You will start your adventure watching a report on sightings of a Red Gyarados. Once you stop getting your fill of static, go downstairs and talk with your mother. She will warn you not to go into any tall grass. From here exit the house and enter the one kitty corner. At the same time your rival will come out, exclaim that he forgot something and go back in. Follow him inside and go upstairs. Talk to him and he should leave. Leave the house and go north to meat up with your rival. He will get an idea to try to find legendary Pokemon in the local lake like the Red Gyarados in the TV report. Upon entering, Professor Rowan and his assistance, either Lucas or Dawn depending on your character choice. He will leave but forget to take his suitcase, containing Sinnoh's start Pokemon, along. Go up to it to be attacked by two wild Starly. Both you and your rival will fight them off. They are very weak so it will be an easy battle. At this point Professor Rowan's assistance will enter back in to retreive the briefcase. He will be shocked that you used the two Pokemon and will quickly leave, asking you to come back out. Go back the way you came and you should meat up with Rowan again. He will give you the Pokemon and ask you to meat with him at his lab. You will wind up back at your home and your Mom will heal your Pokemon. She will also give you running shoes to move faster whenever you press and hold "B".

Immedidately upon arriving in the town you should notice Professor Rowan's lab. Talk to him for a bit and you will receive a pokedex, which will record data on all Pokemon you see in the future. From here go back home and talk to your mother to let her know you'll be away. Now go back to Sandgem town. Start by going south onto the beach area, you should find a potion here. Now go strait north. Rowan's assistance will teach you how to catch Pokemon, in case you already don't. From here follow the route, battling the few trainers along the way. You should soon arrive in Jublife City.

Once in Jubilife city, you should heal up at the Pokemon Center (the building with the red roof), then go to the Pokemon School to the left of it. Here you will find your rival. Deliver the package his mom gave you and you will also receive a Town Map. From here you may as well go to the right part of the building and battle the two trainers here. They both have Abras. Once you beat them they will give you the Hidden Power TM. Now go back outside and you will find three clowns. Answer yes to each of their question, then go back near the Pokemon Center to receive a Pokemon Watch, or PokeTch for short. From here go to the west exit of town and when inside the building talk to a fisherman to receive an Old Rod. Now go back to Jubilife city and go east. You will now arrive in Route 203, with your Rival challenging you no sooner.

If you feel you are strong enough after beating your rival, continue east. If not, heal up at the Pokemon Center then go back. On this route you will encounter several trainers, fight them and go east into a cave. Here, in the Oreburgh Gate, a hiker will give you HM 06, which can be used to smash rocks after obtaining the first gym badge. For now just hold on to it. Now continue eas through the cave and you will find two more trainers. Exit and a trainer will lead you to the gym, where your rival has already obtained his gym badge. He will say that the gym leader, Roark, is in the mines. To get to them go to the far east of the city, where the Pokemon Center is, then head south. You will find the Oreburgh mines here. Enter the cave, fight the trainers along the way, and you will find the gym leader, who will then leave. Now go back to the gym, fight the two trainers (or take the path around them) and finish with Roark. His Pokemon can be fairly strong, and even Piplup or Turtwig may have a tough time. It is recommended your Pokemon be around level 16 before challenging him.

Once you are done, teach the HM the hiker gave you to a Pokemon who can learn it. You may choose for this not to be a Pokemon in your battling team, as it is a fairly weak move. Now go back to Jublife city by heading west out of the town and head for the north exit of Jubilife. Professor Rowan and his assistant are being hastled by Team Galactic here, so team up with Rowan's assistant and battle them two-on-two. They are actually very weak, so don't worry too much. Now continue onto Route 204 and battle the trainers here. You will want to enter the cave on the north part of this route, then rock smash the rocks blocking the exit to the right. Now go through and you will be back outside. There are a few more trainers to battle, so do so and proceed to Floroma Town.

The building in the center of the town is where you can trade berries for accessories. You cna also get the Psyduck Pail here, which is required to water berries. Once you have it head east out of town and you will find a girl who says her father was kidnapped. Continue east until you find the Valley Wind Works, where a Team Galactic Grunt is standing guard. Beat him and he will lock himself inside, so go back to Floroma and into the north-west part of the town. You will find that you can go into a new area here where which you will commence in a double battle against two Grunts. They are very weak and should pose no trouble at all. Now a guy, who sells Honey, will give you the key to the Valley Windworks. Now go back there and unlock the door. Here you will find two more Grunts as well as one of the Commanders, Mars. She is a little tougher, so make sure you are healed.

