[Alakazam]

I have a page for all the lame emails I've gotten, so why not be positive and have one for all the nice ones I get? Well that is what I did and here they are!
Fan: My search for the greatest overall Pokemon site has taken me around the net, and it seems each time I find one I like, it disappears from existence awhile later. And so I look some more each time. I would like you to know that APCC is currently my top Pokemon site to visit, and I check in everyday for the latest Pokemon info--it's nice to go to a site that updates so frequently that I feel like I'm always up to date. Anyway, there is one thing about your site that bugs me, and that is the banner you have chosen. I like Skarmory a lot, but he's shrouded in blue, and I admire Richie as a great Pokemon trainer, but he's a nerd nonetheless (my opinion). It would also be nice for newcomers on the site to be able to see what in the world APCC stands for. Therefore, being an artist and a web designer, I have designed a new banner for the APCC, one which tells people what APCC means, still matches the site well, and also seems more relevant because it has Alakazam on it. I do not not expect you to use this banner of course. It is your site and if you want it how it is then who am I to say differently? But, I thought I would send it to you anyway in the hopes that you might like it and want to use it. I won't be disappointed if you don't. Keep up the good work on the site!
Reply: No this isn't just another Pokemon site! I mean we aren't just gonna post news normally one day and then just dissapear the next. I know that pain too much, since it has happened to me a lot with some of my favorite sites. Oh yeah, I like the banner, but I am going to be working a new layout soon (in a year or two lol), so thanks anyway.

Fan: I had just find out that a website had stole all your free layout, it was Pokecool go to http://www.pokecool.cc/index.php?id=layouts they stole all your free layout, they only delete top banner so you should e-mail them.
Reply: I hate it when you work really hard on something and someone just steals it and says it's theirs and that is what they did. The link doesn't seem to work anymore, but if I ever see them take my stuff again, they'll be heck to pay! I'm just thankful I have fans who report people like that.

Fan: I went to your website! I just wanted to say that you did a really great job on it! I really love pokemon and I like Team Rocket the most. Keep up the good work.
Reply: Why thank you for your comments! People may not know this, but I love fan praise. I mean even I have a bit of an ego. I mean I'm not over confident or anything... since I own the best Pokemon site ever.... what!?

Fan: How can moan about Pokemon being repeated on T.V? Here in South Africa, it's much worse than that, we have to wait 10 months after you've seen them. and in those 10 months, thay take Pokemon off COMPLETLEY. NO POKEMON for 6 Months. So you haven't seen 15 episodes in the last season. Well thanks to the BAD service here, we haven't seen the whole of the 1st and 2nd season, in the first we've seen from, Pokemon Fashion Flash to Chansey Operation, and in the second we've seen from Snack Attack to Charzard Chills, so that meens we've missed 63 flippin' episodes! Including Holy Matrimony!!!!!! We just wanted you to know the situation in the Southen Hemphisire.... And the haven't even released MewTwo Returns here!!!. After all that,, Thanks for the great downloads section, we'll always support you. And thank you for taking the time to read this.
Reply: Hey, I didn't even know I had fans in South Africa, cool! Anyway, I know it could be worse, but it could be worse for you too. I mean I heard that Pokemon was banned in a few countries since it was deemed offense or something like that. Well I hope the best for Pokemon in South Africa since I didn't even know it aired there. Hopefully you will get Mewtwo Returns, but you could always buy it on Amazon or something.

Fan: Well i wanted to tell u that u'r site is the best site of pokemon i have ever visit,i wanted to play pokemon gold and silver again i haven't played it in a long time so i thought i want to play pokemon gold and silver but 100% english and i was searching a week and then i found u'r site with loadsa info and roms all 100% english(i think:)). Well i just wanted to tell u that that u have an amazing site.
Reply: Well all of them are in English that got released in English (that means no Pokemon TCG 2 in English). Yes, if you want the latest information PokeZam.com has it all.

Fan: I also have seached around the net for quite some time looking for a reliable source for Pokemon news and information. It takes a lot to manage a website, especially such a great one. I give you a lot of credit for keeping your site so 'tidy'. I am 15 years old...and at this age it's difficult to find other people who still like Pokemon! Corny as it may sound, I almost feel like I belong at APCC! Anyways, I know how hard it is to run a website (I have a Pokemon website also, but of course, it doesn't compare to APCC ^_^*), and I just wanted to tell you good job. So, good job! And I think I speak for everyone when I say 'thanks'!

