relaxed and Espeon began. It was extremely strange, having someone else in my mind, but I trusted her and after a while she retreated agin.
"The Darkness is gone. Avoid the Dark World at all costs. Now, I originally came to you to ask that you make haste to the other cities, for evil looms where it should not. Come with me. I sall aid you on your way."
She led me out of the now deserted Contest Hall.

Scene 1-16: Information

Espeon's house was absolutely perfect. Every single brick was positioned such that you couldn't fit a knife blade between them. There was no cement, but the bricks held some sort of power that kept them together.
As I passed through the doorway I felt a light resistance, and once I had passed through the air felt somehow different.
"This house is flowing with psychic power," explained Espeon. "That's what you can feel. It is directly connected to the Psychic Warp, from where all Psychic types get their power."
"What's the Warp like?"
"What's it like? Well, it's a point in space. The tiniest point where logic ceases to exist. Through it, we can do anything, but it's also dangerous: those who attempt to use it for something too powerful are sucked into it and cease to exist."
"So what do you mean by this house being connected to the Warp?"
"It's a bubble. A bubble where no Darkness can penetrate. That's another reason why I had to purify you. I have many enemies amongst the Dark, so this is the only place I can sleep in safety, unless I make another bubble, but I'm not going to risk it because it is just on the border of my power to do so."

She began to assemble containers full of liquids, labelled Potion, Super Potion, Max Ether and Max Elixir, along with various Berries and some apples, and made a pile in the middle of the room.
"What exactly is the Dark World?" I asked as she was doing this.
"If you ask a passer-by, you'd be told that the Great Evil created it on its hunt for power, but I have two ways of disproving it."
"What are they?"
"You know how Braise's curse sends those who grab one of her tails to the Dark World? Well she cursed some people before the rise of the Great Evil. The other reason a bit more complicated. First you need to know the true story of the formation of the Dark World.
"Many thousands of millions of years ago, the planet was hit by a colossal rock from space. The planet split in two across the Thirteenth Dimension. The result was that this 'side' contained all the good and the other the evil. Then the two mingled when the Great Evil opened the door to the other side of the Dimension and the Darkness is winning for now. That is why you need to regroup the Guardians in each city and ultimately destroy the Darkness."
"At what point do you come into the story?"
"In a similar way that the Darkness transformed Eevee into Umbreon, so the Light turned Eevee into Espeon. There were initially four of each, but the Umbreon bred."
"Four Espeon."
"Yes. I am Esmeralda, spirit of Spring. The others are Rubea, spirit of Summer, Ambra, spirit of Autumn and Saphira, spirit of Winter. We fight the Darkness, but our power is no longer enough."
"But if the Dark World is a copy of this world, but with Darkness instead of Light, how come whenever I've been there it's been featureless?"
"It would seem as though you are protected by the power your parents once possessed. You did not fully enter the Dark World, but stop somewhere towards the end of the path."

She had finished making the pile. The gem on her forehead glowed and the pile transformed into a small bag, which she clipped on my waistband.
"And another thing..." she said, then her gem glowed again and I suddenly felt knowledge unlocking within me. "I have given you the ability to know the name of a Pokémon's species at a glance, which should prove invaluable."
She led me to the door. "Apricity is a fair way away, down Route 803. In recent times it has been deserted. Even the Pokémon Centre is abandoned. Farewell."

I met Explod-R at the start of Route 803.
"Ah, there you are. The Contest was cancelled because of that Gengar, but I thought you should still get your prize. I see you met Esmeralda. That bag she gave you is truly marvellous. You can put anything in it and it will never fill. Furthermore, whatever you need will always be on top. So, your prise: a selection of health drinks. When drunk, they boost your abilities for a short time."
He gave the brown bottles to me and I placed them in the bag.
"Well, I'll be off then. If ever you need it, you can stay in my home."

He returned to the castle and I set off towards Apricity.

Scene 1-17: The Great Evil
Route 803 went in a general northwest direction. As Esmeralda had said, it was deserted. An hour's walk passed and I saw the Pokémon Centre, half destroyed from lack of rennovations.