In here you team up with another Pokemon trainer, Cheryl. All your battles will now be double, though her only Pokemon is Chansey. None the less, she heals your Pokemon automically after every battle, so the forest should be easy to get though. The forest itself is a bit of a maze, but still a direct one. You shouldn't have troule finding the exit, which is located northeast of the entrance. Upon exiting, you will find a bridge and a patch of a grass. If you want to gain some experience, fight the Fisherman on the bridge, then exit into Eterna city.
In Eterna City you will want to heal up, then go to the gym located south of the Pokemon Center. In this gym you will be welcomed by the gym leader. Follow her into the gym. Here you will need to challenge the different hidden trainers. These trainers are pretty easy to spot. The first is located in the north-western part of the gym. She will give you the clue to the next trainer. Once beating all trainers, go on to battle the gym leader here. You will want your Pokemon to be in the mid-20s, with a flying-type Pokemon.

Enter the building and go up a few levels, battling the grunts along the way. On the top, you should find Galactic Commander Jupiter. Battle her, keeping in mind both her Pokemon are poison type.

The man at the counter will give you a Bicycle. To use it go into your bag, navigate to the key items pocket, and select "Bicycle". You can go faster or slower by pressing "B" once. Now go through the building at the south side of town. One of Professor Oak's aids should give you an item if you have seen enough Pokemon. If not, you may want to go back and battle a few more trainers. Either way, continue on your bike south.

At the end, go through the building and you will find Professor Rowan's Assistant, who will give you a PokeTch app called the "Dousing Machine" to search for hidden items. You can either go south down a ledge into Oreburgh town and heal up or go east into a cave. To return from Oreburgh city, go up the ledge with the bicycle at its highest speed. Once you go into the cave, you will meat Cyrus, the leader of Team Galactic. He will leave and you should proceed forward, exiting the cave, and battling a few more trainers. There is a house near the entrance into Hearthome city where you can purchase fertilizer for berries and get a Poketch app to see which berries have grown.

On Cycling Road, you will find many trainers which you fight for extra experience. Once again, some are optional and others are mandatory. When you exit Cycling Road, you will find some trees that you can cut to fight some more optional trainers. By now your starter and Staravia should be in their mid 20's. Go further south to be back in Oreburgh City. Heal up, and go back up the mud path with your bike and go east. There are some trainers for you to fight, though eventually you will reach a cave. Enter the cave and continue going east. you will be confronted by the Team Galactic Boss, Cyrus, who will talk to you and then leave and go west. Continue going east until you reach the end. Exit. Continue to go north until you reach a new town. There isn't much here except the Daycare/Breeding Center, however before leaving go east through a small path to find the Soloceon Ruins. Here you will find nothing except Unown and a few optional trainers, though you need to see Unown to complete the Pokedex. You can also capture known and show them to the boy in the house outside the ruins to get letter seals for your pokeballs. His mother will also present you with a seal case, needed for getting seals elsewhere.

When you're done here head back out and then go west and north. You will fight some more trainers, and you also have the option of fighting a few inside a cafe area. From the cafe, go all the way east. It will rain the entire route, so in battles you will encounter the effects of rain dance, water is strengthened and fire is weakened. Then go south fighting more trainers along the way until you reach the Veilstone City. To get to the gym here, go south, then east, then south again, west, and finally north. This gym is a fighting type gym so Staravia will be of great use here. At this point, both your starter and Staravia should be near Level 30. The gym consists of moving gates around to create paages for yourself. Eventually you will fight the gym leader, Maylene. The only real threat she poses is Lucario who is 1/2 Steel type. I had Prinplup so it's Bubble-beam took out Lucario in two hits.

Go all the way south and fight the trainers along your path. Go through a vacation area, and then continue south. Go west through a beach area, north, and then west again to reach Pastoria. Pastoria is the home of the Safari Zone in Sinnoh. Pay to enter the zone and talk to the boy on the east side to get HM05, Defog. Defog is not entirely neceary, though will help in certain areas. Unless you want to catch a few Pokemon, leave the Safari Zone. You may not want to teach fog clear to Starvia, as it can be hard to remove, though for now isn't a bad idea. Head to the Pastoria City gym to face Crusher Wake. Inside you will notice that you will have to step on switches to control the levels of water in the gym. It takes a bit of work to understand, though it isn't that difficult. Defeat the trainers in the gym and then heal up before facing Crusher Wake. By this point, your starter and Staravia should be in the early to mid 30's. Make sure you keep Staravia healthy if you choose Chimchar as your starter.

Once you're done, you're nearly halfway completed with the basic part of the game. You have two options from here. If you want to complete the Pokedex, go west and north to route 212 and fight all the trainers in your path. You can also go back east and challenge them later. If you go back east, heal up and talk to the Team Galactic grunt who will dash away. When you follow him, you will face your rival for the third time. Once again, this battle should really present no trouble at all.