Fan: I stumbled upon your site while I was searching for a Pokemon Ruby Pokedex. And believe me when I say this, your site is by far the best pokemon site there is out there! I have never once came across a site so informative and full of walkthroughs, reviews...etc. Also, I saw your lamer mail page, and I almost fell off my chair laughing. Some people can't take a hint can they? Reply: I'm glad to hear that I'm appreciated. I actually do like it when people email me and tell me that they like my site because it lets me know that people appreciate how hard I work on getting the latest information.

Fan: I just wanted to tell you that your site is one of the best Pokemon sites I have ever found. I found the pictures from the banned episodes here and your site is to this date the only place I have even found a trace of the Japanese specials. Your site was also the first I found the Ruby/Sapphire Pokemon on. I was really down when the site closed a while ago since most of the other Pokemon sites I liked always got closed down. The only flaw your site has is that the episode guide is pretty thin. But otherwise your site is the best!
Reply: Everyone pay attention! Now this is a textbook example of the perfect feedback email. At the beginning the fan says what they like about the site before telling us what we can improve on. If every fan did that, it would make my life a lot easier. This person also knows how to spell properly, which seems to be a first. Take notes on this perfect example. Great job!

Thanks to you, I got the person to take down my layout, but not without a heated battle because they thought that they could steal my news and layout, but according to them, stealing from their site is wrong, even though they can steal from other sites. Fan: Hi, I am just getting started in Pokemon (actually my 3 yr. old son is), and I have bought him a ton of video tapes and DVD's, but I am trying to buy him the entire collection. I have been to numerous sites trying to find the names of all the volumes of video tapes, but am not having much luck. I found on your site where you list all of the television episodes, but am more interested in the video volumes that contain 3 episodes each. I have found the names of vols. 1-26, but am lost from there. I start in again at The Johto Journeys vols. 39-51, then nothing. Is there anywhere that you know of that I can get a complete list of these videos. Please let me know if you have any information on the subject. Anything is appreciated. Thank you, Brandie

Fan: With the recent lack of well-designed or up-to-date PKMN sites, PokeZam.com is refreshing. I've seen far too many either shut down or just quit updating. Don't let this happen to you (or any other useful Pokemon sites)! I found articles here I didn't even knew existed, like comparisons between the U.S. and Japan movies. Pokemon Heroes was excellent. Keep up the good work!
Reply: Thank you, running a Pokemon site as popular as my own isn't easy. I'm not trying to be arrogant, but truth be told there aren't very many good Pokemon sites left anymore. After the Pokemon Top 50 died, so did a lot of good sites. Hopefully my site will be around for 5 more years! Where ever there's Pokemon, I'll be there!