Just as I passed the Pokémon Centre, I was ambushed: out of nowhere a dozen Umbreon appeared around me, but they didn't attack, they just stopped me from progressing. A few moments later a tall, black and blue Pokémon appeared. The Umbreon turned to it and chanted "All hail Lucario!"

Lucario approached and looked me over.
"Interesting," it said, "You look no different from any other Torchic, and yet," it turned to the Umbreon, "are more powerful than my Umbreon in the Dark World?"
"Not quite the Dark World, Master, but just on the border."
"Even so, this is one powerful Torchic. It seems as though I shall have to deal with him myself. It has a certain nostalgia to it. Return to base, I'll be with you shortly."
The Umbreon disappeared. I observed Lucario, trying to determine its type. It still had its back to me. I blinked just as the ground beside me shattered. Lucario had moved so fast that it had fired an attack while I was blinking. It deliberately missed, as though trying to intimidate me. I flung a fireball at it, but again it moved to the side faster than the eye could follow. Then it fired a Dark Blast Wave and I flew a hundred metres before skidding to a halt. I got up and reached into my bag. I pulled out a brown bottle and drank the contents. Everything slowed down except me. Then I realised it was the other way around and I was speeding up. I could see Lucario running towards me, so at the last moment I stepped aside and tripped it up. It fell heavily and I unleashed fire, but Lucario disappeared. I looked around but he was nowhere to be seen.

Then I felt particularly weird. My brain seemed to disconnect from my body. My consciousness floated. When it returned the ground seemed much lower than before. I looked at myself and saw that I had evolved into a Combusken. I continued walking while getting used to the concept of having arms.

As the sun began to sink in the sky, I crossed a bridge over a river and I paused. The river flowed calmly by towards northeast and disappeared from view. No Pokémon were swimming in the river, nor were any plants growing. I moved on.

At evening, I approached Apricity.

Well, that's the editing finished. Now it's time to carry on further in the story.

Scene 1-18: An Entrance Not Quite According To Plan

"Approach" means "get near to," not actually "reach." A small spherical object hit me and I seemed to disintegrate before entering the object.
I was unable to do anything, but I was aware of my surroundings. I got the impression of being put into a bag and carried into Apricity. Bustling activity rendered individual conversations inaudible. Whoever was carrying the bag walked purposefully down several roads and stopped. Then he talked but I couldn't make out what was being said. I was taken out of the bag, in the ball, and thrown. The ball oppened and I rematerialised. I found myself facing a Venusaur, between two humans.
"Combusken, use Flamethrower on the Venusaur!" called the person behind me. Who did he think he was, giving me orders?
On command, the Venusaur propelled his vines forwards to whip me, so I firballed each one. They retreated hastefully.
"That wasn't Flamethrower," said the person, "Come on, Combusken!"
I glared at him reproachfully. The Venusaur, a large, bulky and slow Grass/Poison type did not need a full-scale Flamethrower. I calmly fireballed Venusaur's flower and he cried out inpain as he burned. The other person took another ball object from his pocket and Venusaur disappeared into it. Money was handed over and the second person left.
"OK, Combusken, good job. Now return!" He took his ball out. Realising what was about to happen, I fireballed it, tacked the human, body-slammed him and made my break. Stupid humans.

Apricity was swarming with humans. Every so often I saw a situation like the one I had just been in. Nearly everyone had a Pokémon with them.
Nearby, a cute, little Skitty was standing on a box, next to a sign asking for money, which passers-by provided. I went to her.
"Greetings, Skitty," I said.
"Heelo to you, too."
"Could you please tell me where I might find the Guardian in this city?"
"Certainly. She is down the main road and somewhere in the Pokémon Zone. I'm not sure exactly where, though. You'll have to ask someone there."
Just then a pompously dressed human female appeared.
"Skitty!" she said, "What have I told you about being with other Pokémon? Get away, Combusken!"
"Sorry," apologised Skitty, "she's very bossy. She says other Pokémon might get me dirty. She's quite annoying about it, really."
"Go on!" shouted the woman, "Leave my Skitty alone!"
"You'd better go. Sorry again!"
I left, totally perplexed. What did she mean by "my Skitty"?