Continue back east and north and confront the Team Galactic grunt as he moves along. Eventually he will battle you, however all he has is a level fairly weak Glameow. While on that path, you will meet Cynthia who will give you the secret potion to clear the Psyducks from your path that hindered your progress. To use it, go back all the way west until you reach the Psyducks, or just fly to Solanceon Town then going north. At this point you should use the secret potion and north, then east. Use Defog to help improve your path and fight the trainers along the way. When you reach the next town, talk to the Team Galactic grunt to fight him and then enter the building and observe the drawings on the wall. An old woman will walk up to you and give you HM03, Surf. At this point, fly to Hearthome city, or go through the cave to the west of the town. Finally, after considerable trouble, you can enter the gym here and face Fantina for your fifth gym badge.

There isn't really anything to do back in Hearthome, so go directly to the gym. To get through the gym, you will need to properly answer each of the different math problems. To do this, first go through the right door, then the middle door, then the left door, and finally the right door again. Of course, you may want to get the insanely easy problems wrong for the heck of it, as the trainers here can help your experience, and are the only ones to own a Drifloon.

From here you have two options; continue to complete your Pokedex or go get the sixth gym badge. If you want to finish your Pokedex, talk to the man by the boat near the southwestern side of town and he will take you to Iron Island. At Iron Island you will find a partner who needs your help to fight Team Galactic. Maneuver your way around the cave on the island and fight the wild Pokemon and Galactic grunts as you go. When you lead him out, he will give you an egg that will give you a Riolu once it hatches. This is not mandatory to get to the Elite Four though no trainer or gym leader has a Riolu so you won't get the data.
At this point there isn't a whole lot to do so heal up and go to the gym. The trainers here have mostly steel, rock, and ground type Pokemon. The gym itself is pretty straight forward and consists of just a few elevators and other moving platforms which lead to different floors and different parts of floors. If you feel you are strong enough, and are ready to fight some pretty strong steel Pokemon, then go to the leader and challenge him. You will find that he is the father of Roark, the first gym leader you faced.

First things first fly to Celestic town, where you received Surf. You will need a Pokemon able to use Rock Smash and optionally Strength, Surf, and Defog. First off, go west to the cave. If you haven't gone here before, you will have some pretty easy trainers to beat. When in the cave go north and Rock Smash your way through. There will be an area in which you can get some good items by surfing and using strength. Otherwise, just continue north, ignoring this area to the east. You will soon find your way out of the cave and into a snow route. Welcome to Route 216! Go west for a while until you reach a house where you can heal. Now go north through Route 217 facing the trainers along the way. When you reach the deep snow, search carefully behind a house to find HM08, Rock Climb. This is important for later. There is also a hiker inside a house who is looking for something he lost. He will reward you if you find it without taking the item. Continue going north and west until you reach Snowpoint City.
You should now be in Snowpoint City. There isn't a whole lot to do here, so go strait to the Pokemon Center, heal up, then go to the gym. This gym can be slightly tough as you have to line yourself up to clear snow rocks that block your path, facing tough trainers along the way. When you are done you can face Candice. Candice is an ice-type gym leader so fire works well here. If you choose Turtwig at the beginning of the game, use a strong physical type move to deal with Candice's Pokemon. Starraptor will also help due to the fact that it is very fast and will be able to move before the enemy can. By this point your Pokemon should be around Level 45.

Leave Snowpoint City and go until you find two Galactic grunts no longer blocking the entrance to Lake Acuity. You will find that your rival has been brutally beaten by Jupiter. She won't battle you, and he will leave, so you may as well follow suite. Team Galactic now has all three of the Legendary Pixies.

Back to Vielstone City
In Vielstone city, go all the way east then north towards the Galactic headquarters. Talk to a Galactic grunt and he will drop a key. Take this key over to the warehouse, on the other side of town. Go in and battle the various grunts. You will need to find the main headquaters' key, which shouldn't take too long. Once you have found it, exit the warehouse and go back where you found the Galactic grunt before. Enter the building and use the key to go to the next level. Go through the building and face the various Team Galactic grunts. When you finally reach the top floor, you will face off with Galactic Administrator Cyrus.