Fan: hey, I just want to say that the apcc is an awesome site! kudos to you for doing all the work to keep it up. I just fell upon it yesterday, so I've been having a good time looking through your content. I love the anime section and the wry humor in the episode and character descriptions. Fan: hi, i was listening to your zamcast, while looking at your affilliate sites, and as you said that ash wouldnt be in the upcoming episodes, i found a picture of him, on pokejungle, with new clothes fit for the shinou region. i dont know if this is fake or not, and i was wondering if you could confirm it. ty.
Reply: First of all, thank you for giving me some feedback for ZamCast like I asked for. I'm planning to do another one when I can think of some topics to talk about; let me know if you have any ideas. I'll be honest, I haven't been following Pokemon anime news for the last two years; however, I have watched the last half of the Pokemon Advanced Challenge and almost all of the Pokemon Advanced Battle seasons. To answer your question, like I said on ZamCast (I think), I think it's only going to be a special like the Raikou Special with the characters from Gold/Silver; however, they ended up appearing in the Johto League, so perhaps these new characters from Diamond and Pearl might appear in some upcoming episodes or even a spin off, but I can't see them taking over the main show. I too saw the picture of Ash with new clothes, which pretty much confirms he will still be around. Speaking of PokeZam, if I may ask the following: how did you find my site? What are your favourite (I'm Canadian) pages on my site? What do you think I could improve on my site? I'm always looking to give the fans what they want, so please let me know. Right now I'm working on updating the Manga section; I was doing episode guides, but I was getting bored of that; however, at least I'm getting the content updated. It's a lot for one person to update from 2 years behind (I'm using my old content from my old site, The APCC), but hopefully I can catch up eventually. Fan: I want to thank you for replying to my email, personally too, that show's me that you are a good webmaster, and i respect that. I came across your site, when i was looking through serebii.net's affilliate's, and i did the same to those sites, until i came across yours. the first time i found your site, i scammed through it, didnt really pay attention to it much (it's not that it was bad or anything, i was just scamming through all the sites at the time.) but then a week ago, i did the same thing, and when i came across pokezam a second time, i decided to take a close look at it, reasons being that the look of the site was very professional, i like the look, and your content is very good too. So far i've only found 3 pokemon sites that really catch my interest, and that's serebii.net, pkmn.net, and, your, pokezam. your zamcast is very interesting, it's the first time i've see or heard of a site doing something like that, and i quite enjoyed hearing your opinions on the pokemon mastermind special. reading it on the site news would have been ok, but hearing you actually talk about it... well, you're able to catch it more, it becomes more interesting. i for one, like zamcast . now my favorite pages on your site... well the whole thing is great, but i like the way you have 'lavender town' on there, to tell about the past pokemon sites that are no more, or not what they used to be. i like that most because my favorite sites used to be psypoke, and pokemonmasters, also! it's good when a fan can have something in common with a webmaster. i like the page that has the list of the pokemon voice actors, or the page about satoshi tajiri. all of that stuff is great! and your lamer mail is very intertaining, lol, i like that part of the site also . well i havent been through the WHOLE site yet, but i intend to. Ah, and the only thing that i can think of that needs work is, the pokedex, which i know, from your news, that are working on that, which i understand a pokedex would take a lot of work. I would love to help with your pokedex, if you need it, i love getting information on what moves a pokemon learns, and at what lvl.. etc. But anyways, other than that, it's all great! Oh! and your links to pokemon d/p and revolution arent working, they take you to the news (don't know if you knew that or not.) Thank you again for replying, and answering my questions! Fan: WHERE DO I FIND POKEMON ITEMS FOR MY SONS ROOM? I NEED TO FIND POKEMON SHEETS AND COMFORTER SETS IN QUEEN SIZE AND ANYTHING ELSE ESPECIALLY THE CARD BOARD STAND UPS. PLEASE HELP.
Reply: Your best bet would be either ebay or PokemonCenter.com; both are great sites to check.
Fan: THANK YOU. IT'S SAD THEY NO LONGER HAVE SHEET SETS AND COMFORTERS FOR QUEEN SIZE OR FULL SIZE. THEY DON'T MAKE THEM ANYMORE, I HEAR. SURE WISH THEY STILL HAD THAT GREAT STORE IN THE CITY THE POKEMON CENTER.

Reply: My gosh, another email from a parent? For the first 5 years of my site I never got emails from parents, but now I seem to get them daily. It's nice know that parents monitor their kid's Internet surfing habits, especially in 2006. I kind of makes me proud to know that I'm helping parents and their children out; go me!

Fan: I just want to say I adore your site. It's the best I've seen in a long time. There is loads to do, and I've found out a lot more about Pokemon. The fake game page was especially interesting xD. The layout is awesome, and very creative. I really enjoyed my visit ^__^ I'm sorry if I'm spamming full your inbox. I suppose you get a lot of fanmail. Reply: Curse you and your spam filling up my inbox! Just kidding! Actually, I appreciate it when fans take the time to say that they like my content because it took me years to build up the content that PokeZam has today. Thank you for the kind compliments.

Fan: "By the way, I really like how your site has a fan site feel to it and isn't just a generic general content Pokemon site." After I saw several excellent general sites (of the likes of psypoke, APCC, serebii, etc.), I decided from the beginning there was no way I could duplicate that effort, and it would be pointless to do so. I believe a web site (or any publication) should make its own unique contribution to a field or genre, not just be a copy of something available elsewhere. So I focused on what sort of original content I could provide to make my site interesting--original music, good quality fanfics, a few jokes, a quiz and so on--and provide links to where readers could find other content.
Reply: This was some excellent advice for aspiring Webmasters from the Webmaster of Raichu's Web Page (http://home.iprimus.com.au/vpolitis/raichu/). The key to success in making a new Pokemon site is having a unique website, not just another general content website because it will take years to catch up to the PokeZam's and Serebii's of the world.

Fan: You have a very good site, with very good content. Keep up the good work. Your site is also the most unique of any I've seen before (in an extremely good way). You also may have noticed them, however you're so busy (I sure think anyway from whats on your site!) that you may not of though.
Reply: I just put up the ending of the email, but this person actually went through PokeZam and pointed out all the spelling errors and wrong information that was on the site for me to fix. I really appreciate it because I don't have time to go through all the content looking for errors. Some of the content I wrote 7 years ago when I wasn't as good at writing as I am today; thus, there are bound to be more mistakes back then. Hopefully more people do that because it helps me out a lot. Thanks!