The Pokémon Zone, apparently, was strictly forbidden to humans. I asked a Squirtle for directions and also asked why Route 803 had been deserted, including the river.
"It's not been used for years," came the explanation, "The Great Evil attacked the Heroes of Fire there and the battle struck fear into everyone, human and Pokémon alike. Since then it hasn't been used."
Well, that explained Lucario's nostalgia about fighting me. I approached the Guardian's house and reached it this time.

More? OK, here's the next...

Scene 1-19: Flammipes

That was her name. She explained that it meant "fast as the flame" in an ancient language. Things had certainly gone very fast when she had opened the door. She had ushered me inside and served up a succulent meal, during which she listened with great interest to my story, up to my arrival at Apricity.
"What I still don't get," I finished, "is what Pokémon are doing associating so closely with humans, obeying their every command. And what those ball things are."
"It was a red and white one, yes?"
"Aye."
"That was a Poké Ball. It's a device invented by humans which is supposed to tame wild Pokémon. Usually friendship develops between Pokémon and human, and they battle together, the human doing the strategy, the Pokémon doing the attacks."
"Well, the one that captured me was a bit overenthusiastic. He wanted me to Flamethrower a Venusaur."
"What did you do?"
"A fireball, then I forcefully left the human behind."
"Hmm. Don't go attacking too many humans. They don't tend to like it, and they aren't as resistant as Pokémon."
"I went easy on him... I think."
She laughed.

Just then a red light began to flash on the map of the city on the wall. Flammipes leapt up.
"The Apricity Research Centre is being attacked!" she said, "I have to go. Stay here."
"I want to come, too."
"Well, all right. Climb on."

I clambered on to her back and she took off through the doorway and down the roads at an astounding speed. She leaped over any Pokémon or human in her way. Her name was well-deserved.

You still want more? Cripes. Good thing I've got plenty of ammo to throw at you!

Scene 1-20: Attack on the Apricity Research Centre

We soon arrived at the ARC. It was a three-storey building. The doors slid open before us. I dismounted and we entered.

Inside, about fifty humans from Team Aero were gathered. They saw us and grabbed their Poké Balls, releasing Poochyena, Taillow, Spearow and Hoothoot.
"This should be fun," said Flammipes. Her firey mane blazed and she shot fireballs from her mouth. Not many of them hit, but those that did KO-ed the target in one shot.
I went for a more acrobatic approach: I leaped around shooting fire in all possible directions. This tactic was more accurate, but less powerful.
All in all it took a good twenty minutes to wipe the floor with them. The Team Aero grunts retrieved their fallen Pokémon and hastily fled.

"Proceeding to next level," said Flammipes as we walked up the stairs.
The second floor was a corridor lined with offices. At the far end, dehind a set of double doors, were the stairs. The door was guarded.
"Oh, no! Not you! Go, Swellow and Noctowl!"
Swellow entered the battle and shimmered out of view. He pecked me repeatedly. Noctowl hypnotised Flammipes and beat her with his wings. Unable to see the Swellow, I couldn't attack him. Not directly at least...
I tried to concentrate power, ignoring the pain as best I could. I released the energy as a heatwave. Swellow and Noctowl were both overcome by it. I overdid it a little bit and set the guard's scarf on fire. Flammipes woke up.
The guard but the fire out. "Argh!" he cried, "I lost! Think you're smart, do you? Well you're not proceeding. I'll lock this door. The only other key was lost years ago. I'm not the loser any more. Ha, ha, ha!"
Words became actions: we found ourselves facing a door, locked and fireproof, among other things. Passage was impossible.