If you have gotten tired of facing Galactic, well, you're just getting started. At this point, you will need to go to the top of Mt. Coronet. Unfortunately, this can be a bit tiresome.
Mt. Coronet and Sky Pillar
To start off, fly to Oreburgh city. Head north and up the ledge. Now go west into the cave. From here take the high road by surfing across the patch of water, then rock climb up. The path here is fairly linear, however I personally recommend looking around, as there are some great items. Generally look for rocks that are out of place ( x ), or empty patches surrounded by rocks (xxx&nbps;xxx). Also, parts of walls that are hidden by a smashable rock also usually contain great items. Of couse, there will be plenty of non-hidden items as well. Ultimately, if you would rather not look for items, then simply go west, then north up the stairs, then continue walking north. Now walk across the bridge, go south, then walk down the stairs, and walk about up the stairs to the north. Now go east, walking across the second bridge, and finally going west and into the next room. Here simply go northeast, then north and west, battling the Galactic grunts here, and finally going south out of the cave. You'll notice its quite snowy here. First go north-east, rock climb up once, and then go south-west. You will find another entrance into the mountain. Go through here. Now, go strait foward and rock climb up the wall. Now go through here and out of the mountain again. From here go as far north as you can (you will notice that on your way there will be an entrance to the east in a pit, it simply loops arround but has many grunts for training, as well as numerous items) then far west. You should notice another entrance. At this point simply go west, fighting the last few Galactic members. Go through the exit of this cave. Welcome to the Spear Pillar.
You will probably want to heal up and save after a double battle with two grunts here. First, its time to engage in battle with Commanders Jupiter and Mars. Don't worry too much about these guys, you will have your rival battling with you, who will heal you after the battle, so they should be a piece of cake.

At this point all you have left is to defeat or capture Dialga/Palkia (depending on what game you have). If you choose not to capture them, you will not have another chance, however unlike other legendaries, these guys are actually pretty easy. Simply lower its HP to about 1/4 and put it to sleep and you should be able to get it in just two or three shots. Once you are done, fly to Pastoria city.
Route 222 and Sunyshore City
From Pastoria city, go to the resort's resturant. Go east and a previously blocked path can now be accessed. Go east the entire way, fighting trainers as you need, and you should be in Sunyshore city.
When you reach the gym, you will notice the entrance is blocked. Go to the lighthouse and find a man with wild blond hair. This is Volkner, the eighth and final gym leader. Talk to him and he will leave and go back to the gym for you to battle. Enter the gym. This gym can be rather tough as you have to step on switches to move around various paths. Fight the various trainers until you reach the third room where Volkner is. The key to get to Volkner is to first get over from the west side to the east side by moving around on the switches. Once you are on the east side, another switch you step on will help you create a path where you can talk to and battle Volkner. At this point your party should be in the level 40s at the very lowest. Raichu and Luxray will be the strongest here, however Ambipom and Octillery should be a piece of cake.

Once you have successfully beaten Volkner, exit the gym, heal up if neccessary, and go to the beach in the north part of town. Candice, the kindly steal gym leader from Gold, Silver, and Cyrstal, will reward you with HM 07-Waterfall. Now you should surf as far north as you can until you find a sailor and a narrow horizontal passageway. Go through here and again go all the way north until you come across a rather large waterfall. Use HM 07-Waterfall on it, and you will be facing the Victory Road entrance, as well as a Pokemon Center. Heal up, and start your Journey to the Pokemon League.
Victory Road
Victory Road holds true to its name - everyone who is able to see it is victory. Everyone who gets through has what it takes to becoem a champion. In here, you are advised to heal when needed by leaving and going back to the Pokemon Center, or using items. Also, make sure to save after every battle, because you may lose your next. Start your journey here by going across the bridge, then east across the next bridge. Now go down the stairs, north through another bridge (you do not need to go down the stairs), down a rocky patch, west while avoiding jumping over the ledges, and up the stairs. Now go north, fight the trainers, and head up the west-leading stairs again.
In this next area, smash the rocks to the south, use strength to complete the puzzle, and go east, adventually fighting an Ace Trainer. Complete the next puzzle by moving the west-most rock down, smashing the rock, moving it back up, and going through. Smash the next rock here, fight another Ace Trainer, and move the two boulders eastward. Fight the elder, and head down the east-bound stairs.
You will now be back in the main area. Go east across the bridge, then down the rocky patch. Now go up then right, fight the Karate Master, and continue east, going down the stairs.
This next area will require Surf and Waterfall, and is also where you can catch Feebas. Start by going down the stairs, surfing through the right canal, and then going further north once fighting the Psychic. Clumb up the waterfall, head west, and then south once reaching the end (not going down the second waterfall unless wanting to get the item there). Head up the westward stairs, then down the path to the right of the Elder Trainer. Now go east, then north up a rocky patch. Go all the way north, fighting your very last trainer of the merciless Victory Road, and you will be back outside.
Pokemon League
Upon arriving at the Pokemon League, you will want to heal up, and buy any neccessary items. Once you have done this, save the game, and talk to the trainer in front of the league gate. He will scan your badges, then declare you are ready to enter the Pokemon league. Of course, this wouldn't be a party without your rival showing up. In that vain, you will now fight him for your fifth and final time. He will be pretty strong this time, as you may have noticed when battling along side him at Spear Pillar.
