Who else saw this? I thought that it was OK. It's better then the third and fouth movies. Although they took out a few parts, it was pretty good. Here's the Pros and Cons:
+ The ending battle is great, and the special effects are amazing in the battle between Dumbledore and Voldemort and the Battle at the end.
+ They took out the boring parts where they just Talk, talk, and talk.
+ The part where George and Fred fly away from the school is great!
+ They give you hints of the Nonverbal spell 'Levicorpus' even though they are said out loud: The first one is in Dumbledore's Army; There's someone who says "Levicorpus" and hangs someone in the air. The second one is when Harry goes into Snape's memories. You can see his Dad using it on Snape.
+ They didn't take out Gwamp or the Threshals.
- They took out the WHOLE QUIDDITCH! I wanted to see Ron try to be Keeper!
- They took out the Knargles at the end.
- They took out the place where they visit Saint Mungo's Hospital. I wanted to see Lochart (or however you spell his name) again.
- They don't show the parts where Harry is in the Order of Pheonix headquarters much.
- They pretty much don't show the OWLs at all.

if they didnt cut down the scene that Harry kisses Cho Chang than they shouldn't have cut down Draco's fight scenes since its much more important than who kisses Harry. lol

Yeah. They took out everything to do with quidditch. No fight. And harry only gets 1 detention, the one in the beginning.

^Yeah, I just skip the boring chapters where they talk for the whole time. (Chapter one of the fifth book for example)

So who's seen this movie?
HobbesI
07-13-2007, 09:24 PM
By who? Me? If so....
You should really see it. The spells at the end are fantastic. It's a full-out magic battle. And the 'duels' are really good. Especially the one with Voldemort VS Dumbledore. They make great special effects, espicially with Reducto and Spuefy. Reducto is so powerful the Ginny blew up all the mirrors in the Room of Requirement with it. She also blew up the Prophecies after that. Stupify looks like a halo running dowards you that knocks you back... and there are no boring parts. Even the beginning is good. You won't get bored and should see it! Although Luna Luvgood or however you spell it looks different then I thought she would, It's a great movie, even without quidditch. It's mainly focused on Dumbledore's Army, a few other things, and the final battle. You should really see it. There are also some funny parts that you can see in the funniest quote thread that I will post in after I post this.
Btw, how long is a Legendary Arcanine Post?

I saw it the day after the night it came out. not as good as I thought it would be. They took out quidditch!!!! I loved the quidditch! I would have liked more Hagrid too. I also didn't notice the showing of the different seasons in the same place. like one movie with the womping willow I think # 3.

HobbesI

Yisrolik....
I've read the seventh book now... I'm going to make a thread for it
I may see the movie again in IMAX 3-D, just to see what it's like, but I think that the spell-casting and the battle in the department of mysteries will look cool.

HobbesI

*wishes good luck*
Tell us when you finish the sixth book... a good part is when they finally visit Fred & George's shop in Diagon Ally! But, Harry HAD to cut it short by following malfoy..

Now that the fifth movie is out, are you going to see Pirates of the Carribean: At world's end?

I saw the movie but I don't think it was that great. Seemed like it was rushed. I would say the first movie was better then this one. They had no quidditch, Like what hobbes said I wanted to see Lockheart again, and other things I just can't remember.

Ohhh... they completely BUTCHERED the movie!! They left out crucial parts!!! Like Quidditch, of course, more than 9/10 of the Ministry of Magic at the end, Malfoy's fight, the detentions, the mirror Sirius gave Harry, and lots of other stuff I ranted about when I came out of the movie theater but I can't remember!
HobbesI

Um, actually, these are the things they took out at the end in the Department of Mysteries:
1. The Brain Tank
2. Pluto exploding in Ron's face
3. The Time-Turners
4. The room with the doors
5. The other room with the spinning doors
And... that's it.
And they couldn't have Malfoy's fight and the detentions because Malfoy's Fight was what got Harry the detentions and without quidditch, there's no fight.

It's nine o'clock at night. At this point, my brain turns to mush and I can't process nuttin' that sounds smartical.

I'm not gonna go into detail but that mirror plays a pretty big role in the seventh book so the popel who will malke the seventh movie will have to find some creative way to make it so Harry gets it or take it out. Also in the fifth book Ron,Hermoine, and Neville get more injuries. Ron gets all stupid since the brain attacks him, Hermoine gets knocked out, and Neville breaks his nose.

They'll also have to make Ron get keeper position in the sixth movie if they even bother to have quidditch again. If they don't...
chain reaction!
No quidditch > No Ron being keeper > No Felix Felicis or whatever you how to spell it > Slughorn will not be much and Harry won't use the Felix Felicis when trying to get the memory from Slughorn which also means that Aragog won't come back/die.
And also, about the fourth movie, how come they didn't show dobby again? He plays a part in the seventh book. I guess they'll have to make some way for him to reappear or something.

08-06-2007, 08:48 PM
Augh! Do they not know what kind of whacked out predicament they've landed themselves in?!
Why couldn't they have a longer movie, then just put it on 2 discs, like they did for Titanic?

Tell me about it! Instead, the fans have to suffer at how badly it SUCKS!

And how come pirates of the carribean gets more then three hours when Harry Potter only gets 2 hours?
3speon
08-07-2007, 01:31 PM
LOL they'll have to add a bunch of junk at the end that they forgot about in the beginning so it'll prolly end up like 5 or 6 hours. >.<
HobbesI
08-07-2007, 09:01 PM
That's twice as long as pirates of the carribean. And pirates were LOOOONG!

6hours? That's crazy! I've also wondered what happened with dobby. I don't understand why they couldn't show him in the newer movies he's a computer animated character it wouldn't be thta hard to put him in.
HobbesI
08-07-2007, 10:10 PM
Maybe just because to put in dobby would mean that in the fourth movie they'd have to go down to that place where the house-elves are often. And that would take up too much time.

08-07-2007, 10:10 PM
I know! They've screwed themselves into a hole. >.>

Well, there's one good thing if he doesn't appear in the 7th movie.
SPOILER ALERT
(for people who have not read the 7th book or sixth or fifth, etc.)
He won't die! Whoopee, Dobby won't die!

If not, I'm not putting up anymore spoilers. Ask through PM... I don't want to spoil it for erika and then it's tiger hunting season again.

Yeah, I read it. It's the fastest I've ever read a Harry Potter book. 1 1/2 days. I could barely believe it! I stayed up till 3 AM cuz I couldn't put it down.