We searched the offices but not one of them contained a key of any kind, nor any clue as to what Team Aero was up to. Just as we left the final office, the sound of paws could be heard coming upstairs from below. It was a Luxray.
"Thought you needed a hand," she said as she dropped the key she was carrying on the floor. It was the one we needed. "It was down in the basement."
"How did you find it?" I asked.
"My eyes can see through and detect anything. I found it in a second, as soon as I realised what you were doing. Anyway, got to rush. Good luck."
She ran off downstairs and left the building.
We opened the door and found the recently defeated guard inside.
"What?!," he exclaimed, "You found the other key? Looks like I am the loser after all. Funny, the same happened to Team Galactic, only it was the Heroes of Fire that did it. Hold on, they were the only Blaziken on this rock. You couldn't be... their son?"
He ran upstairs shouting a warning.

Without further ado we followed. The door opened in front of us and we entered. A big man, dressed much more lavishly than the grunts, faced us.
"Flammipes," he said. "You couldn't have just left us alone for a few hours, could you? And you, Combusken, I know not your name, but you are the child of the Heroes of Fire, yes? Well, since you're here, I might as well defeat you. Go, Fearow and Mightyena!"
The two Pokémon appeared. Mightyena was scary, Fearow was powerful. I ran for Fearow, who took off. I grabbed his legs but he still climbed to the ceiling. I attempted to claw his wings and pulled out a couple of feathers. It was enough, though, and Fearow landed before lashing at me with his beak. I rolled out of the way, stood and shot a fireball. It exploded on Fearow's wing and he cried out. The man shouted orders, Fearow flew up and dive-bombed me, hitting my arm. Ignoring the pain, I exploded another heatwave and Fearow collapsed. Flammipes finished Mightyena off at the same time.
The man recalled his Pokémon. "Well, that failed. We'll have to pull out. Bye-bye!" He fled from the room.

Suddenly, a Weavile burst into the the room and hit us both with Dark Beams.

Scene 1-21: The Dark World - Again

The only things that appeared to change were everything getting slightly darker and the air being difficult to breathe. I realised that we had truly entered the Dark World. The Weavile didn't follow us through.

We searched for a means to get back before it was too late. We went downstairs but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Cautiously we left the Apricity Research Centre.
"Weavile is probably the most important Pokémon in the city. He may well live in the most important house. That'll be the Dark equivalent of mine."
We set off back towards where Flammipes's house was in the Light World. Sure enough, the mailbox had Weavile's name on it and was shaped like his head. We entered.

A few moments later, Weavile appeared just outside. He didn't notice us as he entered.
"Well," he said to himself, "that was easy. They'll soon be consumed by the Darkness and I'll get a big bonus. Maybe a promotion, too. Yikes!" He noticed us. "What are you doing here? Oh, I get it. You want me to send you back. Well, NO WAY!"

He lobbed a ball of ice at me, which I dodged. I riposted with a fireball - which just bounced off with absolutely no effect.
"Nice try, but not good enough!"
Weavile lowered the temperature of the room. Breathing was getting really difficult. Flammipes fainted from lack of breathable air. I created a bubble of fire around myself to warm up again. I could feel the power of Darkness waiting to be summoned, but I didn't want to use it - Esmeralda had warned me what could happen.
"Come on, then, softy, hit me hard!"
I blasted a Flamethrower attack, which bounced off, too.
'I'm gonna regret this,' I thought to myself as I allowed the Darkness in and launched Daek Flamethrower. Weavile tried to protect himself with his arms, but became ensnared in Dark power. A few moments later the fire dissipated to reveal a crumpled and gasping Weavile.
"Fine," he said. "I'll send you back. Just don't do that again - it hurts!"
A moment later we found ourselves back in the Light World again.

Flammipes came round slowly and asked what had happened. She was amazed by what I had done.
"You used the Darkness to defeat a Darkling again? That's unheard of! No one knows the consequences, but I'm sure the Great Evil won't be pleased."
I felt a small jolt in my heart, but put it down to nerves.
The sun rose and we rested all morning.

I'm going to post this fanfic exclusively on my website from now on, for a few reasons:
1) It far easier and faster for me
2) I have more freedom in the presentation
3) Nobody seems to be leaving any feedback on this much, which is the main reason I was posting here anyways.

Addy changed, now at http://kaboom.adamhaskell.net/
